For my card I’ve used the delightful Big Hat Girls 1 from Just Some Lines and she’s been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.I created the card base using a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page set.It was also used to shape the topper.I chose these beautiful My Mind’s Eye papers to go with her.I utilised the pattern on one of the papers to make the flowers and also punched some leaves from another coordinating piece from, would you believe, a Flower Stamp and Punch set also by Martha Stewart.Ball tools were used to shape and give dimension to both.I found some lovely matching pearls in my stash to add to the centres of the flowers. The sentiment was stamped with London Fog Memento for a softer look onto a die cut piece that I punched two holes at either end then threaded onto some ribbon for a slider.

It’s the lovely Dawn’s turn to host this week at Willow Sketchie Challenge and here’s her fabby sketch :

She has also set the theme of Blue,White,Silver.Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and/or theme. You could be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend at Willow Designs too!As well as a winner (chosen randomly) there will be a hand picked Top 3 and they will receive a super cute badge for their blog.Don’t forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.
For my card I’ve used the super cool Walter in a Pom Pom Hat digital stamp and a backing paper from the Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD-rom by Willow Designs.I’ve coloured young Walter with ProMarkers and added some sparkly, tinsely stuff I got as a freebie from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine either from last year or possibly the year before.Yipes!I cut him out and layered him onto a die cut that I’d passed through an embossing folder.I chose some lovely textured card from my stash that has a softer sheen rather than a full on silver.I added some die cut snowflakes topped with a gem to keep the cold, snowy theme going.
Supplies :
Image & Paper : Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD-rom by Willow Designs
Colouring Medium : ProMarkers
Card : Papermania Christmas Collection 8 x 8 Card
Tools : X-Cut guillotine,Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Scallop Circles,Marianne Design Snowflakes,Cuttlebug Snowflakes Embossing Folder,Big Shot,Decoupage Scissors
To Embellish : Papermania Clear Adhesive Stones
Storage to ‘die’ for :

I’ve been hankering after some better storage since collecting the ProMarkers Limited Edition Seasonal Colours. My poor ol’ plastic box was overflowing to the point of losing a few pens in my cupboard plus it was difficult to keep pawing through and tipping them out to search for the colours I needed.Trouble is I forfeited the rights to a craft room by choosing to have too many children! So I have to keep everything in the bedroom.I’d been looking at these type of cases for a long time but boy are they expensive – even on that well known auction site.I came across these larger ones at Maplin but again price was an issue. So I just kept watching and waiting…..until they came down to a bargainous price.I downloaded a complete colour chart from Sarah Hurley’s blog (Thank you!) and as I had room added my Flexmarker, chart from Letraset, collection along with some Fine Liners.I might add some coloured dots to the ends of the ProMarkers but I’ve been quite good at locating the right wallets and putting the pens back in order so far.
I even bought a second to house my dies and folders. How much better than keeping them in a bag with the original packaging falling about around them.Hate to admit but some of the dies are still floating about in the cupboard somewhere but once found they will be added too. Some of the dies were a little too wide for the holders so I snipped down the sides a little to allow them to fit.Not sure if they will tear but to be honest you get so many it could easily be replaced.I even managed to get some extra large dies on their magnetic sheet in.You can see the top of the black sheet poking out but there is enough clearance when the lid is shut.I got my small embossing folders into more of the wallets and hung those behind my dies. The larger folders and Sizzix Bigz are laid beside those. There is still a little hanging space at the front of the second row if I want to expand my small folder collection and plenty if I want to stack anymore large ones.I slotted in my few Decorative Strips behind the bars in the lid.I have to say these are large 500 CD storage cases so they are quite hefty and the one with the dies in is not so lightweight. They are a little like treasure chests – yes that’s exactly what they are or should that be Arrr! But if you live in the UK and are looking at these DJ Flight cases and have the space they are definitely worth considering (would recommend the free delivery .Only takes a couple of days)The promotion is on until 31/12/12.No connection just a happy customer!

At Craft Your Passion this week the theme is Use Your Scraps. We have the fabulous Stitchy Bear Stamps as our sponsor.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
For my card I’ve used the sweet My Pillow by Stitchy Stamps available at Stitchy Bear Stamps. She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers and the pillow has been paper pieced. The pink card for the base and mounting the image are left over from another card. The white pieces are off cuts from printing out digi stamps and the patterned papers are cut from the small bits we all save ‘just in case’ then can’t think what to do with them. The buttons are from some of my old pyjamas I threw into a rag recycling bin.So in effect I guess these are scraps too 😉 The sentiment I cobbled together using the first part of a sentiment stamp and some alphabet stamps for the word ‘Hugs’I can’t really take credit for the design as the idea came from an issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine in an article by Dena Concienne.
Supplies :
Image : My Pillow by Stitchy Stamps from Stitchy Bear Stamps
Sentiment : Using part of a sentiment from Kaisercraft Mini Stamp Set Friends,Alphabet stamps from a 3 Birds Boxed Stamp Set

….stick together!
The challenge at Just Some Lines is Give Thanks this time. There are some changes to the challenge too. From now on only projects made with Just Some Lines images can be entered. But the good news is there will be a freebie image posted on the blog for the duration of the challenge for you to use!Just pop on over to Just Some Lines to find out all the details. While you’re there don’t forget to get inspired by the DT’s creations.
For my card I’ve used the adorable Turt n Peep – Peep by Just Some Lines with Copic Ciao Markers.I added some texture to the bird and dotted some blender over the tortoise’s face to give that kind of scaly look they have about them.I found some papers in my stash that I thought would compliment his shell and dug out a Spelllbinders Impressabilities that I’ve had a few years and never used :0 I typed and printed the sentiment using my ‘puter then cut the tag using a Quickutz die.Because I wanted to define it where it is layered over the image I ended up hand cutting a piece of kraft to mount it onto.So we’ll just ignore the wonky cutting and move on 😉 I die cut a flower from a coordinating paper and added a couple of die cue leaves and a brad.
Supplies :
Image : Turt n Peep – Peep from Just Some Lines
Colouring Medium : Copic Ciao Markers

The challenge at Craft Your Passion this week is CAS (Clean & Simple). We have the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps as our sponsor.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
I think I’ve gone about as CAS as can be with my card.I’ve used the wonderful Edward Elephant – Happy Birthday. He is actually found in the Gift Tags section at Bugaboo Stamps.First I digitally paper pieced the background with a paper from the Swiss Dots III collection by Floppy Latte Designs using PSE 8.Then using MyVerse Editor Plus I chose a template for the size of card I wanted. This is really for making inserts but it takes the hard work out of creating your own base card templates 🙂 Once printed onto some leather textured card, which I thought would look good with the ele image, and trimmed to size I filled in the rest of the image with Copic Ciao Markers.I deliberately went for some bright ,contrasting colours.Well that’s it,nothing else…..:D
Supplies :
Image : Edward Elelphant – Happy Birthday from Bugaboo Stamps
Medium : Copic Ciao Markers
Papers & Card : Southfield Textured 12 X 12 card,Floppy Latte Designs Swiss Dots III digi paper

Just a reminder that the Reduce,Reuse,Recycle challenge at Just Some Lines is still running until 11:59 pm EST on Thursday 15th November.Plenty of time to join us then! You could be in the running for a super prize. You need play along with a Just Some Lines image to enter and one random winner will get a $12 Gift Certificate to spend in the shop.It doesn’t stop there tho’ as the Top 3 will get one digi stamp each too! There is a freebie to get you started too or you can choose one from Just Some Lines here.
You know how you have an idea but never get round to doing it,well this was one of those times. For a few years (yes!Years!!) I’d been thinking about making a hanging photo frame from one of these :

It’s a toddlers board book with puzzles inside. My SIL gave my DD1 a set of two depicting The Story of the Nativity when shes was about two. She’s now 19 and my three other children enjoyed playing with them when there were younger. So much so the that they ended up quite tatty and some of the shiny coated paper had come away from the chipboard inside so they were no good to pass on to anyone else 😦 I hadn’t the heart to get rid of them so they’ve sat in a box in a cupboard for a looooong time.I saw the potential to make photo frames with them but never quite made the time to do it…until now…

I sliced off the portion I wanted to use with my trusty guillotine.Must admit I felt a little mean chopping this up at first but then realised that at least it would stay with us,just in a different form 🙂
I started by giving sanding it lightly to give a key to the shiny surface then covered it in dries white glue mixed with some white acrylic paint to cover up the bright colours.Once dry I lightly sanded it again to create a smooth surface then applied a tacky PVA glue.I then adhered some papers that I’d already prepared to fit.Next I painted around the edges allowing some of the paint to go onto the papers then dry brushing it out a little then coated it in watery PVA to make it a little more durable.Whilst I was waiting for it dry I layered up some paper flowers and added glitter glue to the ends of the petals and a gem to the centers.I then printed out two images,Rudis – hound dog style and Rudis – refusal style both from Just Some Lines (I’m sure any dog owners will recognise those looks!),and coloured them with Copic Ciao Markers to make him look a little like our dog, including her white wonky upside down Y that runs down her chest.I also tried to recreate they way the light reflects on her shiny black coat.I lined the recesses where the puzzles once were with some card and punched two holes with my Crop-A-Dile and put some book rings through and tied on some ribbon which I recycled from the waistband on a pair of my old pyjamas.I cut some acetate to fit the frames then added some metal photo anchors, the flowers and the cute little dogs. These all secure the acetate into place.
I haven’t put any photo’s in yet as this is for my DD2 who absolutely adores our beautiful dog,Socks.I thought I’d let her choose her own favourites.I think if it was down to me this would definitely be one of them :

If you look closely yes,she is actually cuddling her duck (donated by DD2 as it is impossible to find soft dog toys without a squeaker – our dog is a squeakaphobic!) with her paws wrapped around him.She does that with us too.So sweet ♥

It’s my turn to host at Willow Sketchie Challenge this week and here’s my sketch :

Well I’ve pushed the boat out and created a card with a matching tag,had to really as it was all my big idea, featuring Fairy Dance digital stamp from Willow Designs. She’s been coloured with Copic Sketch and Ciao Markers and been given Glamour Dust wings.I made both bases for the card and tag with kraft card and layered up some Polly Pickleberry CD-rom papers onto some coordinating card.I stamped a couple of sentiments and added one to tag to tie onto my card. The other is the focal point of the tag, embellished with some teeny star gems and more Glamour Dust.I picked out the aqua colour highlights from the bird backing paper and twisted two shades of floss together. The ribbon is from atop I bought. It’s the pieces that hold clothes on the hanger. Not sure how I manage it but no matter how much ribbon I buy it’s always these that match a project perfectly 😀
