For my card I’ve used ‘Doll with heart’ from Glitterbabe.Isn’t she such a cutie! She’s been coloured with Promarkers and to give her heart some sparkle I coloured it with a Copic Atyou Spica pen. Well,I couldn’t not with an image from Glitterbabe, could I?I also added bling around the scallops.I layered two papers, having punched the edges first, but I didn’t stick them down fully as I wanted a frilly effect.A We R Memory Keepers Gromlet was attached through one of the punched holes to finish.I’ve got a ton of them I bought as a TSV on QVC an age ago and I really ought to use them more often. If you can’t quite make it out it says ‘made with love’.

At Digi Doodle Shop’s Best the theme is ‘Swirls’.So to be in with the chance of winning a generous $10 Gift Certificate to spend at Digi Doodle Shop please click on the link for details on how to play. While you’re there draw some inspiration from the beautiful DT creations.
For my card I’ve used the gorgeous Fairy 1 from Digi Doodle Shop. She’s been coloured with Promarkers.I didn’t want to complicate things colourwise so I even blended the colour on her wings using the same ones as her skin tones and dress.I also refrained from using glitter as I wanted to give her a more ‘grown up’ look. After digging around in my punches I pulled out this rather elegant one.I haven’t used in aaaages. It was one of the first border punches I bought but it doesn’t have a name on it so I have the foggiest who made it.The swirl is cut from a Sizzix Bigz Die.I have to admit there are two on it and this is the first time I’ve used this one.Because the card was a bit too pink I used Distress Inks to tone it down.I also took the whiteness off the piece the image is on using Distress Ink and Memento Ink.I used some shell pink pearls to finish.

The challenge at Craft Your Passion this week is to use only two designer papers on your project. We have the fabulous Daisy Doodles as our sponsor this week.So head on over to play and check out the rules. Please take a look at the beautiful DT work while you’re there.
For my card I’ve used the beautiful Hatbox from Daisy Doodles.Rather than reach for the usual Promarkers I decided to paper piece the image.Altho’ I did manage to sneak a little in to create a shadow under the box – lol.I curved and shaped the papers and used silicone glue to give dimension. The flower, taken from the image printed onto plain white card, has been coloured with Copic Atyou Spica pens to give a glittery effect.I used my brand new Martha Stewart Cherish Punch Around The Page set for the first time and I LOVE it!!I attached the punched panel to a card base cut at just under 4″,to stop it being seen through the holes, that way I could still add an insert like a regular card – and so that it would stand up!I created a tag using the same Nesties the image is layered onto and tied it on through one of the holes.I found these pearls in my stash and thought they’d be the perfect colour to finish the card.
Supplies:
Image : Hatbox from Daisy Doodles

Anything Goes at Digi Doodle Shop’s Best this week.A nice, easy challenge! Please visit the challenge blog to see full details on how to play. One lucky winner will get a $10 Gift Certificate to spend at Digi Doodle Shop! With so many fabulous images you’ll be spoilt for choice.Take a look at the beautiful DT creations too.
Here I’ve used Spring Time Bunnies and coloured them with Promarkers. The edges have been inked with Distress Ink and I created a sky effect using a stippling brush.Having spent a fortune on a Grand Calibur and some Grand Nestabilities dies I decided to make a shaped easel card. This was so much fun.I only had scraps of the deeper purple shade card so I cut two smaller pieces and filled the gap with some ribbon.I had enough left over to make a half shape which was perfect to prop the top part up. To add more dimension I cut a frame rather than just mat the image. The only downside with the Calibur is that you can’t use a magnetic mat to hold your Nesties in place 😦 You have to use tape to hold them in place. Not sure if this was an oversight by Spellbinders as the mat was a really great idea.Anyway I chose this sentiment as I thought Spring is such a wonderful season and we should take the time to appreciate it.
Supplies :
Image : Spring Time Bunnies
Sentiment : From Crafter’s Companion 3 Birds Cleary Hand Stamped box
Mediums : Promarkers including Blender to shade the fence,Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint Distress Ink

The challenge this week is Button Up (use buttons) at Craft Your Passion. So it’s time to raid your button stash! If you’d like to play along please head on over for details.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT’s beautiful creations.
We have a fab sponsor too,Purple Panda.Us DT were lucky to receive an image and for my card I’ve used the sweet Baby and Fruitloop. They’ve been coloured with Promarkers and the edges have been inked with Distress Inks.I’ve also created a sky using a stiff bristled brush to stipple some more Distress Ink.The shape has been created with my new toy.I treated myself to a Spellbinders Grand Calibur and some Grand Nestabilities – I deserve it!!I’ve folded a Labels 4 die in half to create my base but I had to chop the tip off the bottom to get it to stand up tho’.I decided not to use any DP for a change.I had a rummage through my buttons and also managed to find some grey embroidery thread.I dug out the sentiment stamp and punched it out.It does have a border around it but because I wanted to mount it onto some card I cut it smaller.
I’m also blogging for the first time on my new computer. It was about time our Jurassic PC was put out to grass.I’m pretty impressed but it’s going to take some time getting used to methinks.I’m also missing a lot of stuff from my old one still but I’m sure I’ll get there eventually – well, I hope!!

Wow!This card came as a bit of a shock on completion being a stickler for traditional colours for the past five Christmas’s.Having said I actually like taking such a bold direction.Hope you agree!
This is actually the third Christmas card I’ve made this year (I’m still sticking to the same layout).I’m so determined not to leave it to the last minute this year.I don’t do resolutions but I do make promises to myself – I don’t feel so guilty if I don’t stick to them!
Anyway back to the card.I’ve used Christmas Trevor by C C Designs and coloured him mainly with Promarkers.I was so taken with his antlers I didn’t notice ’til he arrived at my house how tiny and fiddly the details on his jumper were … oops. But I hit upon the idea of using my fine nibbed Copic Atyou Spica pens.Problem solved!I’ve die cut him using the Out-of-the-Box technique to let his legs swing free.I have to admit the yellow card was a little brighter than I wanted and I was hoping to find some green card the colour of the background of the spotty papers at my local craft warehouse but that wasn’t to be.Nevermind,I think this makes for a card full of Christmas cheer!!
Supplies:

I’ve used the delighful Ballerina Digital Stamps Set for my card.I can see this being a great addition to scrapbook pages for the little ballerina in your life too.I’ve taken three elements from the kit.The ballerina, wand and ballet slippers.I’ve also tried something new.Instead of reaching for the usual Promakers I’ve coloured her in Paint,as I don’t have a fancy graphics programme on my antiquated computer.I cut the wand out and placed it in her hand. The ballet slippers have been hung on a brad.Of course being a girly card I had to add Stickles and bling!!

Yay!I’ve made a second Christmas card!
For my card I’ve used the sweet Santa Emma from C C Designs. She’s been coloured with Promarkers and I’ve added some Polar White Flower Soft on the trims of her clothing to give a furry effect.I’ve die cut her using the Out-of-the-Box technique to allow her feet to dangle.I got to use my new Martha Stewart edge punch that I managed to pick up for the bargainous £7.99 from my local craft warehouse.I usually go for traditional colours when making Christmas cards but thought I’d be more adventurous and give some different colour combos a whirl this year!
The design is based on this card but because this stamp is bigger I’ve started with a 6″ x 6″ base.I was so relieved to find some finally back in stock at my local craft warehouse. I’ve making my own and really didn’t fancy doing so for all my Christmas cards!!
