Here I’ve taken the chance to make a Christmas card featuring a Bildmalarna stamp.Sadly these cute little beauties are no longer available but I’ve managed to seek a few out here and there 🙂 This is Mimosa – Amaryllis and she’s been coloured with Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils after being stamped onto Neenah Desert Storm card.Some Frantage has been scattered around the edges.She’s been layered up onto some Forever Friends Christmas Kraft Notes papers.The die cut chevron pieces have actually been snipped in half to make them stretch across the width of the card and as the gap is behind the image nobody will ever know…except I’ve just told you 😉 A stamped sentiment has been added along with a die cut poinsettia…well I don’t have an amaryllis but it’s in keeping with the flower theme!

Dies to Die For still have some of these stamps left in their Retirement Sale.Unfortunately not his one – I think I snapped the last one up!No connection to the company,just a happy customer 🙂

A Basket of Flowers – Easel-y!

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

**I’m late posting this as my internet is still not good 😦 Wish they’d sort it out!!**

I’ve coloured up the sweet Basket of Flowers by Crafty Sentiments Designs with watercolor pencils.I made a pretty shaped easel card to display her on.The stopper is made by die cutting the sentiment four times out of watercolour card and layering it all together,adhering with wet glue.The ribbon threaded border is a Martha Stewart punch.Some flowers were die cut with flat backed pearls added to the centres and the leaf sprays hand cut from a piece of coordinating paper.

**I’m late posting this as I had no internet yesterday – again!Big thumbs down to Talk Talk 😦 **

For my little friend Acorn Hugs by Sami Stamps I’ve used my Polychromos pencils to colour him up giving him a furry effect and texture to the acorn.Blending solution and a paper stump have been applied to give the cup and background a smoother appearance.White Soufflé pen has been added for the highlights and,although it doesn’t show in the pic,3D Crystal Lacquer coats his eyes,nose and acorn.Quite a simplistic design using dies,paper distresser,jute twine and wooden embellishments along with these fabulous papers in Autumnal hues.

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Use Your Favourite Image.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

As I LOVE hedgehogs I just had to choose the most adorable The Hedgehog  by Crafty Sentiments Designs.He’s been stamped directly onto the card base then coloured with Polychromos Pencils and blending solution on his body and face for a smoother appearance.The sentiment was stamped in place before the kraft card overlay with die cut apertures was adhered to the card front with foam pads.Some jute twine was wrapped around the bottom of the panel and wooden flower buttons scattered across the top right corner to finish the card to give it a rustic feel.

Fall-ing for this squirrel

Fall Floral by A Day For Daisies is just soooo adorable!I thought I’d grab the chance to practise rendering fur with coloured pencils.Always something I need to improve on!Was quite pleased when I’d finished but now honing in on my mistakes!!The colours on the flowers have been achieved by pencil blending alone.The grass and pale blue ‘halo’ sky effect have been softened with blending solution and a paper stump.Chose these fabulous Teresa Collins papers to go with this cutie pie.The placement of the sentiment is all part of the design and not to cover a smudge some mucky pup got on the image 😉 LOL.All finished with some natural raffia and a wooden button threaded with paper twine for an organic feel.

Meet Josh – Let’s Go Flying by Crafty Sentiments Designs.Doesn’t he and his little friend look like they’re having fun!He’s from the new release collection ‘Here Come The Boys’ available from the 7th August.Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers have been used to colour this adorable image up.Somehow came up with the idea that these pinwheels would be a cute idea and kind of go along with the air plane theme- think propellers!!Wrapped a few lengths of jute twine around the vertical panel to tie (yes,very punny!) in with the kraft card base.The little buttons in the centres of the pinwheels are actually brads from a girls collection would you believe 😉 The sentiment I cobbled together using a frame and two alphabet stamps.

Sparkling Angel

This is the beautiful,if a little daring,Angel Nevaeh by KennyK Stamps.After printing her onto Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and changing her outline to brown in Microsoft Word she was coloured in a mix of Polychromos,for the skintones,and Spectrum Noir Pencils for the rest.A paper stump dipped in Spectrum Noir Blending Solution was used for smoother effect on her skin.I don’t actually dip the stumps directly into the bottle.I have a teeny jam pot with a piece of the sponge part of a kitchen scourer trimmed to fit inside.That way you don’t get too much on the stump nor does it suck up and waste the solution also.The rest was direct pencil blending.Disappointingly I couldn’t find my normal white Gelly Roll pen so had to opt for my Soufflé pen instead.Oh well, at least she is bright eyed and has a Hollywood smile 😉 You may just about be able to pick out the touches of glitter on her coronet of flowers,wings and dotted onto some of the berries on the wreath on the sentiment.It’s a shame the glittered areas on this pretty paper haven’t shown up…A die cut stitched holly strip adorned with sequins and a length of crochet lace have been used to decorate the card.

As You Like It Challenge : Favourite Papers – Well…so many to choose from…but these are my favourite Christmas papers altho’ I do love First Edition in general.They are more like a thin cardstock than paper so good quality,coordinate beautifully throughout each pad and you get a variety of speciality finishes as in glittered,foiled,UV spot and fabric textured depending on the pad.What more could I ask for? 🙂

Isabella Sunny Days by Rick St.Dennis is such a sweetie 🙂 She’s coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers then fussy cut.I decide to go for a rustic,country feel with some yellow gingham and pale kraft card.The ric rac and cord also follow that theme.The greeting has been cut out with individual alphabet dies.The intention was to leave them open but as I always add inserts to my cards I didn’t want the white to show through and spoil it.So instead I found this scrap of blue spotty paper and adhered it behind and inlaid the letters.I also think this colour gives a little lift.The butterfly was punched from some more kraft and a cute,threaded,flower button added to the centre.She’s just perfect for today….The sun has finally decided to shine here in the UK 😀

(T)hat’s krafty!

Well this is my last Guest Designer project for Imagine That!Digis by Kris! at their Creative Playground Challenge.The theme this month is Tic-Tac-Toe and it runs from  June 4th – July 1st.Stop on by the blog to check out all the wonderful inspiration there!

Huge thanks to Lisa and Kris for having me aboard.Have to say the time flew by – must’ve been having too much fun!!

This time inspiration has been taken from the middle horizontal line…Buttons,Patterned Paper and Ribbon.For the focal image I’ve used the rather beautiful Emma from Imagine That!Digis by Kris and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers.The papers are from Blossoms & Bugs Digi Papers and the sentiment is from Leesa’s Tulip.So real mix and match across sets but they compliment each other beautifully!I wanted to give a country feel so teamed it all with kraft card.Some lovely grosgrain ribbon and a couple of  dark brown buttons complete the look 🙂

Shaking off the rain clouds

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Isobel – Thinking of Spring looks like she’s deep in a daydream here 🙂 She’s a beautiful New Release at Crafty Sentiments Designs.She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao & Sketch Markers then fussy cut.I decided to make a bit of a stylised scenic card and had the idea of adding a cloud shaker element.It was a bit fiddly as this die cuts a frame of the cloud and I had to line everything up!It was a process that needed thing about,that’s for sure – or maybe it’s just me 😉 But I did get there in the end 😀 I placed the die cut floral piece in the centre and added the ‘grassy’ hillocks (careful!) across the bottom.The carefully planned out sky strip was then added across the top.I chose the sequins partly because they tie in with the colours of the image and papers but also they reminded me of little raindrops waiting to fall from the clouds.As Isobel appears to be so deep in thought I added the sentiment to reflect that feeling 🙂
