Isn’t Isobel – Flower Fairy by Crafty Sentiments Designs just the sweetest and most gorgeous of creatures.I coloured her on kraft with Polychromos Pencils,adding a little white gel pen and Glamour Dust then fussy cutting her.I recently treated myself to these lovely papers,flowers and stamps (after wanting them for soooo long).Cut the border with Spellbinders Classic Postage Stamp Edgeabilities using this insert with them for the first time even tho’ I’ve had them for about 3 years!!Deffo gonna use ’em more often,but then I say that about everything 😉 Buttons and twine from stash complete the look.

As Father’s Day is looming here in the UK I thought I’d take the opportunity to make a little gift using Jellybean Prayer by Deedee’s Digis .These are my DH’s favourite jelly beans.He’s not big on sweets but he loves these plus the added bonus is they’re easily obtainable from my favourite discount store 😉 I adapted and remeasured a Test Tube Holder idea.Boy,it wasn’t easy for someone who’s mathematically challenged but I got there in the end.I had to add an extra piece for the back panel as with having to enlarge it to accommodate the tube the card just wasn’t long enough.The rest is pretty simple.Just a couple of papers from the set (there’s LOADS in this kit),a pre-coloured image and the sentiment is one I made up.There is a similar one,along with a lovely prayer,in the set but it didn’t quite match this occasion.A pair of eyelets to attach said sentiment and we’re good to go 😀

As soon as I saw Isobel – Fishy Friends I knew I had to make one of these… ummm…not sure what you call them?It’s like a cross between a sideways tent fold and a slightly open book?!Well,at least that’s how I describe it 😛

Here’s a different view as it may just explain it better than I do :

I’ve not made one in  a while and I wanted to make it feel as if she were swimming under the sea.I stamped her out on acetate then onto my regular colouring cardstock.On the reverse of the acetate I painted the fish and bubbles with pearlescent watercolour paints,mixed to a thick consistency.I also used them on her tail and clothing on the cardstock,altho’ the camera hasn’t picked up the prettiness.Her hair and skin have been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers with a few white gel pen highlights.I then fussy cut her and overlayed her onto the acetate.It was pretty easy as I didn’t have to worry about any intricate details as they were already going to be there underneath 😀  I added the pearls in her hair using using Cosmic Shimmer Pastel PVA Glue.

The card base was made from card in my stash and I die cut an aperture in the front.The sparkly paper,that I’ve had in my stash from my early cardmaking days,stuck in the back.For a little more dimension I placed some die cuts to represent seaweed poking out before adding the acetate panel on the inside.The sentiment is from a foam backed set that is an oldie from my stash too,masking off the little fish that were on the bottom, and adding pearls to fill the gaps.A piece of netting from a cheese bag,a few shells that were collected from various holidays and a rose,for a feminine touch have been used to embellish.

Guitaring Into Shape!

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Here’s the sweet Let’s Play Music by Crafty Sentiments Designs all coloured up with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.I’d seen these shaped cards for a while in my local craft warehouse and thought about getting them several times.Then the last time I was in there they were only £1.99 a pack!So into my basket they fell…just like that!Also treated myself to these pretty papers…and then those rather lovely cloud dies drifted off the shelf too 😉 I cut an aperture in the centre of the card base then added the cloud paper behind on foam tape for extra dimension.The butterfly paper was laid on top with a punched border,which I cut in half,peeking out from the edges.A full border was threaded with ribbon and placed across so that once fussy cut she could perch on it.I die cut the swirly cloud then cut the dotted frame one from some hammer card and also backed it with the middle from that to give more definition.The stamp,a magazine freebie,fitted the space at the top perfectly.Some little pearl flowers and more of the same ribbon have been added to finish the card off.My DD1 bought herself a guitar just after her last birthday so I thought this would be good for her next one.Roll on October….lol

As soon as I saw this adorable Polar Bear by Kenny K I knew I would have to make a shaker card.I’ve not made one in ages and they seem to have made a resurgence in the crafting world more recently,mostly filled with sequins as part of a newish trend too but I couldn’t find mine 😦 Does that imply I have have too much craft stuff?NEVER!Things have been kept simple here with the White on White (not done that in a quite a while too),minimal colouring in pale blues,clear micro beads added to the shaker element and clear dew drops for a cool watery feel.The sentiment I printed out using Word to give this a male theme with the intention of it being for my DH in preparation for Father’s Day 🙂
