Going dotty!

There’s nothing like leaving it to the last minute – it’s my speciality!!

I’ve just gone to enter this card and realised I’ve missed the deadline for I Love Promarkers:(

I followed this sketch:Plus they wanted to see spots/dots.

These are the challenges I’m not too late for:

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge : Pink,Green and Flowers

Creative Card Crew Challenge : Going Dotty

Totally Papercrafts : Pink and Green

The Pixie Cottage: Circles

Sew Many Challenges : Let’s Punch It

I’ve used a Diane Duda  image I acquired in a swap. This one is called Believe. She’s been coloured with Promarkers.Highlights have been added using a white gel pen and although it doesn’t show in the pic I have gone over the wings, crowns and star with a clear glitter pen.The papers are Making Memories and the card is Core’dinations So Mod.She’s been mounted onto a Nellie’s Multi Frame Die from the Recangles set and the slider has also been cut from the same set.I’ve used a Martha Stewart Flower Punch and Stamp set to create the flowers around the edge of the frame. They were part of a recent QVC  TSV and I have to admit I was quite nervous using them for the first time. But I needn’t have worried they were a delight to use and breezed through the card.I shall definitely have to make more use of them! Some brads from my stash have been added to the centres.I was going to add brads to the ends of the strips but none seemed to be the right shade of pink.I’ve also noticed a lot of people seem to be using ‘Card Candy’ in their place on their cards so I thought I’d try making my own.I used a plier punch to cut the circles then turned them over onto a foam mat and embossed them with a large ball tool. They’ve been adhered with Glue Dots. The sentiment is from an old See D’s set.The ribbon is from a £1 pack that can be found in The Works or QD branches.

Getting ahead!

I used this super cute image from Bee Crafty. They were giving it away as a freebie. They’ve been coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment is part of  a past freebie by Pollycraft. The papers are K & Co and the card is the gorgeous, shimmery Gemstones by Core’dinations. The buttons are a selection from my Bag- o-Buttons by Autumn Leaves. The ribbon is from my birthday cake ( which was earlier this month).I echoed the sketch on the bottom of this easel card.I used a Lip Pattern corner punch,a Square Nellie’s Multi Frame Die to cut the piece the image is on and a Sizzix Lace Edging Decorative Strip.I made the border deeper on the top section by adding an extra piece of card and hid the join with the ribbon.

Eeek!I’ve used THREE buttons on this card!I always have mixed emotions about using them.I LOVE using them but I HATE giving them away.Still,at least we won’t drown in the ever increasing sea of them in our house and it will give me the perfect excuse to buy some more!!

Totally Gorjuss: Ribbon

Fab ‘n’ Funky: It’s all new ( use something new )

The ABC Challenge: Q for Quotation

Caardvarks: Lace

I just love these Mouser-kins stamps so much I just had to use one again! She’s such a darling isn’t she?I thought I’d go for a much softer look by using tonal colours. She’s been coloured with Promarkers and the edges have had Tea Dye,Tattered Rose and Aged Mahogany Distress Ink applied. The quote from Hero Arts Anytime Messages sheet has been edged in the same colours. Both pieces have been cut using Nellie’s Multi Frames Dies Ovals and Squares. The paper is K & Co and the corners are cut using an inverted corner punch. To embellish the card I have used a length of Raffia Lace,a piece of ribbon,a button from the fabulous Bag-o-Buttons (it has a large hole in the middle so I was able to thread both ends of the ribbon through before tying) and a Papermania brad from the Reds and Pinks pack.I decided to make the embellishments the elements at the bottom on the original sketch and kind of pile them one on top of the other. And take note I’ve used ANOTHER button!!Just the one this time I’ve got to make them last you know.

Voluptumouse Lady

The challenge at I Love Promarkers was to follow a sketch with a twist where you weren’t allowed to use backing papers and  to create your own.

Here is the sketch:

I’ve used another Mouser-kins from Faerie Song Rubber Art Stamps.Isn’t she gorgeous. She’s so curvy and certainly no skinny Minnie (Mouse)!Coloured with Promarkers and the butterflies have been given some sparkle with a clear glitter pen.I’ve also used some Fantasy Fibres to give the wings a fairy-like glisten.

As per usual I found it  difficult to capture it but here’s a close up anyway:

If you click on the pic it will take you to a closer view.

With all the shimmery stuff going on I’m entering this for Pollycraft Monday Challenge where the theme is ‘Sparkly things’,a second entry for S2G Challenges ‘Pastels’,Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge ‘Spring has Sprung’ theme,Lots To Do ‘Springtime’, Our Creative Corner to create a Spring/Easter card,Allsorts ‘Spring is in the air’, Stamp Simply to create a clean and simple card with texture and Pile it on ‘Pastels’.

The background has been made using a Big ‘n’ Juicy ink pad in Gumdrop, some flower stamps from the above set,Versamark, clear embossing powder and a brayer.Everthing has been matted onto Core’dinations Gemstones card.I stamped the sentiment onto the ribbon with Versacraft ink and adhered the butterfly to it using silicone glue. Some square gems add the finishing touches.I also used Nestabilities Labels 1 and a large corner rounder punch.

A Few of my Favourite Things

It was Lauren’s turn to set last weeks challenge at the Let’s Get Stamping group on Craftbubble. Here’s the sketch:

A twist of ‘Favourite Things’  had also been thrown into the equation. With that in mind I knew exactly which stamp I was going to plump for. She’s called Dreamer (a Sugar Nellie from Funky Kits) and that’s precisely what I am!I’ve teamed her with some of my favourite products too:Promarkers, white gel pen,Stickles,Papermania Textured card and a Lip Pattern corner punch.I love these K & Co papers so much. The colours, the faux stitching, flowers, scallops, spots and stripes.

A close up of the Stickles:

I love creating cards with texture. Here I’ve used some jute ribbon, the D’vine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder with some sanding and Tea Dye Distress Ink swiped over the top.A threaded button has also been added. It’s a real shame it was so dull and grey here yesterday as the detail on the button really doesn’t show. It’s actually debossed with a flower design.

I adore this colour combo and it reminds of the Sun in the Summer sky. There’s also a chocolate and flower undercurrent running through this card. And who doesn’t love to receive them as a gift?!

Twinkle,Twinkle

This card started out as an entry for Passion for ProMarkers but ended up being one for quite a few more. The original challenge was any colours and a sketch:

The other challenges are as follows:

C.R.A.F.T. – Nursery Rhymes – I’ve opted for Twinkle,Twinkle Little Star.

Ooh La La Creations – Anything Goes

Rosie D’s – Think Spring

Pile it on – Pastel Colours

Cupcake Craft Challenges – Going Green

Crafty Angels – Hearts and Lace

S2G Challenges – Pastels

Die Cut Dreams – Pack a Punch

Simon Says – St.Patrick’s Day/A splash of green

I’m sooo excited to show off my new stamp!! She’s sooo adorable!!She’s actually part of a stamp plate called Mouser-kins from Faerie Song Rubber Art Stamps. She’s been coloured with a selection of Promarkers and has ( although it doesn’t show ) clear Atyou Spica on the star.As the base card I’ve used is cream I toned down the whiteness of the card I stamped the image onto using Old Paper Distress Ink and gave some definition to the edges with the Tan Promarker. All papers are K & Co and the card is Papermania Textured.I’ve also used some raffia lace and grosgrain ribbon.Although it’s not on the sketch I couldn’t resist using a button especially as it matched so perfectly.I love these ones with the big hole in the middle and as much as it grieves me I REALLY need to use some of my button stash up before they take over the whole house.I’ve got buttons like you’d never believe!!I’ve also used my Lip Pattern Punch and a Martha Stewart Zig Zag Edge Punch.

Party Animals!

I made this for the ‘Celebrations!’ challenge at Cute Card Thursday and Die Cut Dreams ‘Pack a Punch’ where you had to use at least two hand punches.I went for a simple layout as I wanted these happy little chaps to stand out.I don’t know the name of this stamp as I got the image in a swap but I do know it’s Penny Black! They’ve been coloured with Promarkers.I used some offcuts of Basic Grey Cupcake papers and some card from my stash. The punches I used are a small corner rounder,a star corner from a set I bought ages ago and a film strip.I only used part of this one to create the holes and then threaded some ribbon cut from a couple of  new tops I bought. They’re the pieces that are used to keep them on the hangers. The sentiment is from an old See D set.

A little bird…

This adorable little fella is called Alfie and the Post Box and is a download available from Willow Designs.Sharon Armstrong who designed him also runs the Willow Sketchie Challenge where each week there is a draw with the chance of winning one of her fabulous downloads. That’s exactly how I acquired this chirpy chap.So why not head on over and take a chance?

This is the sketch set by DT member Rosie:

As you can see I’ve turned it on it’s head. All backing papers have been mounted onto Papermania textured card and the edges have been ditressed.I printed the Alifie Pumpkin Floral paper onto linen textured card to create a border with it and cut out two faux buttons, threaded with waxed cord, from it too.I printed two different sized toppers onto the same type of card and layered them twisting the bottom one so that the stripes were horizontal.Even though they are pre-coloured I couldn’t resist getting the Promarkers out to shade the image and to go around the edges to give more definition. The sentiment is from a set I bought when I first started stamping a few years ago and it’s the first time I’ve used it!!

Are you sitting comfortably?

Then we’ll begin.

This little lady is Dungaree Milly by Pink Gem Designs and she has been coloured using Promarkers. She is also  my entry for I Love Promarkers where DT member Karen has set a sketch challenge and would also like to see you include some embossing on your work. Here’s the sketch:

I’ve mirrored the sketch.Originally I was just going to use my Martha Stewart Zig Zag Edger Punch as that embosses as well as cuts but didn’t think I’d get away with it.So after selecting these Making Memories papers I decided to run a piece of co-ordinating  vellum through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.I cut Milly out and mounted her onto  a piece of Papermania Textured card that had been cut with a Nellie Snellen Eastern Oval Multi-Frames Die,passed through the Textile Cuttlebug embossing folder then lightly sanded.

Have you counted the buttons?Even the ones holding together her dignity and dungarees are real mini ones. The others are from a rather gorgeous Bag-O-Buttons collection called Savannah.Being a total Buttonista it’s extremely difficult to let these babies go but I’m sure they will go to a good home *sniff* I think I need to lie down now!

Feeling a bit distressed

This was the sketch for last weeks Sketchie Challenge for the Let’s Get Stamping group at Craftbubble:

Along with sketch DT member Karen set the twist of using some distressing. So out came the Tim Holtz Paper Distresser and Distress Inks. The image is from Tanda Stamps Transport Set 1 and is stamped using Versafine in Sepia.Next I applied Old Paper,Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Inks to the Nestabilities cut Oval. Then I splashed a little water over it and dabbed it with a clean, dry tissue to remove some ink to give it that well worn look ( a bit like me first thing in the morning!).Next I stamped the compass from Tanda Stamps Travel Set 1,applied the same inks and gave it a coating of Crackle Accents, even though it doesn’t show too well in the piccie. While I was waiting for it to dry I assembled the rest of the card. The base card was inked and I used part of a Cornish Heritage Farms Cracked Montana Earth Backgrounder on the corners. The Papermania Textured card and K & Co papers have had the ink and Distress Tool treatment.I tore part of one of the papers, punched some holes and threaded some waxed cord through.I can’t take credit for this idea.I saw in on A Passion For Cards blog first.I took a length of ribbon and scorched it with my heat gun, causing it to burn around the edges and buckle.Once the compass was dry I added it using foam tape.

I’m also entering Die Cut Dreams ‘No Flowers Allowed’,Ooh-La-La-Creations ‘Anything Goes’,Stamp,Scrap & Doodle Saturdays ‘Open Challenge’ and Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge ‘ Anything Goes’ with this card.
