I decided to have another crack at watercolouring thinking it would tie in with the softer palette of the challenge 🙂 I chose the beautiful Breeze in Spring by A Day For Daisies and printed her on watercolour paper.Next I used AquaMarkers and a slightly damp paintbrush to delicately shade her.Bit unsure of my skill level here but she’s such a sweet ,tender thing I don’t think it matters too much 😉 I pulled out some pretty pastel papers and pink card to go with her,a trio of my favourite punches (that I don’t use often enough!)  along with a few pearls and my new bow die that arrived in the post just in time for me to use o this card 😀

This is the beautiful New Spring by BB Kakes available at Stitchy Bear’s Digi Outlet. She was a delight to colour up with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers 🙂 For a more detailed finish to her eggshell I gave it a coating of Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint. Here’s a closer look :

Have you scene Spring?

jsldt12thapril

So we’re now into week two of the Think Spring  challenge at  Just Some Lines. To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3 🙂

I created a little scene combining the adorable Emo Layla Gardener 2  and the butterfly and Snowdrops from Emo Amber Springtime Value Set by Just Some Lines .All coloured up with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers 🙂 Tried out a freebie embossing folder that came with  the latest Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine on some Whitewash card.Works beautifully 😀 Couple of pieces of torn paper cover the corners. The Raffia Lace has been attached with coloured staples. The bottom right corner of the image was looking a little bare so I stamped part of the greeting there and added cut up pieces of the other half, tucking them in behind the image.I popped a cute little wooden clothes peg on too  🙂 As I had dusted off a box of seldom used punches for another project I grabbed the heart to make a flower, having drawn inspiration from the butterfly’s wings. To the centre a paper twine threaded button has been added.I think it turned out rather cute and full of the joys of Spring…do you?

Supplies :

Gift of the Gab :)

jsldt5thapril

It’s the beginning of a another new challenge at Just Some Lines. This month we’re looking forward to seeing your Think Spring creations. To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3 🙂

Here’s the beautiful Gab – Just Gab by Just Some Lines .Doesn’t she look like she’s enjoying Spring?!  I thought I’d brush up (pun intended!) on my watercolouring skills – or lack of them 😉 The purpose of the exercise was supposed to be practising with Distress Inks but as I pulled the boxes out the cupboard I found my AquaMarkers. To think I’d actually forgotten I had them!So out they came to play. The beauty of these is when it came to the fine detail I just used the pens to fill it in.No worrying about going over the lines or bleeding into what’s already painted.I did actually blend out a little on her headband and ribbons with out having to change to a smaller brush 🙂 Not really sure how it turned out but Gab’s that pretty I’m sure it doesn’t matter 😉 For the card I just layered up these gorgeous papers that I try not use too much, cutting and embossing a frame  for her,and adding some piercing details to the papers. The sentiment on the stamped and die cut button seemed pretty apt 🙂 Some baker’s twine and buttons have been used to decorate.

Supplies :
