At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Banners. We have the fabulous Birdie Brown as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
For my card I’ve used Be My Friend by Birdie Brown.Aren’t they just the cutest?!They’ve been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers with some 3D Crystal Lacquer to enhance those beautiful, big eyes.I hand cut the banners then punched some tiny holes before threading them with some jute twine.I threaded some sweet wooden buttons onto the ends.I’ve used a selection of gorgeous Boho Chic papers to go with the little bunnies, the light woodgrain is the reverse of the one in the background and provides a nice contrast I think. The burnt orange card is some I had luckily tucked away in my stash 🙂 I distressed and tore the edges to keep in with a countryside feel. The sentiment was created in my brand new, shiny toy…a Dymo Embossing Labelmaker!I remember these being so popular when I was and kid and how totally jealous I was that my brother got one for Christmas.I’ve always admired them on others papercraft projects too.Thinking how outdated these were compared to today’s technology I thought I’d pick one up fairly cheaply…WRONG!Oh my,even on that well know auction site the most basic still seemed pricey to me…until I found this baby…

It came with interchangeable wheels with different fonts/numbers.The pink one sitting in the machine even has some cute icons 🙂 Plus you get this lanyard so you can wear it around your neck…thinking Medallion Man here 😉 I may be labeling everything that doesn’t move.My doggy better look out – she’s pretty lazy!

For my tag I’ve used the adorable Party Dog by Just Some Lines and coloured him with Copic Ciao Markers. The balloons have had a good coating of 3D Crystal Lacquer altho’ it only really shows a little on the top of the green balloon in the pic.I decided to cut him out with the same shape tag as the base and inked around the edges in Sepia Archival Ink for definition. To create the layers of DP I cut them from the same die as the kraft base, embossed them and then trimmed away the excess to reveal the border.I also tore the edges for a ruff look (couldn’t resist!).The sentiment was stamped onto another die cut from the set and the edges were inked on that too.I added the brads and folded back the arms, legs (or whatever you call them…lol) back so that they would not be seen from the front. Some baker’s twine was tied to the small tag and some more along with a length of grosgrain ribbon onto the tag base.

… is difficult to photograph…LOL
At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is All That Glitters. So a good excuse to get sprinkling 😉 We have the fabulous Stamp Fairy as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
For my card I’ve used Molly Fairy by Stamp Fairy and coloured her with Polychromos pencils and blended with low odour oils thinners using paper stumps.I then glittered up her wings, hairband, star on her wand and boots. After fussy cutting her I mounted her on foam pads onto this fab die cut (a new set I bought). The papers are all beautifully glittered too but the camera has failed to capture it.I hand cut the hexagon border from another sheet in the pad.The corner is cut from the same set of dies and fitted perfectly with the punched corners – love it when a plan comes together 🙂 I stamped a sentiment onto yet another piece of card cut with this set.I layered up a grosgrain ribbon bow and a glittered button (that unfortunately doesn’t show either) tied with some paper twine to embellish.

We’re so wonderfully, wonderfully, wonderfully, wonderfully pretty….well that’s enough of The Cure 🙂 and so onto my Love ♥ reminder post for Just Some Lines. There’s still plenty of time to play and the freebie is still up if you choose to use it to do so but any Just Some Lines image is fine 🙂
What could be more fitting for a milk carton than a couple of kitties 🙂 Well that’s what I thought when I saw Cat Love 2 by Just Some Lines. After scouring the internet for instructions I happened across one at A Load of Old Pickle but alas I don’t have a Hougie Board.Iwork in ‘old money’ on a Martha Stewart Scoring Board so I then found this one at Robin’s Creative Cottage which also included tips on how to make them in different sizes. So I’ve drawn inspiration from both and rolled it into one.And I managed it first go too! Thanks ladies for 2 great tuts. The box is made from linen effect card and I printed the image onto the same. After colouring them with Polychromos pencils I decided that altho’ it looked OK it wasn’t quite right (maybe it was the texture of the card) so out came the low odour oils thinners to save the day or the image in this case.Couldn’t be bothered to root around for my paper stumps so grabbed some cheapie cotton buds that were to hand. They work quite well on a smaller image like this plus there isn’t that much cotton wool on them to suck up all the thinners. They’re great for blending pastel pencils and detailed areas with chalk too.One thing’s for certain you wouldn’t want them near any part of your body!I layered up some spotty paper onto some red card and added panels on all 4 sides and 1 each side of the top too.I decorated the binder clip I ‘won’ in a Christmas cracker (hoarding can be good sometimes) with more red card and a contrasting spotty paper that were tiny scrap pieces.I added some ribbon and wooden buttons threaded with paper twine to finish.I’ve filled it with jelly beans to give to my DH.He’s not one for sweets and chocolate much (what’s wrong with him!!) but he does like his jelly beans… 🙂

At Craft Your Passion this week the theme is ♥My Valentine♥.We have the fabulous BugabooStamps as our sponsor too. Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
For my card I’ve featured the cute Puppy Love – heart string by Bugaboo Stamps and coloured him with Copic Ciao Markers, adding white gel pen highlights plus 3D Crystal Lacquer to his nose and heart dangling from his tail.I made a shaped card for him by cutting out a kraft card blank with a Go Kreate die.I originally bought a small sized set in a sale and was lucky to find these bigger ones that I regretted not getting when I returned to my local craft warehouse 🙂 I cut more hearts from some Basic Grey paper, corrugated card, another kraft card blank and some hessian (burlap). The tag was a sticker from the same set as the paper.I just stamped the sentiment adhered it to another piece of kraft and trimmed around it to create the border.I added a heart shaped brad along with some faux suede strips. The red being some I’d bought from The Works and the tan cut from an old fringed belt my DD1 donated for use in my cardmaking 🙂 I had intended for this to be for my DH but I just know when Feb 14th gets closer the kiddies are going to want to include our dawgy in all the love ♥ so I think this one will be good enough for her too…LOL
How could anybody not love this face?
Or this nosey girl.LOL
These pics were taken at Christmas and she was just checking in case there was anything for her in my DD1’s Santa Sack.In the first pic she is posing in her new collar – see she didn’t get missed out. She’s so obliging when there’s a photo opportunity 😀

Normally on a Monday I’m quite excited to post the new Craft Your Passion challenge and I was also delighted to make this card with this sweet, sweet image but then I heard the sad news that Jacqui, creator of The Digi Garden designs and our sponsor for this week, had suddenly passed away.Although I never knew this lady personally I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences to her family and friends and my thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
I’ve added a link to her store, even though it is now closed,so that if you were not familiar with the site you may take a look at the endearing little characters. It would be lovely also if you took the time to peek at the rest of the Craft Your Passion DT’s cards and projects.I think they make a beautiful tribute. We are also welcoming our new members this week.
The challenge is to use Pastel Colours this week so I just had to go out and induldge in some items from the new Papermania Spots & Stripes Pastels collection.I’ve accented them with some pink and light coloured kraft card. And adding my own take on the theme I coloured this little cutie with Soft Pastel Pencils too.The flowers are die cut and have buttons tied with paper twine added to the centres. The sentiment is stamped directly onto the patterned paper.
