Beary sweet?Easel-y!

At Craft Your Passion the challenge this week is Beary Sweet. We have the fabby Crafty Sentiments and The Robin’s Nest as our sponsors!Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!

I’ve used the adorable Patches with Balloons by Crafty Sentiments and coloured him with FlexMarkers and ProMarkers.Of course the balloons cried out for a coating of Glossy Accents.I tied a bow with paper raffia ribbon, which I split the loops to give it a more shabby appearance.I copied the layout on the bottom part of the card omitting the paper raffia and added a computer generated sentiment.Yes this corny creation was my own doing! :∫

Supplies :
Image : Patches with Balloons by Crafty Sentiments
Mediums : FlexMarkers,ProMarkers,Glossy Accents
Sentiment : Created by me!

‘Owl’ share with you!

My,my it’s Thursday again already! That means it’s Willow Sketchie Challenge day!!We have a fabby sketch by Shell :

Don’t forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational  bunch.

You could be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend at Willow Designs too!

As soon as I saw it the idea to create this little scene on a tent card popped into my head! All the fabulous papers, images and the banner (cut out from another paper) can all be found on the adorably sweet Polly Pickleberry CD-rom from Willow Designs. That’s the beauty of this CD-rom.Not only are there full illustrations you can print out separate pieces to make your own scenes. There are also pre-coloured images for when time is short or you are new to this type of crafting.I’ve coloured all the elements using FlexMarkers, fussy cut and adhered them to the embossed acetate with Pinflair Glue Gel except the banner, that’s been stuck in place with good ol’ PVA.I’ve inked round the edges of the paper for more definition as I’ve teamed it with a strong red and popped on a couple of die cut photo corners just beacuase I couldn’t bear the empty space.Yeah,I’m like that!

Supplies :
All images and papers : Polly Pickleberry CD-rom by Willow Designs
Mediums : FlexMarkers,Scattered Straw Distress Ink

Sweet Pickle(berry)!

We have a fabby sketch by Pauline at Willow Sketchie Challenge this week :

Add embellishments and a sentiment wherever you wish.

Don’t forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational  bunch.

The image comes from the Polly Pickleberry CD-rom by Willow Designs and has been water coloured using AquaMarkers. The patterned papers and sentiment also come from this jam-packed CD.There’s sooo much to choose from! Not just black and white images. There are coloured images and toppers along with some decoupage too.Loads of pretty papers and sentiments plus some embellishments. If you feel a little unsure about colouring there are some Colour Me Perfect sheets including a list of the ProMarker colours used in the original artwork. For the panel behind the image I chose to use a piece of cheesecloth.I did adhere it with Micro Dots but for extra security and an extra touch,of course,I stapled the corners.I also I added some of my fave paper thread and a butterfly charm.

Supplies :
Image, papers and sentiment : From Polly Pickleberry CD-rom by Willow Designs

A dog-eared post!

We have an Embossing challenge for you at Digi Doodle Shops Challenges this week. Please take a look at the challenge blog for details on how to play along and be in the chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate to spend at Digi Doodle Shop.Don’t forget to check out the wonderful DT work while you’re there.

For my card I’ve used Mail Call  from the Domestic section of the Animals category at Digi Doodle Shop .**Note. The envelope on the image in the store is has NO wording. The sentiment has been added to the envelope using Word as I didn’t have a stamp to fit.** I’ve been experimenting with my pencils again. This time I was trying to achieve a furry effect. It sounds a little daft but I filled in the white area with a white pencil but it does soften and blend the edges a little.Of course being as I’d decided to use black and grey shades my light grey one was AWOL.I have NO idea where it has gone!I think I really could’ve done with it but I’m still quite pleased altho’ I obviously need more practice!!I’ve also only used various kraft card rather than patterned papers.I dry embossed the plain piece and picked it out using Distress Ink.It doesn’t show too well in the pic but the stars are embossed too.All edges have been ‘ruffed’ up (sorry couldn’t resist!) with a paper distresser and some office type embellies complete the card.

Supplies :
Image : Mail Call from Digi Doodle Shop
Sentiment : Created and added in Word
Mediums :  Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils,Black Soot Distress Ink
Cardstock : Papermania 12 x 12 Kraft Basics

Having a mer-ry time

We’re on the search for Mythical Creatures at Craft Your Passion this week!We have two fabulous sponsors too – A Day for Daisies and Pizzaz Aplenty.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!

Here I’ve used the beautiful and whimsical Birthday Mermaid from A Day for Daisies. She’s been coloured with Polychromos  pencils and blended with low odour oils thinners using a paper stump.I only used a dry stump on her hair to leave the detail of the pencil strokes for a more realistic approach.Of course I had to apply Glossy Accents to the balloons. The papers are actually called Ooh La La for him but they’re so beautiful I just had to use them with her.Well bang went my promise  NOT to buy any more papers but when I found these for £3.99 at my local craft warehouse it was just too good to resist!!The pearl brads were another bargain from there at 99p!Both this items have been on my wish list for a very long time.I added the ribbon overlayed with some cord from my stash, topped with a die cut swirl and flower.I made a tab type sentiment to complete the card.

For my card I’ve used Birds Nest from Digi Doodle Shop.Although I’ve used it for a New Home card it could be applied to many different occasions. It’s been coloured with pastel pencils for a soft look and I allowed it to flow over the edge of the die cut.I chose papers that had a wallpaper feel to them and added a key charm to tie in with the theme too.The felt flowers topped with buttons also reflect the softness of the image and give a home furnishings touch.
