The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Vaentine.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Here’s the adorable Benson Bear ‘Bundle of Hearts’ by Crafty Sentiments Designs all coloured up with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers and a few white gel pen highlights.I decided to make a kind of shaped tent fold card by only die cutting up to the fold then embossing the rest using some stitch effect dies to tie in with the image.Love the red,white and kraft combination so chose some hounds tooth patterned paper and die cut a curvy edge for interest,matting onto some red card cut with a coordinating edge.The sentiment is stamped directly onto the base.The ribbon is salvaged from last year’s Christmas cake and I really can’t take credit for the bow – it was already there ;)Went for a more masculine feel as this will be my DH’s Valentine’s card.It’s OK he never looks at my blog.He’s not interested in bits of paper and card!

A nice ‘pup’ of tea!

Isn’t Cup Pup by Sami Stamps just adorable!The little pup himself has been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.I don’t think the 3D Crystal Lacquer shows too well on his nose…but it is there,honest 😉 A touch of distressing using inks and a tool have taken place too.The cups have all been paper pieced with a little foam tape underneath to raise them up for dimension.These pretty papers are quite thick so they worked well for this 🙂 I thought a DL card would suit this image well so cut and scored one from kraft card.I added a layer of hessian/burlap before adhering the image to the card.A couple of hand cut banners,one with the computer generated sentiment printed on first, have been glued then some added hand stitching to make it look as if that’s how they’re attached to the card.I die cut a few tiny rolled roses and after dabbing the edges with ink chocolate pearls were placed in the centres.It took quite a bit of sourcing these dies in the U.K. especially at the right price but I’m really pleased with them.I usually find most flower dies a bit big and either there’s no room to add them to my cards or they cover too much of the lovely papers.I suppose this card is a fusion of cute,vintage and shabby chic!
