Christmas Kisses

jsldectagch

I’m guesting for the Just Some Lines Facebook Challenge again 🙂 To enter the December Tag It! Challenge you need to create a tag.The other stipulation is that you must use a Just Some Lines image. But with so many beauties in the store it wouldn’t be difficult to choose! My card, along with other wonderful inspiration and extra details on how to enter, can be found on the Just Some Lines Blog too.

This is Sweet Amber – Mistletoe by Just Some Lines. She’s been printed onto kraft card and coloured with Polychromos Pencils. The tag and layers have been created with a Go Kreate die set as the tag dies I have weren’t really big enough but I think this shape works well. The patterned paper is a freebie,The sentiment was stamped and cut with one of my tag die sets.A strip of natural hessian ribbon has been placed behind Amber to give some texture. To keep with the rustic element some jute twine has been threaded through the top of the tag along with some ribbon that has been recycled from last years Christmas cake 🙂

Fairy-ly Blue (and Silver!)

I’m super excited to be sharing a card that I’ve made as a Guest Designer for the Just Some Lines Facebook Challenge. To enter the November Colour Scheme Challenge you need to use any combination of red, green, silver and blue. You may choose just one or two with other colours as long as the listed ones are the main. The other stipulation is that you must use a Just Some Lines image. But with so many beauties in the store it wouldn’t be difficult to choose! My card, along with other wonderful inspiration and extra details on how to enter, can be found on the Just Some Lines Blog too.

You can find the stunning Christmas Fairy at Just Some Lines.I decided to go with a blue/silver combo but as you can see there is a teeny amount of red and green on the image. Her dress has been paper pieced and the rest coloured with Copic Ciao Markers.Being a fairy her wings had to have the obligatory glitter 😀 I coloured them in cool greys first to keep in with the silver part of the theme then coated them in Glamour Dust. The dots on her hair and wings have been defined with a silver pearl pen and the berries on the garland the robin is nestling in with Liquid Pearls. Here’s a closer view :

jslgdtnov 001closeup

The papers and cardstock I’ve had for more years than I care to remember but were just perfect for this project. It’s a good job I’m such a crafty hoarder 😉 Maybe one day I will get through my entire stash – well,in my dreams perhaps! After stamping and punching the sentiment out I thought it was lacking something so I hit upon the idea of framing it with the punched out snowflakes from the border. Not only does this keep everything coordinated it also doesn’t cover up too much else.A length of silver cord with a snowflake charm tied to seemed to finish the whole thing off nicely 🙂

Tip : By paper piecing your image you can coordinate it to the rest of your project and it’s a good way of covering a large area if you are unsure about colouring it.

So bought myself some new kraft card to play with and I’m quite pleased with it.I wanted to practise colouring with my Polychromos some more and this delightful little fella,Back 2 School Bird by Just Some Lines was just the ticket. They worked a treat but I think I still need more practice…sounds like good excuse to get in some extra crafting! For the transparent parts I went for an acetate card base, epoxy button stickers and, altho’ it doesn’t show up,3D Crystal Lacquer. The problem was trying not to get a refection of me taking the pic in the acetate!Anyway I kind of went for a School/Birthday/Office Supplies hybrid -and it looks like I achieved it 😀

I can’t take all the credit for this card.I had a lot of help from my DS2 especially with the colouring. After showing him how to blend Polychromos pencils on the top of Emo Cowboy by Just Some Lines’  hat he did it by himself, well with just a little interference guidance from me 🙂 He picked it it up so quickly and was pleased with the results. For the rest of the card we picked out these cowboy themed papers and some corrugated card. The horseshoe was cut from one of the papers and some brads were added to it.We also decorated the rest of the card with a few more. The sentiment came from a set that was a magazine freebie, trimmed into a banner shape.

We’re taking a little Summer Break at Just Some Lines. But never fear will we be back!!

I would also like to thank everyone who played along. It’s been a real pleasure looking at all your cards/projects 😀

Here are a couple of cards I made featuring Emo Allium and Emo Daffodil .You can find these gorgeous gals at Just Some Lines. Both have been printed onto watercolour paper and, yes you’ve guessed it,watercoloured!I got out the AquaMarkers for a little play…The sentiments were also stamped onto offcuts of the  paper and painted in the same way 🙂 I chose these fetching My Mind’s Eye A Beautiful Life papers to compliment them, enhancing the plainer panel pieces with some embossing.I stood each on a short length of ribbon and added punched border along with a duo of die cuts. These are intended to be for my DS2’s Teacher and TA even tho’ the term doesn’t finish until July.Nothing like getting ahead 😀 I usually scrabble about at the last minute, handing them in as the glue is drying!!Altho’ I haven’t got the presents organised…yet 😉 These young ladies may also appear on a handcrafted gift or maybe a tag later…

Well,we’re into another week of the month long Flowers challenge at Just Some Lines. To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3 🙂

Here’s the adorable Emo Basket by Just Some Lines who just also happens to be this month’s freebie. You can find her here. She’s been coloured up with Graph’It Markers in warm, sunny hues.Looking at the weather we’ve had this week that was just wishful thinking!!The papers are some I’ve had for longer than I care to remember and I’m totally on a mission to use my vast stacks of paper up – even tho’ there is great temptation out there and I’m finding it difficult to resist 😉 The only piece of yellow ribbon (not a colour I use very often) in my stash was too acid a shade. So I changed the cream one I found by first going over in Lemon 1130 then Cream 1210 to tone it down.A pretty good match for the cardstock don’tcha think?I punched out some flowers and gave them blingy centres 🙂 The sentiment is a freebie stamp and I just love this font 😀 Let’s hope this brings on the sunshine!!

There’s a Pixie in my Tea!

jsldt17thmay

**Please click on the pic for a clearer view. For some reason they always look a little blurry on the blog page 😦  **

It’s the third week of the month long Flowers challenge at Just Some Lines. To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3 🙂

I’ve taken the delightful Pixie Floats by Just Some Lines and coloured her with Polychromos Pencils. The tea was blended out with oils thinners and a paper stump to give a more translucent feel.I added some white gel pen ripples. The tea cup and handle have been paper pieced with a floral rose paper as if the tea has been served in the best china.I remember my Grandma doing just this whenever we went to visit 🙂 I chose a doily patterned and coordinating rose paper to go with this, keeping to the whole tea time theme.I created an overlapping tab by trimming down a die cut.To this I added a sentiment from the same collection. The bow and leaves have been die cut from felt then topped with a resin rose. The ticket was hand cut from another paper in the set and tucked in underneath 🙂

Oh my it’s been quite a while since I’ve been able to add anything to my blog.My PC can’t connect to the internet ATM.So frustrating!!Have been allowed the use of  my DH’s laptop but the connection failed there too for a while 😦 My computer is still out of action and I’m feeling pretty cut up about it.Nor am I relishing the thought of having to get it repaired.Oh why did it have to go wrong?!

Have you scene Spring?

jsldt12thapril

So we’re now into week two of the Think Spring  challenge at  Just Some Lines. To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3 🙂

I created a little scene combining the adorable Emo Layla Gardener 2  and the butterfly and Snowdrops from Emo Amber Springtime Value Set by Just Some Lines .All coloured up with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers 🙂 Tried out a freebie embossing folder that came with  the latest Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine on some Whitewash card.Works beautifully 😀 Couple of pieces of torn paper cover the corners. The Raffia Lace has been attached with coloured staples. The bottom right corner of the image was looking a little bare so I stamped part of the greeting there and added cut up pieces of the other half, tucking them in behind the image.I popped a cute little wooden clothes peg on too  🙂 As I had dusted off a box of seldom used punches for another project I grabbed the heart to make a flower, having drawn inspiration from the butterfly’s wings. To the centre a paper twine threaded button has been added.I think it turned out rather cute and full of the joys of Spring…do you?
