A Sweet Elf :)

Here’s the utterly adorable Candy Elf A by A Day For Daisies.Thought I’d try a non-traditional Christmas colour palette along with a different colour combo rather than just grab my usual favourite pens.As a starting point to the card I wanted to try an idea with these recently received magazine freebie stamps.So out came the kraft card and some white embossimg powder plus my Versamark pad.Have to say I’m pretty impressed with the results,not only from the quality of the stamps but the embossing powder too.A die cut poinsettia topped with a jute twine threaded button and some pompom trim have been added as finishing touches.I did stamp and heat emboss a greeting at the bottom of the card and enhanced it with chalks,but the camera has failed to pick it up.Also it has failed to show the shine on the sweetie given by the 3D Crystal Lacquer I applied.It all looks so much better IRL…never mind as the little elf really deserves to be the star of the show 😉

This is actually a card for NEXT Christmas (2017) as I’ve already finished all those for this year 😀

**I’m late posting this as I had no internet yesterday – again!Big thumbs down to Talk Talk 😦 **

For my little friend Acorn Hugs by Sami Stamps I’ve used my Polychromos pencils to colour him up giving him a furry effect and texture to the acorn.Blending solution and a paper stump have been applied to give the cup and background a smoother appearance.White Soufflé pen has been added for the highlights and,although it doesn’t show in the pic,3D Crystal Lacquer coats his eyes,nose and acorn.Quite a simplistic design using dies,paper distresser,jute twine and wooden embellishments along with these fabulous papers in Autumnal hues.

Hitting the books?It’s a Cinch!

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Back to School.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

I’ve combined Hitting the Book with Stairs and Books by Crafty Sentiments Designs.All coloured up with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.Some 3D Crystal Lacquer has been applied to the lenses on her glasses and for once you can see where the camera has picked up the shine 🙂 I decide to pull out my Cinch and make a 5″ x 7″ notebook from scratch!!Very ashamed to say that when I dragged it out from the back of the cupboard the dispatch year was 2010!I’ve only used it twice before too.Really going to have make more use of it as it’s a great tool…but then I say that about everything…perhaps I buy too much craft stuff.Nah!That could never be 😉 The covers are made from a kraft card that is nice and sturdy.I wanted to use up some bits and pieces from my craft stash so pulled out these paper scraps along with some self adhesive fabric to die cut for the floral scalloped border and a journaling card all from the same collection.Following the trend to make some use of craft stash that was hanging around I grabbed some glittery paper,a self adhesive border (wasn’t quite long enough so cut it in half and placed behind the image) and some sparkly flowers.The creative words I made on my Dymo Embossing Labelmaker.I love the interchangeable wheels on this one 🙂 Another tool I need to make more use of : P The wire has been decorated with some ribbons to match the papers and image.This is for my DD2 who starts 6th Form next month.It can sit on her desk so she can jot down any ideas or draw in it when she has time.It’s far too nice to be crammed in a bag!

In the swim

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Kids.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

I started by giving Josh – Underwater by Crafty Sentiments Designs a coating of Pebeo Drawing Gum then created some undersea ripples with a few blue Distress Inks and the torn edge of a piece of copier paper,when it had dried.Once that was done I rubbed off the masking fluid and coloured him with Copic Ciao Markers followed by  some 3D Crystal Lacquer on his goggles and the bubbles.I cut a frame from some textured card using one of my new dies 🙂 This was mounted onto the card front with foam tape for added dimension.I printed the sentiment,made by me in Word,onto more of the same card and that was also mounted on foam tape.A few dew drops were dotted around to complete the watery feel.

Having a Splashing Time on Hochanda ;)

     

I have had the honour of making a couple of samples for Suzette from Crafty Sentiments Designs for the Hochanda shows at 11 am and 3 pm on the 5th June.

It would be lovely if you could tune in and share the talented DT’s hard work.Plus Suzette’s fantastic demos of course 🙂

For my first card I’ve coloured up Splashing with Polychromos Pencils on kraft card.The puddle and splashes have been painted over with Iridescent Medium,a few touches of white gel pen and 3D Crystal Lacquer have been added too!The pics show my Kick Stand Card folded flat,open and a close up of the stamp.

Now on to my second card…

Splashing has been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers this time.Some more white gel pen to add a little shine to the pup’s nose along with some glittery ripples in the puddle.This time I’ve made a Shaped Tent Fold card by only die cutting up to the fold then embossing the rest using a stitch effect die.

I think by using different mediums and colours it shows the versatility of this darling,fun stamp 🙂

Shakin’ Owl Over!

Here’s my second Guest Designer card for Imagine That!Digis by Kris! at their Creative Playground Challenge for this month.The theme is Time for a Sketch and it runs from May 7th – June 3rd.Stop on by the blog to check out all the wonderful inspiration there!

This time I’ve followed the sketch as it is.As Birthday Bash KD Kit by Imagine That!Digis by Kris is so much fun I thought I’d carry on that flavour by adding a shaker element- not just any old shaker element,a bingo card one at that!Once I’d prepared it I filled it with lovely,shiny sequins 🙂 I printed the cute pre-coloured owl also from the set,fussy cut and added 3D Crystal Lacquer to eyes to make them even more googly!I layered the sentiment digitally onto the brad using Word and coated that with 3D Crystal Lacquer also (even if the camera has failed to pick it up).The chevron paper was selected from the kit to match my little owl friend.I hand cut three banner strips and added brads to them just for a little extra touch.The band across the top was embossed to create interest.It was a real joy working with this set 🙂

It Mouse-t be Your Birthday ;)

Here’s the adorable Vase Mouse by Sasayaki Glitter.The flowers,fallen petals and heart on the flowerpot have all been paper pieced.The little mouse,soil and flower pot have been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.I did apply some 3D Crystal Lacquer to his,eyes nose and the heart but it decided to be camera shy!A variety of stitch edged dies have been used to add to the cuteness.The sentiment has been stamped onto the shaped card base.A few flat back pearls and a length of grosgrain ribbon have been added as the finishing touches.Sweet 🙂

A spot of colour :)

Well,here is my second card as Guest Designer for Imagine That!Digis by Kris! at their Creative Playground Challenge.The theme this month is Spring and it runs from April 2nd – May 6th.Stop on by the blog to check out all the wonderful inspiration there!

I thought I’d go creative with the colours on this cutie from the Ladybugs set by Imagine That!Digis by Kris and make him really swing too!I made an aperture tent card and once I’d coloured the image with Copic Ciao Markers along with some white gel pen highlights I fussy cut it.There are also touches of  3D Crystal Lacquer on his eyes,nose and the ends of his antennae.The branch is cut freehand then the image is attached using jump rings to allow him to swing freely.The sentiment is from the same set and the colourful papers are Blossoms & Bugs Digi Papers which compliment the Ladybugs perfectly.A scattering of die cut flowers with micro bead centres and a couple of bows to finish everything off 🙂

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Stanley – Happy Days by Crafty Sentiments Designs certainly looks like he has plenty to celebrate!He’s a new release digi stamp too!!A double celebration then 😀 I’ve coloured him up with a number of mediums.Stanley,the bottle and cork have been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.Metallic ProMarkers in Gold and Silver give the label a foiled look.Stardust Pen give the hearts a glittery touch and some extra fizz has been given to the Champagne bubbles with a Graph’It Shake Marker.A few white gel pen highlights  and 3D Crystal Lacquer add shine to the bottle and Stanley’s nose.There…I think that’s it 😉 For the rest of the card I’ve used some patterned paper and wooden wording from paper of a Stampin’ Up prize I won in a draw at Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine’s website.Such a lovely surprise to have that drop through my door!The wooden star buttons and twine I already had in my stash.

Meet the gorgeous Isobel – Just For You by Crafty Sentiments Designs.I decided to feature her on a flower shaped easel card and layer up her beautiful bloom for extra dimension :

She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.There’s also Crystal Glamour Dust on the flower centre and 3D Crystal Lacquer on her shoes.I chose a piece of pretty foiled paper to go with her.I found a sentiment that I thought was quite apt!The flowers are actually made by taking the smallest die from the set,snipping between the petals then shaping the flowers.Gems adorn the centres.Finally I hand cut out a mix of glittered and plain leaves from a coordinating sheet of paper.The ribbon is some I had rescued from somewhere but seemed to tone in well with the papers.
