How cute is Patches Puppy – Surprize!Surprize! by Crafty Sentiments Designs?Decided to do a little texture colouring on this sweet pup with my Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.These lovely papers are Dovecraft  Garden Party which I must confess despite buying them,and some beautiful embellishments from the same collection,about two years ago I have only used once before – shocking 😮 Thought I’d go for a bit of a celebratory theme and hand cut a banner as part of the layering.Feeling the need to use part of the coordinating stash I cut a couple of short lengths of ribbon and looped them in to tabs.The sentiment,stamped onto card,has had the same treatment.I’ve doubled up the Blossoms and adhered a gem to the centre.All done 🙂

Hitting the books?It’s a Cinch!

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Back to School.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

I’ve combined Hitting the Book with Stairs and Books by Crafty Sentiments Designs.All coloured up with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.Some 3D Crystal Lacquer has been applied to the lenses on her glasses and for once you can see where the camera has picked up the shine 🙂 I decide to pull out my Cinch and make a 5″ x 7″ notebook from scratch!!Very ashamed to say that when I dragged it out from the back of the cupboard the dispatch year was 2010!I’ve only used it twice before too.Really going to have make more use of it as it’s a great tool…but then I say that about everything…perhaps I buy too much craft stuff.Nah!That could never be 😉 The covers are made from a kraft card that is nice and sturdy.I wanted to use up some bits and pieces from my craft stash so pulled out these paper scraps along with some self adhesive fabric to die cut for the floral scalloped border and a journaling card all from the same collection.Following the trend to make some use of craft stash that was hanging around I grabbed some glittery paper,a self adhesive border (wasn’t quite long enough so cut it in half and placed behind the image) and some sparkly flowers.The creative words I made on my Dymo Embossing Labelmaker.I love the interchangeable wheels on this one 🙂 Another tool I need to make more use of : P The wire has been decorated with some ribbons to match the papers and image.This is for my DD2 who starts 6th Form next month.It can sit on her desk so she can jot down any ideas or draw in it when she has time.It’s far too nice to be crammed in a bag!

Meet Josh – Let’s Go Flying by Crafty Sentiments Designs.Doesn’t he and his little friend look like they’re having fun!He’s from the new release collection ‘Here Come The Boys’ available from the 7th August.Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers have been used to colour this adorable image up.Somehow came up with the idea that these pinwheels would be a cute idea and kind of go along with the air plane theme- think propellers!!Wrapped a few lengths of jute twine around the vertical panel to tie (yes,very punny!) in with the kraft card base.The little buttons in the centres of the pinwheels are actually brads from a girls collection would you believe 😉 The sentiment I cobbled together using a frame and two alphabet stamps.

Paper Roses

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

What a beauty Isobel – Roses by Crafty Sentiments Designs is!She’s been coloured up using Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.After my foray into a paper pieced Starburst Background I then went on to try another style that I wasn’t too sure I could handle!For this Herringbone Quilt effect I cut strips of a magazine freebie paper,although pretty enough I could never see me using it in a conventional way (if there’s such a thing in crafting!).Once all were adhered in place I cut it with a stitch edged die than ran it through an embossing folder that came with the papers,mounted onto white to distinguish it from the kraft card base.I stamped a greeting onto another strip of white card trimmed to fit the border embossing folder that also came as part of the set.A few white flat back pearls in varying sizes decorate the two top corners.I think the use of the white gives a lovely fresh contrast to the busyness of the background.

Isabella Sunny Days by Rick St.Dennis is such a sweetie 🙂 She’s coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers then fussy cut.I decide to go for a rustic,country feel with some yellow gingham and pale kraft card.The ric rac and cord also follow that theme.The greeting has been cut out with individual alphabet dies.The intention was to leave them open but as I always add inserts to my cards I didn’t want the white to show through and spoil it.So instead I found this scrap of blue spotty paper and adhered it behind and inlaid the letters.I also think this colour gives a little lift.The butterfly was punched from some more kraft and a cute,threaded,flower button added to the centre.She’s just perfect for today….The sun has finally decided to shine here in the UK 😀

I couldn’t resist making a second card featuring Scotty Pan also by Digital Delights by Louby Loo in preparation for my DS2’s birthday in September .He’s been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers and I’ve distressed him (!) with some ink.Just had to use these papers with him and after die cutting some scraps I tore the edges – what a rebel 😉 The greeting has been stamped directly onto the card base and I’ve added some wooden embellishments,which I’ve also inked a little around the edges, for a well…woodsy feel!

Shaking off the rain clouds

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Isobel – Thinking of Spring looks like she’s deep in a daydream here 🙂 She’s a beautiful New Release at Crafty Sentiments Designs.She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao & Sketch Markers then fussy cut.I decided to make a bit of a stylised scenic card and had the idea of adding a cloud shaker element.It was a bit fiddly as this die cuts a frame of the cloud and I had to line everything up!It was a process that needed thing about,that’s for sure – or maybe it’s just me 😉 But I did get there in the end 😀 I placed the die cut floral piece in the centre and added the ‘grassy’ hillocks (careful!) across the bottom.The carefully planned out sky strip was then added across the top.I chose the sequins partly because they tie in with the colours of the image and papers but also they reminded me of little raindrops waiting to fall from the clouds.As Isobel appears to be so deep in thought I added the sentiment to reflect that feeling 🙂

Having a Splashing Time on Hochanda ;)

     

I have had the honour of making a couple of samples for Suzette from Crafty Sentiments Designs for the Hochanda shows at 11 am and 3 pm on the 5th June.

Now on to my second card…

Splashing has been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers this time.Some more white gel pen to add a little shine to the pup’s nose along with some glittery ripples in the puddle.This time I’ve made a Shaped Tent Fold card by only die cutting up to the fold then embossing the rest using a stitch effect die.

Fairy Ring ;)

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Isn’t Isobel – Fairy by Crafty Sentiments Designs just the sweetest?After colouring her with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers her wings and shoes were given a coat of Iridescent Medium for some magical fairy sparkle.Next she was fussy cut and added to a pearlescent card base which had been embossed with a folder.It started out as a 5″ x 7″ blank but the folder was for an A6 card so I trimmed it down afterwards.Rather conveniently there were indentations left from the embossing which gave the prefect lines to follow 🙂 I was going to colour the flowers in but having seen the effect on this type of card I decided to leave it as it was.So glad I did as once I added the fairy mounted on foam tape I thought she stood out beautifully.There is shading under her feet but the other shadows are from the lighting (think this shows the dimension).I cut three pearl flowers from a string and coloured the centres with a Copic Ciao Marker.The sentiment is stamped directly onto the base to complete the card.

Here’s the adorable Vase Mouse by Sasayaki Glitter.The flowers,fallen petals and heart on the flowerpot have all been paper pieced.The little mouse,soil and flower pot have been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.I did apply some 3D Crystal Lacquer to his,eyes nose and the heart but it decided to be camera shy!A variety of stitch edged dies have been used to add to the cuteness.The sentiment has been stamped onto the shaped card base.A few flat back pearls and a length of grosgrain ribbon have been added as the finishing touches.Sweet 🙂
