At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Flower Power. We have the fabulous A Day For Daisies as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.
I chose to play with this little sweetie,Flowers in my Garden,by A Day For Daisies 🙂 She’s been water coloured with AquaMarkers and I stamped the sentiment to the top right corner.I die cut the scalloped square base. When making shaped cards I always cut and overlay an extra top piece to eliminate the straight edge. That works well especially in this case as I’ve used my Grand Nestabilities to layer everything up for a concentric look.Regular Nesties have been used to cut out the image and a scalloped version to create a pretty frame for her.The papers are Dovecraft Garden Party and the ribbon and flowers are from the same collection.I’ve been umming and ahhing about these for ages…so glad I took the plunge 🙂 The charm is a magazine freebie and the gems are Trimcraft The London Line.As you can see I’ve a bit crazy with the floral theme 😀

This cute little fella is Christmas Penguin by Crafty Sentiments and he’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers. For some seasonal sparkle I’ve added some tinsel to the bobble on his hat and accents of Crystal Glamour Dust to the floating ice. I’m trying to use up all my old Christmas stash up and resisting buying more…except for a few stamps and digi’s 😉 These are my favourite papers that I’ve been clinging onto but now it’s time to let go…The cardstock is a past purchase too.The stamp I bought earlier this year to use for the 2014 festive season. The charms I bought in big bundle from eBay the year before, and I’m still ploughing through them.I’ve hung it from some jute twine – just love this stuff 😀

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Citrus/Tropical Colours. We have the fabulous Zap Pow Designs as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.
So,I had a little fun with You Octi-Pi Our Heart by Zap Pow Designs 🙂 I paper pieced him with some funky patterned paper and then coloured over his spots and tentacles.I then printed him out again onto card and coloured and cut out his glasses and bow tie. These were shaped a little then adhered using foam tape for some extra dimension. The lenses in his glasses have been give a coating of 3D Crystal Lacquer. For the spotty background I punched out two sizes of circles from scrap card in my stash. The sentiment, included with the octo nerd, has also been hand coloured and cut into a banner shape before adding a couple of dew drops.Originally clear these have been tinted to match in with the card.

Oh my goodness!!I’m so excited!I got chosen to join Crafty Sentiments as a GDT!I put my name down in a moment of madness thinking they’d never pick me and here I am with my very first project for them 😀
The challenge at Crafty Sentiments is a nice easy one and everybody’s fave – Anything Goes!Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning the super prize below.Don’t forget to take at some fabulous DT inspiration while you’re there.

So meet the delightful Hedgehog – Hello! by Crafty Sentiments Designs. He’s available as a rubber stamp and here I’ve coloured him in Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.I decided I’d give him a setting and to be honest I can always do with a bit of practice on creating backgrounds 😉 Not sure if it’s the angle of the notebook or the lens, maybe both, but hedgie on the right looks as tho’ he’s been more slugs n’ snails. But rest assured they are definitely following the same diet.
Here’s a side by side piccie :

I decided to make a card and notepad set just for something a little different…I chose these papers with a woodsy/countryside feel to them. Then teamed them with some kraft and lifted the reddy pink with coordinating card. There was already a sentiment on the woodgrain piece on the card so I thought I’d utilise that and cut the flowers out again from a second sheet and layered them up,slightly overlapping the bottom corner of the butterfly paper. The ric rac was a little too pale so I toned it in to match with a Copic Ciao Marker. This has been topped with a jute twine threaded button. The same papers were used on the notepad and I made new covers out of kraft. The butterfly paper was turned into a flower, ric rac for leaves and the button added to the centre.
Supplies :

Here we have the fantastic Rocket Dog -Digi Stamp by QKR Stampede reaching for the stars. He’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers with dots of silver gel pen on the rivets on both the rocket and his collar. The stars have been coated with Frosted Lace Stickles for some subtle sparkle rather than all out girly glitz. Of course, apart from loving dogs (especially my girl ♥) they are my favourite make of boots so for me he was the ultimate choice 🙂 Also this will be for my DS2’s Birthday in September.Gotta stay ahead!!Plus he’s pretty enamoured with dogs too – don’t know where he’s got that from 😉 Glad I found these papers. They’re just great for masculine projects and I like the colour palette too. There’s a nifty woodgrain pattern and a couple of florals thrown in as well 🙂 Some die cut stars wound with silver cord and some eyelets to go with the rivet theme have been added to embellish.
