At Craft Your Passion the challenges are Always Anything Goes!We have the fabulous Little Blue Button Stamps as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

I’ve coloured up the beautiful and serene Mix Media “Peony” by Little Blue Button Stamps with Polychromos Pencils along with some Iridescent Medium painted over the hummingbird and her eyelids to give a shimmer to her green eye shadow. You may just be able to make it out?It was then cut out with a die to make it seem as though she had been torn from a sketch book. The sentiment has been stamped directly onto this piece too.I have to admit the card base was a little too small to place it elsewhere!I really wanted to use this die to cut the shaped card from as I thought it a good match for her hairstyle,so I had to compromise with the size.It measures around 5″ x 5″.The pretty paper was part of a magazine freebie.I stretched the lace across and held it in place with decorative staples. The flower, also supposed to a peony, I made myself by die cutting some white self adhesive fabric as it had a lovely texture.I coloured all the layers with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers and once dry I shaped the layers.I left the backing paper on the bottom flower to give it more stability. As I didn’t want the second flower or stamens to stick to anything else I dusted the backs with talc…which worked beautifully 🙂 A black gem has been added to the centre.Three white flat backed pearls adorn the top right hand corner as I always think they go so well with lace 🙂

Candy that is good for your ‘Elf’!

At Craft Your Passion the challenges are Always Anything Goes!We have the fabulous A Day For Daisies as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

How adorable is Candy Elf C by A Day For Daisies?Totally! And what’s more this cutie is calorie and sugar free 😀 All coloured up with Copic Ciao Markers and 3D Crystal Lacquer on the sweetie for that cellophane wrapped feel…

Here’s a closer look. Please excuse that the reds look more pink on this one.Think it’s because I had to hold my craft lamp nearer to capture the shine. That’s what I’m really trying to show…

I also used a Graph’It Shake Marker in Gold to make the little dangly things on his hat jingle bell like, but I suppose they could be anything you want then to be depending what you added 😉

I placed him on this beautiful backing paper and layered with coordinating green card.Around this is wrapped a length of baker’s twine. The wooden candy cane is painted with Gesso.Once dry I lightly ran a red Stardust pen over the top, allowing the ink to flow so as not to clog the nib.Next (as I couldn’t find my clear Stardust pen) I coated the white stripes with Winsor & Newton Iridescent Medium. It’s quite sparkly IRL but the camera failed to pick it up ,and not my lack of photography skills as you’d assume 😉 After stringing the bells onto a shorter piece of twine they were tied on,finishing in a bow.A tiny dab of dries clear PVA stops the cut ends from fraying 🙂 The greeting has been embossed with a magazine freebie border folder.

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Well,I think Josh – Apple Tree is a good thing 😉 He’s by Crafty Sentiments Designs and he’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers. Some white gel pen highlights have been added and his wellies have been given a coating of 3D Crystal Lacquer.

Here’s a shot of the shine :

csdt21stjuly 002

I nearly picked some different papers but when sifting through I came across these.Just had to be!

A strip of jute/hessian ribbon, some wooden leaves and,for good measure,a wooden ladybird embellish the card in keeping with the country feel I was trying to create.I thought the sentiment quite fitting.Judging by the plaster on his cheek I’m guessing it covers an injury from another escapade.Figuring this little guy lives life to the full!

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Bright Colours.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Here’s the dynamic Tobey – Roller Skates by Crafty Sentiments Designs. He’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers with a few white gel pen highlights.I’m so glad I found these papers 🙂 They’re just perfect for this challenge and more impact has been given teaming them with this orange card. Now,glitter is usually the last thing I would go to for a male themed card but I thought I’d liven it up a bit with some touches of Glitter Shake Pen in gold for the centres of the stars and to draw around the shooting one on the sentiment. This was then heat embossed with clear powder for a cabouchon effect.A length of paper twine has been stretch across the border strip,a looped and tied bunch added then finally topped with a button threaded with more paper twine for a dimensional finish.

Game On!

At Craft Your Passion the challenges are Always Anything Goes!We have the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

I coloured up Video Game Guy by Bugaboo Stamps with Copic Ciao Markers and added in some white gel pen hightlights.I was lucky to find these papers in an after Christmas sale at my local craft warehouse.I just knew they’d come in handy! The red spotty bracket piece and orange star border are die cuts from the same pad.I dug out some lime coloured card to coordinate with it and added a sprinkling of star brads. The sentiment I made using my Dymo Embossing Labelmaker. This one is quite fancy in the fact that it has interchangeable wheels with different fonts and punctuation marks.BUT it wasn’t until I started clicking away that I realised there wasn’t an apostrophe.Oooops….hence the asterisk or little star I prefer to call it.It ties in better with the card that way 😛

After having my 13-year-old son at home last week for half-term this seems quite apt!Mind you, this is for his Birthday…in December!Nothing like being prepared 😀

I’m guesting for the Just Some Lines Facebook Challenge again 🙂 To enter the December Tag It! Challenge you need to create a tag.The other stipulation is that you must use a Just Some Lines image. But with so many beauties in the store it wouldn’t be difficult to choose! My card, along with other wonderful inspiration and extra details on how to enter, can be found on the Just Some Lines Blog too.

This is Sweet Amber – Mistletoe by Just Some Lines. She’s been printed onto kraft card and coloured with Polychromos Pencils. The tag and layers have been created with a Go Kreate die set as the tag dies I have weren’t really big enough but I think this shape works well. The patterned paper is a freebie,The sentiment was stamped and cut with one of my tag die sets.A strip of natural hessian ribbon has been placed behind Amber to give some texture. To keep with the rustic element some jute twine has been threaded through the top of the tag along with some ribbon that has been recycled from last years Christmas cake 🙂

What a cutie Christmas SB Turkey by Bugaboo Stamps is.She’s been coloured up with Copic Ciao Markers with a few teeny touches of white gel pen.As I’ve finished this year’s Christmas cards I thought I’d take the opportunity to make a start on next year’s 🙂 I’m a bit boring as I take a design as my signature make and just go with different images, colours, embellishments etc. to change them up a bit.It does give me more time to concentrate on my colouring tho’ so not all bad 🙂 I finished off with some luxurious velvet ribbon,a wooden button (to go with the heart on her skirt),a little jute twine and these fab sentiment stamps. From a set so you can make your own phrases up – love the versatility!

Just dropping you an (out)line

For my card I’ve used this sweet Vintage Girl Wearing Cute Hat by The Sugar Kissed Cottage. Now,anyone who knows me or has stopped by my blog must know how much I LOVE colouring so this was a tough one for me!I even set the challenge – lol xD …And this where I had a major issue. My trusty old over-worked printer just couldn’t cope with printing out anymore digi stamps and died 😦 Not good when your DT work consists of working with digital images…and then the panic set in!!After much deliberation, running around in circles and a ton of confusion I finally decided which one to go for.Second hurdle…all the places I’d been looking online were now out of stock!Luckily DH had seen a stack of them in a local supermarket and on sale – always up for a bargain 😉 On his travels at work he dropped in and grabbed one of the remaining few 🙂  As he had only popped home to get changed for a meeting he left the installation to me.Eeeek! No worries tho’ it was easy.Phew! With that out of the way I set about printing my first image.I changed the colour in Word and as this was a test I printed it in Draft so as not to waste too much ink, yeah I’m frugal.I know it’s only an outline but I’m impressed and I got a usable piece 🙂 It even took the 210 gsm card I usually print onto without a fight.Bonus! So I’m happy 🙂 Any way enough of the printer review, back to the card.I got the idea for the layout from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine and just had to try it,altering it to suit a little.I’ve teamed her with some beautiful My Mind’s Eye papers ( all scraps) and added some die cut flowers and swirls.I stamped the greeting in a Memento Ink that just happened to match the printer ink pretty well.A few gems to decorate and it’s all done!I think the uncoloured image looks quite effective and will use this technique again – especially when I need a card in a hurry!

For  my card I’ve used the totally sweet Cherry Fairy by A Day For Daisies and coloured her with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers, adding some gloss to the cherries. The pretty papers were a freebie from Papercraft Inspirations magazine. After adhering  them to the kraft base I hand stitched  along the seams and wrapped some lace around both the  top and bottom edges. The sentiment was stamped onto some self adhesive fabric paper.I love the translucency it gives allowing a glimpse of the papers beneath.I layered up a paper flower,a jute twine threaded chipboard button and a couple of pearl topped pins to create the embellishment in the corner.
