Egg-citing Easter!

jsldt30thmar 002

Just a reminder that the Bunnies,Chicks,Easter Eggs challenge at Just Some Lines  is still open. You could be in the running for a super prize. You need play along with a Just Some Lines image to enter and one random winner will get 4 digi stamps of their choice. It doesn’t stop there tho’ as the Top 3 will get one digi stamp each too! There is a freebie to get you started too or you can choose one from Just Some Lines here.

I made this cute Tiny Treat Basket  following the instructions from SplitcoastStampers then coloured, using Copic Ciao Markers, the sweet Emo Little Boy Easter Egg Peeker by Just Some Lines. Then I fussy cut him and adhered him to the front using foam mounting pads. The papers are freebies from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine and the fence was made with a Martha Stewart Edger Punch.I used a large circle plier punch to go thru’ the layers before threading the ribbon to make the handle. It’s secured in place with some flower shaped brads.I’ve tied up some yummy Cadbury’s Mini Eggs (that I’ve borrowed from the kids)  in some cellophane using some paper twine. Here’s some more pics :

The Little Mermaid

dsc25thmar

It’s my turn to host at Digi Sketch Challenge this fortnight and the theme is  Fairy Tale or Fantasy. We have the super A Day For Daisies as our sponsor.

Here’s my sketch :

dsc 25th march

You can follow the sketch, theme or even both.Hope you stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.

For my card I’ve used the whistful Tiny Mermaid 2 by A Day For Daisies and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers.I mounted the image on some pretty pearlescent textured card.I die cut different sized circles from a paper pad that was a freebie last Summer from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine. The striped one has a piece of tulle overlaid, cut from the same size circle die.I adhered it to the parts that wouldn’t show when all the circles were in place.Three pink pearls were added to the smallest circle.I stamped the sentiment directly on to the base card and dotted the i with another pearl.Well you have to have pearls with mermaids, don’t you? 🙂

For my card I’ve used the adorable Monster Balloon Digital Stamp  by 2 Cute Ink and coloured him with ProMarkers. His balloon has given a coating of Glossy Accents.I’ve layered up various papers from the Kars Vector paper pad.I turn to this pad time and time again for male themed cards. You can just pick out that the one behind the monster is glittered too.I chose some green cardstock to coordinate and a few brads to match.Metal embellishments just seem so right on masculine cards 🙂 The sentiment has been made on my Dymo Labelmaker using a plain bold font this time, then cut into banner shapes.Love this little gadget 😀 This card is for my DH from my youngest son.

For my card I’ve used the totally delicious Ice Cream Girl by The Sugar Kissed Cottage and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers. To give her a more realistic textured ice cream I used some Liquid Pearls.I chose some vintage looking papers to go with this cutie. After fussy cutting her I mounted her on some foam tape onto some die cut layers.I cut some slits in the kraft piece to thread the lace through to allow her something to sit on.I tied a bow topped with a punched flower and threaded button  and added them to the lace strip.Another threaded button has been adhered to the stamped sentiment.

Just a reminder that the Fairies challenge at Just Some Lines  is still open.

For my card I’ve used Fairy – hello friend by Just Some Lines and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers.Of course no fairy would be complete without a set of sparkly wings so Crystal Glamour Dust has been added. The background paper and the one the flowers are die cut from are Papermania Happy Days. The floral strip is actually a length of self adhesive fabric from the same collection.I received a selection of the papers in a DoCrafts Goody Bag and I was so taken with this floral design I used it the most leaving me with the smallest of scraps.Recently I placed an order with an online craft shop and found this material in the sale section so added it in to take me over the free P&P threshold. So not only beautiful but useful too 🙂 Looking forward to using this stuff more.I die cut a swirl to echo the shape of the  blade of grass in the image, then stamped and  hand cut the sentiment. The centers of the flowers have been embellished with some buttons to finish.

A piece of Spring

dtcards11thmarch 002

There’s another new challenge at  Digi Sketch Challenge and the theme this fortnight is Easter/Spring.We have the super S K Digis as our sponsor.

It’s the lovely Sony’s turn to host and here’s her fabby sketch :

You can follow the sketch, theme or even both.Hope you stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.

For my card I’ve used the pretty and versatile Flowers in Bloom by S K Digis. The image has been printed out 3 times. The first layer onto white card, the second on a green paper and thirdly onto a yellow paper. The flowers on the top layer have been shaped with a ball embossing tool before being adhered.Yellow gems have been placed in the centre of each flower. The sentiment has been stamped and another gem has been added to the sun on it.I was certainly thinking warm Spring day thoughts here – a little different to the rain, fog and snow we’ve been experiencing the past few days…lol And to keep in with the bejeweled theme some more were arranged in the corner, descending in size. The card base and layers, including the embossed piece, were cut from  5 x 7 card blanks in my stash.

Supplies :

Image : Flowers in Bloom by S K Digis
Sentiment : From a freebie stamp set in a magazine (can’t remember which one)
Medium : Jet Black Archival Ink

I’ve created a tent fold card so that I could use 2 beautiful images from Just Some Lines,Fairy Keisha Watching n Waiting and Fairy Kyra Free Fall. After colouring them with Copic Ciao Markers both were fussy cut.I adhered Keisha overlapping the aperture and attached Kyra to the inside of the card with some transparent nylon thread, allowing her to dangle freely.I chose some pretty Dovecraft paper and added a sentiment layered onto a die cut piece, also cutting a matching corner from the same set.A length of ribbon in a deeper peach shade has been used to embellish.

A chance to get krafty

cypdt 4thmarch 001

This week at Craft Your Passion the challenge is That is ODD!Add an ODD number of embellishments to your project. We have the fabulous Sweet Stamps as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

For my card I’ve used Find the Silver Lining by Saturated Canary.Just look at that doe-eyed cutie. How could you be cross with her?…And she’s giving you the chance to craft 😉 She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers with white gel pen highlights to add shine to her top lip and the spilt water on the floor.I’ve also whitened the spots on the heart sported on the pocket of her top.I was thinking  how that vase was going to get fixed so strips of washi tape have been added either side of her.Not really sure if you class this stuff as an embellishment, but I did use an odd number of pieces 🙂 This then led to thoughts of other fixing and fasteners hence the addition of the buttons, staples and stitching.I wasn’t too neat with any of those deliberately, trying to make them a little childlike. The sentiment, cut into a tab with one of my fave punches, comes with the image as part of a set.

Supplies :

Image & Sentiment : Find the Silver Lining by Saturated Canary
Colouring Mediums : Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers,Sakura Gelly Roll Pen

Tag!Ouch,you’re it!

jsldt2ndmar 001 copy

Just a reminder that the Create a Tag challenge at Just Some Lines  is still open.

For my tag I’ve used the sweetest Little hedgehog by Just Some Lines and coloured him with Polychromos pencils, blending the sky and grass with low odour oils thinners. The tag itself has been cut and created from an Ornate Frame die using this rather lovely corrugated card.I matted it with some pretty glittered First Edition paper 🙂 The hedgehog was cut fom another die in the set then trimmed down partly to suit the shape of the image and also so that the paper was still allowed to show.I hand cut the layer he is sitting on as I wanted to add just a little definition to him.I dug out a variety of metal embellishments to tone in with the pale aqua card.I tied some paper raffia through the top and flattened some more out to die cut two flowers.I offset them slightly before adding the brad.I love that this stuff has a mind of it’s own so that it tries to curl back up and gives a nice shabby(ish) effect.Of course I had to play with my new Dymo again 😀

Supplies :
