A Basket of Flowers – Easel-y!

**I’m late posting this as my internet is still not good 😦 Wish they’d sort it out!!**

I’ve coloured up the sweet Basket of Flowers by Crafty Sentiments Designs with watercolor pencils.I made a pretty shaped easel card to display her on.The stopper is made by die cutting the sentiment four times out of watercolour card and layering it all together,adhering with wet glue.The ribbon threaded border is a Martha Stewart punch.Some flowers were die cut with flat backed pearls added to the centres and the leaf sprays hand cut from a piece of coordinating paper.

A Pizza the action ;)

Meet Pizza Chef Mickey  by Digital Delights by Louby Loo.He’s been coloured using Copic Ciao Markers and a few touches of white gel pen.Thought what better way to display than on a pizza – well,more part of a pizza!I die cut a white card blank then covered it with kraft,with a little inking around the edge for a baked,crusty feel.Next a red card tomato sauce layer followed by a cheesy yellow cardstock.Finally a topping of pepperoni and green pepper die cuts to match those on Mickey’s pizza 😀 Whipped up a sentiment using Microsoft Word and that’s that!Didn’t feel it needed extra embellishment.This will be for my DS2’s Birthday in September (gotta get ’em done early you know!) as it’s no secret in our household that it’s his favourite pizza…not sure what he’ll make of the green peppers tho’ as he’s definitely no fan of them!

Never forget it’s your Birthday!

What a sweetie Dayna – Birthdays by Crafty Sentiments Designs is.She’s been coloured up with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers,with white gel pen on her hat,to match these pretty magazine freebie papers.Even the little tab peeking out from behind the image was cut from a sheet.The piece the sentiment is on is hand cut.I chose this particular flower die so it allowed the paper to show through.A gem has been added to the flower she’s holding in her trunk as well as the centre’s of the die cut ones.A strip of three tiny gems has been applied to the top left corner for extra sparkle 🙂

Who wouldn’t want a Christmas kiss from the lovely Kissing Under The Mistletoe by Crafty Sentiments Designs?She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers and the mistletoe berries given dimension with Liquid Pearls.Unfortunately the camera has failed to pick up on the 3D Crystal Lacquer on her boots – but it is there,honest 🙂 She’s been fussy cut to allow her to be added to the wreath.I made this by die cutting a kraft card ring,then arranging die cut foliage of holly leaves and two types of pine branches,letting the base cardstock to peek through.All topped off with a couple of sprigs of mistletoe – of course!I trimmed one stem to make it a little shorter than the other.That’s the beauty of this die as you can decide how you want to make it up as all the components are cut separately.The ribbon hanging loop has been stapled on for security then covered with the bow for a neater finish.A few recycled pearly buttons have been scattered around for extra decoration 🙂

Here’s the most adorable Apple Sprite Holding a Candy Apple by Aurora Wings.After printing onto kraft card I coloured her up with Spectrum Noir Pencils,adding a few white gel pen highlights.I die cut an aperture into another piece of kraft and die cut the scalloped border before overlaying it on this cute apple paper.I stamped a sentiment then cut it into a banner shape.These stamps are fantastic for cards as they’re quite small.So glad I found them 🙂 Some baker’s twine and a button have been added as the finishing touches.

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Halloween Decoration.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

I wanted to make a rosette style decoration but I wanted it big!So after much head scratching along with a good measure of trial and error I came up with the solution…3 strips of 12″ x 4″ all scored every ¼” then joined together.Yay 😀  Count – Dracula by Crafty Sentiments Designs makes a perfectly spooky centrepiece too!He’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers and Black Soot Distress Ink has been blended around the edge.

I found the fabulous freebie sentiment here.I twisted a couple of lengths of raffia together to create the hanger.The spider,would you believe,is recycled from an old pair of my DD1’s shoes and the buttons were snipped off a couple of garments that weren’t fit enough for charity collections then threaded with just the orange raffia.

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Autumn Leaves.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Molly – Looking Pretty by Crafty Sentiments Designs has been coloured with Spectrum Noir Pencils and then blended out for a softer look.I chose some lovely papers to go with her and the top panel has been embossed.A little faux stitching has been drawn around the edges using a fine liner pen.After adding the die cut border three lengths of jute twine were adhered above it,the ends on the right hand side have been left free.I tied the bow allowing the loose ends to create multiple tails.The panel with the totally adorable Molly lays flat and I die cut a frame then raised it on some foam tape for some dimension.The wooden leaves and toadstool have been colourised around the edges with a Spectrum Noir Pencil then I applied Blending Solution with a paper stump for a more muted effect before being arranged around the frame.

When I saw the beautiful Scarf Lover by The East Wind I just knew I wanted to make a circular shaped card but I also had the idea of adding dimension.I coloured her with Spectrum Noir Pencils,added some 3D Crystal Lacquer to her eyes,lips and badges in her scarf before fussy cutting her.The card base was created by die cutting two Nestie shapes and cutting an aperture in one.To give lift to the top layer I concertinaed two strips of card and adhered them on each side of the back piece,making sure they were parallel.The top piece was carefully lined up then stuck into place.*Tip* I chose to stand the scalloped cricle on two ‘bumps’ for more stability,this also means it free stands without the need for trimming.The patterned backing paper was cut from the same size die as the aperture but the photo angle shows the dimension better so it appears to be smaller.A length of hessian/jute ribbon with a frilled ribbon has been laid across the back.The image was then popped up on foam tape.I layered a couple of paper flowers and added a wooden heart shaped button top.This has been threaded with a scrap piece of the hessian ribbon that fell off the end bit I trimmed.Behind that a couple of pearl headed pins have been safely tucked in with foam tape (which also holds the flower in place).Rather than throw away the off cut of hessian I inserted it at the back.The sentiment has been stamped onto a wooden plaque.I found these on The Works website for a pound and was quite impressed to find twelve in the pack (4 each of 3 different styles) 😀 I if hadn’t have added the wooden embellishments this card could be squashed flat for posting – but this is intended for hand delivery 🙂

I just had to play with the most amusing Funny Frog by Sami Stamps 😀 He’s been coloured up with Copic Ciao Markers,including the Blender to create some texture to his frog skin,and to add to the fun he had to have a coating of 3D Crystal Lacquer on his glasses along with a furry moustache,to make it more tactile.I did have to wrack my brains on how to bring the idea to reality.In my stash I had some Polar White Flower Soft but that wasn’t the colour I wanted his ‘tache to be…So I pulled out some Terracotta Posh Impressions Rainbow Ink that I’ve had for ages and added a couple of drops,stirred with a cocktail stick in a medicine measuring cup!Once it was dry it was stuck into place with some dries clear PVA.Cut a shaped easel for the base and added these papers that I bought quite a few Summer’s ago in a sale.I fussy cut him and plonked him on top of an embossed and die cut piece.The sentiment has been computer generated and cut into a banner shape with some paper twine wrapped around one end.I added some Shimmer Dots that were originally silver to decorate but out came a coordinating Copic Ciao to transform them!This is for my DD1 who has recently move into a new home with a couple of her friends whilst she’s at uni.

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is For a Man.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

After toying with a few football and circular themed ideas the decision was made to go with a round easel card plus a paper pieced football.Perfect for this great little guy – Let’s Play Ball by Crafty Sentiments Designs.He’s been coloured up with Copic Ciao Markers.As this is for my DH (it’s OK he won’t see it – he doesn’t show any interest in my blog :P) and being he’s an avid Man Utd fan I tried to colour this as closely as I could to their home kit.The trophy is a bought die cut piece I’ve had an my stash for many years,dragged out especially for this occasion 😉 The ‘1’ is removable so it got a coating of black Copic ink before being put back into place.A stamped tag has been tied to the handle with some cord from a clothing price tag.I found the chipboard button from the same collection as the paper and threaded some more cord through that.Spot and stripes make a good combination for manly cards,don’t you think?A computer generated greeting added as a banner shaped stopper completes the card .
