Bert Will You Remember My Birthday?

wscdt24thjan 001

The theme is Happy Birthday.Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and/or theme. This week there is a special mystery prize from Willow Designs for one lucky person! As well as a winner (chosen randomly) there will be a hand picked Top 3 and they will receive a super cute badge for their blog.Don’t forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.

For my card I’ve used the adorable Wilbert with Flowers Digital Stamp by Willow Designs and coloured him with Copic Ciao Markers. He’s even been given a cute shiny nose courtesy of some 3D Crystal Lacquer. He’s been layered up with some pretty magazine freebie papers.Wasn’t quiet sure how I was going to incorporate the one with the frame into my cardmaking but I think it works well here 🙂 I stamped the sentiment onto a coordinating chipboard piece and inked the raffia lace border in the same shade of Memento – it was a tad too pink before.Three square buttons have been added to compliment the  chipboard shape and complete the look.

**Lately I’m finding my pics look a little blurry on my blog page. Not sure if they are that way for you but if you click on it a much clearer view of my project shows.Thanks.**

For my card I’ve used the adorable George Having a nap  Digital stamp by Willow Designs. He’s been coloured with ProMarkers.I’ve teamed him with some of my fave Willow Designs papers,Crazy Daisy downloadable paper collection.Love these with kraft 🙂 Distressed all the edges and drawn in some faux stitching. The flowers, part of the paper set, have had Crackle Accents added to the centres.I thought George would make a good get well image but he’s so cute he’d be great for any occasion.I’ve mirrored the sketch and er… NOT because I cut the papers wrong *cough cough* 😉

‘Bearly’ time to do the garden!

wscdt10thjan 001

It’s the lovely Dawn’s turn to host at Willow Sketchie Challenge this week and here’s her fabby sketch :

The theme is In the Garden.Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and/or theme. You could be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend at Willow Designs too! As well as a winner (chosen randomly) there will be a hand picked Top 3 and they will receive a super cute badge for their blog.Don’t forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.

For my card I’ve used Taking a snoooooze digital stamp by Willow DesignsWho wouldn’t rather catch 40 winks than mow the lawn etc. – me for one 😉 I’ve trimmed it down using a nestie and the Out-of the-Box technique to allow his newspaper to dangle over the edge. He’s been coloured with ProMarkers and 3D Crystal Lacquer has added shine to the lenses on his specs.I was very naughty and picked up this New Leaf  pad at my local craft warehouse. One thing I wasn’t buying this year was MORE papers to add to the copious amount I already own…but…when they’re half price you have to to don’t you?Don’t you?!And of course I had to pick up a Boho Chic one as well 🙂 Not one to pass up on a bargain, especially a crafty one!I added an embossed piece of cardstock to break up the patterns and wrapped it with some natural raffia.Altho’ this is meant to be a Christmas design folder I think it works well with garden/nature themed cards all year round. The sign is die cut and stamped with a sentiment, the brads are purely for decoration. The snap is from a set I bought in a craft sale last Summer, well 2 actually as they were a good price, and it’s the first time I’ve used one! They do go beautifully with these papers tho’ so I’m sure they will get out and about more 😉

For my card I’ve used one of the illustrations from the Polly Pickleberry CD-rom by Willow Designs and coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers. The yellow gingham frame and sentiment came as part of this image.I printed one of the backing papers from the same CD-rom directly onto the card base and the lilac gingham onto some card to add as a backing to the main image plus a piece for the border.I used a pretty daisy punch along one edge and criss crossed it with some paper twine.I added a couple of wooden flower buttons threaded with more of the paper twine. to keep in with the rustic theme of the card.

Supplies :

‘Owl’ Celebrate with You

wscdt20thdec

It’s my turn to host at Willow Sketchie Challenge this week and here’s my sketch :

WSC 20th Dec 2

The Theme is ‘Let’s Celebrate’.So any occasion worth celebrating.Could be Christmas,New Year,Birthdays etc…well you get the picture 🙂  Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and/or theme.

For my card I’ve used Quick Card Panel 1 and a backing paper from the Polly Pickleberry CD-rom both by Willow Designs.I’ve teamed them with with some pretty pearlescent  card.Rather than a punched border I decided to use a bunting die.Yet another seldom used ‘must have’.I found these cute ‘n’ quirky clear flower buttons at my local craft warehouse and just had to use ’em!I also added some Stickles to the flower centres on the panel.

Supplies :

Quick Christmas Cat-ch up

wscdt13thdec 001

At Willow Sketchie Challenge  it’s the lovely Kelly’a turn to host and here is her fabby sketch :

The them is Quick and Easy Makes.Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and/or theme.

For my card I’ve chosen the theme only, even tho’ the sketch is brilliant,so I could incorporate this fab Quick Card Panel by Willow Designs into it.This one is Panel 3 and has been printed onto some lovely hammer card I found in my stash.I did add touches of a Copic Atyou Spica pen but it doesn’t want to show in the photo 😦 I notched the corners at the top and added some metallic brads to go with the fab jingle bells. Not only are they perfect for a Christmas theme they suit this cute kitty well too.I tied them to the ribbon with some thread type stuff I bought from the jewelry making section at my local craft warehouse. It actually has a plastic core so it holds it’s shape really well.I slotted another, off cut, folded piece of ribbon behind to give a holly like appearance.Ta-dah!There you have it one quick and easy make!

Supplies :

Image : Quick Card Panel 3 by Willow Designs
Medium : Clear Copic Atyou Spica pen (even tho’ it doesn’t show)
Card : Hammer card from Southfield Textured 12 X 12 pack,Green card from Kars Christmas Collection

A great ad-vintage

wscdt6thdec` 001

It’s the lovely Anne-Marie’s turn to host at Willow Sketchie Challenge this week and here’s her fabby sketch :

The theme is Vintage.Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and/or theme.

For my card I’ve used one of the brilliant Quick Card Panels by Willow Designs .These are just great for those moments in our lives when we need to get a card finished in a flash. And so perfect for giving you a helping hand with your Christmas cards! The beauty of these, being digital,is that you can resize them to suit.Of course you can use them as they are, pretty them up or just have a good old play. For my card I’ve used Panel 2 and printed it onto kraft.I’ve also done the same with a backing paper from the Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD-rom.Keeping with the vintage theme I’ve applied Distress Inks to the edges and roughed them up with a Paper Distresser.Altho’ the panels have a contemporary feel it shows the versatility and how you can adapt them to fit a certain style depending on what you do with them!I spritzed my glass mat with some water and mopped up the inks  left on there with some vintage seam binding berfore adding it to my card.I dug out a little used embossing folder for some texture, not sure why – it’s lovely 🙂 To finish I tied a button with some natural waxed thread which grunged up a little with some more ink.

Supplies :

Image : Quick Card Panel 2 by Willow Designs
Backing paper : From Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD-rom by Willow Designs
Card : Green Bazzill Basics,Papermania Kraftstax 8×8
Medium : Forest Moss and Aged Mahogany  Distress Inks

Hat’ll be a cool Yule

It’s the lovely Dawn’s turn to host this week at Willow Sketchie Challenge and here’s her fabby sketch :

She has also set the theme of Blue,White,Silver.Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and/or theme.

For my card I’ve used the super cool Walter in a Pom Pom Hat digital stamp and a backing paper from the Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD-rom by Willow Designs.I’ve coloured young Walter with ProMarkers and added some sparkly, tinsely stuff I got as a freebie from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine either from last year or possibly the year before.Yipes!I cut him out and layered him onto a die cut that I’d passed through an embossing folder.I chose some lovely textured card from my stash that has a softer sheen rather than a full on silver.I added some die cut snowflakes topped with a gem to keep the cold, snowy theme going.

Supplies :

Image & Paper : Walter and Winnie does Christmas  CD-rom by Willow Designs
Colouring Medium : ProMarkers
Card : Papermania Christmas Collection 8 x 8 Card
Tools : X-Cut guillotine,Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Scallop Circles,Marianne Design Snowflakes,Cuttlebug Snowflakes Embossing Folder,Big Shot,Decoupage Scissors
To Embellish : Papermania Clear Adhesive Stones

Storage to ‘die’ for :

I’ve been hankering after some better storage since collecting the ProMarkers Limited Edition Seasonal Colours. My poor ol’ plastic box was overflowing to the point of losing a few pens in my cupboard plus it was difficult to keep pawing through and tipping them out to search for the colours I needed.Trouble is I forfeited the rights to a craft room by choosing to have too many children! So I have to keep everything in the bedroom.I’d been looking at these type of cases for a long time but boy are they expensive – even on that well known auction site.I came across these larger ones at Maplin but again price was an issue. So I just kept watching and waiting…..until they came down to a bargainous price.I downloaded a complete colour chart from Sarah Hurley’s blog (Thank you!) and as I had room added my Flexmarker, chart from Letraset, collection along with some Fine Liners.I might add some coloured dots to the ends of the ProMarkers but I’ve been quite good at locating the right wallets and putting the pens back in order so far.

I even bought a second to house my dies and folders. How much better than keeping them in a bag with the original packaging falling about around them.Hate to admit but some of the dies are still floating about in the cupboard somewhere but once found they will be added too. Some of the dies were a little too wide for the holders so I snipped down the sides a little to allow them to fit.Not sure if they will tear but to be honest you get so many it could easily be replaced.I even managed to get some extra large dies on their magnetic sheet in.You can see the top of the black sheet poking out but there is enough clearance when the lid is shut.I got my small embossing folders into more of the wallets and hung those behind my dies. The larger folders and Sizzix Bigz are laid beside those. There is still a little hanging space at the front of the second row if I want to expand my small folder collection and plenty if I want to stack anymore large ones.I slotted in my few Decorative Strips behind the bars in the lid.I have to say these are large 500 CD storage cases so they are quite hefty and the one with the dies in is not so lightweight. They are a little like treasure chests – yes that’s exactly what they are or should that be Arrr! But if you live in the UK and are looking at these DJ Flight cases and have the space they are definitely worth considering (would recommend the free delivery .Only takes a couple of days)The promotion is on until 31/12/12.No connection just a happy customer!
