Meet Pizza Chef Mickey  by Digital Delights by Louby Loo.He’s been coloured using Copic Ciao Markers and a few touches of white gel pen.Thought what better way to display than on a pizza – well, more part of a pizza!I die cut a white card blank then covered it with kraft, with a little inking around the edge for a baked, crusty feel.Next a red card tomato sauce layer followed by a cheesy yellow cardstock. Finally a topping of pepperoni and green pepper die cuts to match those on Mickey’s pizza 😀 Whipped up a sentiment using Microsoft Word and that’s that!Didn’t feel it needed extra embellishment. This will be for my DS2’s Birthday in September (gotta get ’em done early you know!) as it’s no secret in our household that it’s his favourite pizza…not sure what he’ll make of the green peppers tho’ as he’s definitely no fan of them!

csdtnr6thapril16

This is my card I’ve made for Day 2 of the New Releases showcase at Crafty Sentiments Designs Inspirational Blog featuring Cookie – Let’s Eat and will be available at Crafty Sentiments Designs shop soon.

April New Release

Make sure you pay the inspirational blog a visit and check out all the wonderful creations the DT are sharing!

After stamping Cookie -Let’s Eat by Crafty Sentiments Designs onto kraft card I coloured this cutie up with Polychromos pencils to get a furry effect.Once the bowl had been coloured some 3D Crystal Lacquer has been applied for shine an dimension. His eyes and nose have been given the same treatment.I’ve teamed the image with some Authentique Celebrate papers. All corners on the layering have been punched. The sentiment has been stamped and each circle die cut.A trio of button topped die cut flowers decorate the bottom right hand corner and a length of ribbon stretched across the centre of the card. The little white ‘buckle’ to brighten the card is recycled from an old bra strap!Don’t worry it had been washed first 😛 LOL

Darla Dogwood Blooming Beauty by Lacy Sunshine really is one – a beauty I mean!Must admit as I’ve never coloured one of these delightful images before I hope I’ve done her justice?!Whilst I’m sticking my hand up I really had no idea where I was going with this card either…it certainly wasn’t what I had pictured in my mind 😉 Still I got to use the papers I’d chosen along with the kraft card.I even printed Darla onto some and coloured her with my Spectrum Noir Pencils. The whites of her eyes have been highlighted with gel pen.No dies this time, only punches for the shaped border and corners. The flowers were punched out from another piece of paper from the same pad too. Most dogwood blossom seems to pink or white but I did find some pics of yellow ones too.So with a bit of artistic licence thrown in that’s what we have here 🙂

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Black and White.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

I thought 60’s Fashion by Crafty Sentiments Designs would be perfect for this colour combo especially all coloured up in the style of an old photograph.I even shied away from normal skintones to add to the effect, tho’ I was tempted! She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers and a few white gel pen highlights have been added too.The paper rose started out white and the leaf green but I decided to give them a more dramatic look by changing them with the Black Copic Marker. The ribbon and buttons are from the same collection as the papers.

G(u)esso’s Having 20 Winks?

At Craft Your Passion the challenges are Always Anything Goes!We have the fabulous Rick St. Dennis as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

The gorgeous 20 Winks by Rick St. Dennis has been printed onto Desert Storm cardstock and,as I haven’t used them in a while, coloured with soft pastel pencils.Plus I’d never used them on this surface before.A few white gel pen highlights have been added to just the fairy and the caterpillar’s eyes to brighten them as the pastels were too faint.Altho’ they lay down quite chalky and dusty and also cover the lines a little, once they are set with the fixative spray they have more depth and vibrancy.I quite like how they’ve turned out on this cardstock too 🙂 Rest of the card is quiet simple…just a die cut base with freebie paper and a woodgrain embossed panel of sanded back Whitewash card,pInk ribbons and gems to match her dress and a sentiment. The gesso has been daubed and smeared about a bit.First time I’ve used it!So much fun but think I ended up covered in more than the card 😉 Drove the dog crazy too – she seemed to love the smell of it – weird?! It was pretty handy to edge the hessian/burlap die cut flowers as it held them together.Usually dab a little PVA dries clear glue around them. This way it ties everything in 🙂

Fairy-ly Blue (and Silver!)

jslgdtnov 001

**Please click on the pic for a clearer view. For some reason they always look a little blurry on the blog page  😦  **

I’m super excited to be sharing a card that I’ve made as a Guest Designer for the Just Some Lines Facebook Challenge. To enter the November Colour Scheme Challenge you need to use any combination of red, green, silver and blue. You may choose just one or two with other colours as long as the listed ones are the main. The other stipulation is that you must use a Just Some Lines image. But with so many beauties in the store it wouldn’t be difficult to choose! My card, along with other wonderful inspiration and extra details on how to enter, can be found on the Just Some Lines Blog too.

You can find the stunning Christmas Fairy at Just Some Lines.I decided to go with a blue/silver combo but as you can see there is a teeny amount of red and green on the image. Her dress has been paper pieced and the rest coloured with Copic Ciao Markers.Being a fairy her wings had to have the obligatory glitter 😀 I coloured them in cool greys first to keep in with the silver part of the theme then coated them in Glamour Dust. The dots on her hair and wings have been defined with a silver pearl pen and the berries on the garland the robin is nestling in with Liquid Pearls. Here’s a closer view :

jslgdtnov 001closeup

The papers and cardstock I’ve had for more years than I care to remember but were just perfect for this project. It’s a good job I’m such a crafty hoarder 😉 Maybe one day I will get through my entire stash – well,in my dreams perhaps! After stamping and punching the sentiment out I thought it was lacking something so I hit upon the idea of framing it with the punched out snowflakes from the border. Not only does this keep everything coordinated it also doesn’t cover up too much else.A length of silver cord with a snowflake charm tied to seemed to finish the whole thing off nicely 🙂

Tip : By paper piecing your image you can coordinate it to the rest of your project and it’s a good way of covering a large area if you are unsure about colouring it.

Here’s the sweet Fashionista from Art by Miran and she’s been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.I just couldn’t resist enhancing those big ol’ blue eyes further with some 3D Crystal Lacquer.Just love these Summery feel papers 🙂 One of my favourite corner punches has been used on the layers and a border punch on the vertical strip so that it could be woven with ribbon.I cheated…gasp!…by adding the bow separately to avoid fiddling about 😉 The flowers are two different punches layered with a gem added to each centre.

Have a ‘horse-some’ Birthday!

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Shaped Cards or Anything But Square. We have the fabulous Doodle Pantry as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

Well..I have to admit I own a Grand Calibur, some Grand Nesties and some Go Kreate Half XXL Frames…so why do I grab a square card every time?! Convenience…laziness…perhaps because they’re buried in the cupboard under stacks of other crafty stuff?Hmmm…not really sure :S So I decided to have fun creating a card with the super adorable Charlie Daisy by Doodle Pantry. Not only do you get Charlie himself (in both B/W outline and colour) you get a whole host of goodies including backing papers, sentiments and lots of other elements to print in outline or colour form to use as embellishments or even as the focal point of your card 😀 Firstly I coloured Charlie using Copic Ciao Markers to coordinate with the papers.Next I pulled out my Grand Calibur and Go Kreate dies to cut the base card and a couple of layers.A panel featuring the other patterned paper has been set askew. As I wanted some texture I pulled out a piece of this wavy corrugated card and stapled a length of raffia lace to it.To embellish I cut out a few pre-coloured daisies and butterflies, adding dots of 3D Crystal Lacquer to them and also to the butterfly that has landed, rather cheekily,on Charlie’s nose.I printed out the sentiment and to create the ‘lozenge’ shape I took the smaller version of the dies I cut the base from and gave them a quarter turn, then trimmed.I adhered it to the orange die cut piece then cut it down to make sure I got it right!Time for some more staples 🙂 I tend to add these on the wonk so there’s no pressure and disappointment when they’re not where they should be!!

Pearly & girly

cypdt17thfeb 001

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Girly Girl.We have the fabulous Crafty Sentiments as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

I’ve coloured up the gorgeous Harriet – In the Background by Crafty Sentiments with Copic Ciao Markers, including the Blender to make a hazy sky.I chose some pretty pink pearly card to go with her. This colour is also found in the background papers and as the floral one is particularly bright I thought it would make a nice contrast.Went to town a bit (well for me!) adding lots of punched and die cut elements as well as lots of embellishments. These include a piece of cheesecloth,a doily (cut in half then doubled up as the paper glared thru’),lots of different sized pearls and a couple of pearly buttons threaded with baker’s twine.I had planned to use and made up a pearl topped pin with a bow tied round it but by the time I’d put everything else in place there wasn’t really a suitable space left for it.Ah,well never mind at least I have something ready for another creation 🙂
