That’s the way the Cookie crumbles!

csdtnr6thapril16

This is my card I’ve made for Day 2 of the New Releases showcase at Crafty Sentiments Designs Inspirational Blog featuring Cookie – Let’s Eat and will be available at Crafty Sentiments Designs shop soon.

April New Release

Make sure you pay the inspirational blog a visit and check out all the wonderful creations the DT are sharing!

After stamping Cookie -Let’s Eat by Crafty Sentiments Designs onto kraft card I coloured this cutie up with Polychromos pencils to get a furry effect.Once the bowl had been coloured some 3D Crystal Lacquer has been applied for shine an dimension. His eyes and nose have been given the same treatment.I’ve teamed the image with some Authentique Celebrate papers. All corners on the layering have been punched. The sentiment has been stamped and each circle die cut.A trio of button topped die cut flowers decorate the bottom right hand corner and a length of ribbon stretched across the centre of the card. The little white ‘buckle’ to brighten the card is recycled from an old bra strap!Don’t worry it had been washed first 😛 LOL

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Calendars.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

I wanted to make a calendar with a bit more purpose to it for my DD2 as she’s in her final year at Secondary school and in colours to match her recently decorated room.I thought this little beauty,Delightful Flowers  by Crafty Sentiments Designs, was perfect. Not only could I colour that big bloom to coordinate with the décor she’s also a rabbit on the Chinese Zodiac.Apart from dogs she love bunnies too 🙂 I’ve coloured on kraft here with my Polychromos Pencils and painted over the centre of the flower with Iridescent Medium. This card was a real find at my local craft warehouse. It’s double sided!Usually with kraft you get a ‘grey’ side. Not so good for fancy folds and 3D projects. So I bought a whole box of it!!Well…don’t want to run out 😉

My DD2 is struggling with exam nerves so this little gift may cheer her up a bit. This is what you get inside…

csdt2nov10th

A few bits and bobs to help with that all important revision.I might find a little choccy to pop in there too nearer to the time of giving it to her.

The instructions can be found here.

Of course,to go with this she needs an extra accessory….

deskpuppy

Desk Puppy!Although she has a day bed in DD2’s room so she can be close to her she prefers to sit under the desk where she can snuggle up to her legs!Or get in the way…The choice is yours 😀

Guitaring Into Shape!

csdt14thapril 001

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Here’s the sweet Let’s Play Music by Crafty Sentiments Designs all coloured up with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.I’d seen these shaped cards for a while in my local craft warehouse and thought about getting them several times. Then the last time I was in there they were only £1.99 a pack!So into my basket they fell…just like that! Also treated myself to these pretty papers…and then those rather lovely cloud dies drifted off the shelf too 😉 I cut an aperture in the centre of the card base then added the cloud paper behind on foam tape for extra dimension. The butterfly paper was laid on top with a punched border, which I cut in half, peeking out from the edges.A full border was threaded with ribbon and placed across so that once fussy cut she could perch on it.I die cut the swirly cloud then cut the dotted frame one from some hammer card and also backed it with the middle from that to give more definition. The stamp,a magazine freebie, fitted the space at the top perfectly. Some little pearl flowers and more of the same ribbon have been added to finish the card off.My DD1 bought herself a guitar just after her last birthday so I thought this would be good for her next one.Roll on October….lol

003

The Christmas/Winter month long challenge at Just Some Lines is still going on.To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3!

I’ve printed this beautiful, serene Christmas Angel by Just Some Lines   directly onto the kraft card base using a verse editor for inserts as the template. The top half of her dress, face, hands, wings and hair have been coloured with Graph’It Markers.I just love how they’ve turned out 🙂 So pleased with the results. For the skirt I’ve paper pieced with some pretty Christmas DP and overlayed the floaty part with vellum. The star after being coloured first with a Graph’It Maker was glitzed up with some Stickles as was her halo.I’ve added a couple of strips of glittery self adhesive film, one die cut, topped with some wooden star buttons. They’ve been coated with more Stickles and threaded with paper twine. The sentiment has been stamped in the bottom left corner.

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Haberdashery Items. We have the fabulous Crafty Sentiments and Wild Rose Studio as our sponsors too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

For my card I’ve used the adorable Kaye – Thinking of You by Crafty Sentiments and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers.I’ve used a kraft card blank as the base and another for the die cut elements. This has teamed with some very pretty Papermania Vintage Notes papers. These have a lovely linen texture so thought they would be good to go with the theme 🙂 Apart from using various die cuts and punches I’ve layered up a few bits and pieces from the Vintage Notes collection (they came in the Goody Bag when they were first released). The little calendar and pink ticket were cut from a sheet of the paper.I went a teency bit crazy when it came to the sewing related items.I wonder if you can spot them all?!More to point I wonder if I can remember them all? 😉 Well…. there’s stitching(all hand done!),ribbons, lace, buttons, pins, snap fasteners, hook and eye fasteners, the felt for the flowers (yes,I’m counting that) and anything else you may have spotted that I’ve left off my list. Now the safety pin is a bit of a fraud as it’s a plastic embellishment my S-I-L gave me,along with some other stuff for my card making.I added it at the last moment but it does still tie in with the theme 😉

Swinging into Spring easel-y

We want to see your Easel Cards this week at Craft Your Passion. We have The Paper Shelter and Robin’s Nest as our fabby sponsors too!Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!

For my card I’ve used Spring Swing from The Paper Shelter. You get both a coloured image and an inked (outline) image.I’ve coloured the inked image using ProMarkers.I cut away around the little birdie and pushed his wing and tail up for more dimension, placing a piece of foam tape behind him.The edges have been inked with Distress Ink.First applied with an old make-up brush then depth was added by scrunching up a tissue and rubbing more ink round the edges.I couldn’t be bothered to get my Cut n Dry out and the results look pretty good to me!I decided to design the card to suit the shape of the image.I deliberately cut the top of the ropes off to give more of a natural flow. The pretty Spring papers were a freebie from Cardmaking and Papercraft mag.The flowers only go down the middle of the sheet so I die cut some matching flowers form the edges of the leftover piece. This is the first time I’ve used this die and I have to say I’m impressed how they turned out. Some gingham ribbon ans flower shaped gems complete the card.

I’m really in to making cards with the Spring feeling ATM.The weather was absolutely glorious yesterday and it’s set to continue today – at least! That’s the trouble with the UK  it could always be snowing by the end on the week!!

Seams sew pretty

The theme for this weeks challenge at Craft Your Passion is MONOCHROMATIC.The colour choice is yours –  just create away in your chosen tones.

For rules on how to play click on the link. You could also become the proud owner of some free digital stamps if you’re chosen as the winner! There’s some beautiful inspiration from the DT and GDT.If you’d like to join us as a guest please look under the Followers at the top of the page.

For my card I’ve used the Couture image from CoCoDingo, coloured it with Promarkers and applied  Distress Inks around the edges. I then coated the whole image in a fairly thick layer of Crackle Accents.Because this is quite a decent area to cover I gently spread it out with a plastic glue spreader – you know the type kiddies use (what that says about me I don’t know?!).As this isn’t as thick as Glossy Accents it tends to dry flatter and with the crackle effect it doesn’t really show any drag marks.Once it was dry I sponged some Antique Linen Distress Ink into the cracks then buffed off the excess with a soft tissue.Wish I’d taken a close up pic but too late I’ve posted it now!I just love these Papermania Persimmon papers and I got it at a discount too – so even better!I thought there would be nothing better to finish this off than with some threaded buttons, lace, pins and a sewing label. This is actually part of a free printable set from Craft Stamper Magazine. There are lots of other Vintage Downloads too.Just click on Resources and then Vintage Downloads.
