At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Christmas in July.We have the fabulous Crafty Sentiments as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

This cute little fella is Christmas Penguin by Crafty Sentiments  and he’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers. For some seasonal sparkle I’ve added some tinsel to the bobble on his hat and accents of Crystal Glamour Dust to the floating ice. I’m trying to use up all my old Christmas stash up and resisting buying more…except for a few stamps and digi’s 😉 These are my favourite papers that I’ve been clinging onto but now it’s time to let go…The cardstock is a past purchase too.The stamp I bought earlier this year to use for the 2014 festive season. The charms I bought in big bundle from eBay the year before, and I’m still ploughing through them.I’ve hung it from some jute twine – just love this stuff 😀

As soon as I saw this adorable Birthday Pug by 2 Cute Ink I knew I had to play with him!My DD1 has a real thing for these little dogs since she saw then being dressed up in a series of ads on the TV a little while back so I thought I’d jump in and make a card for her birthday in October!!He’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers.Couldn’t resist glossing up his eyes and nose – and the camera has actually picked it up 🙂 The sentiment isn’t actually on the original image,it’s been stamped on.I chose a mix of colourful papers to go with him.An arch shaped die was used to cut and layer him up.I’ve  used my favourite corner rounder punch on all the backing pieces. The rosette/flower thing is made up of punched, folded circles adhered to another punched circle. Some baker’s twine and a button have been added to finish.

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Buttons Galore! We have the fabulous QKR Stampede and The Robin’s Nest as our sponsors too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

How cute is this little Stuffed Reindeer by QKR Stampede?!He’s been printed directly onto the kraft card blank and coloured with Copic Ciao Markers, trying to retain the tartan detail.Just love how the colours turn out on these card bases 🙂 I’ve added some real buttons, threaded with jute twine,to his eyes and trousers.I had hoped to find a tiny pom pom for his nose amongst the kids crafting supplies but the only ones there were far too big.Never mind.A couple of scrap strips have been trimmed with decorative edged scissors to create a kind of ric rac look.In the top corner I’ve used some Epiphany epoxy button stickers stuck onto more scrap papers.I found these half price in my local craft warehouse and figured that rather than buy the special punch to go with them it would be easy enough to trim around them once adhered to paper.I then used a pokey tool to pierce the holes ready for threading 😀 Worked a treat…Yay!A leftover holly die cut is just peeking out from beneath them. Finally I stamped a sentiment,a freebie from one of last year’s Christmas magazines,in the top right corner.Chosen because he makes me smile 🙂

Supplies :

Wishing you Joy(fold) this Christmas

cypdt 001

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is More Than One Fold.We have the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps,Eureka Stamps and Bunny Zoe’s Crafts as our sponsors too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

I’ve decided to revamp an old favourite,a twist on a Joy Fold Card,to go with this beautiful Wreath with Bird by Eureka Stamps. As soon as I saw it I knew I didn’t want to just colour it.I wanted to add some dimension too.Once coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers I then cut and coloured a layer consisting of the bow loops including the little bird, which I chose to turn into a Robin.Next I added the knot as in the original image it appears that the bird is nestled in just behind. The berries are Liquid Pearls. To create the card base I cut away roughly half of the front using a Grand Nestabilities Die and made a smaller card with a matching Nestabilities Die.Normally I would’ve plonked (technical term!) the smaller folded piece in the middle but I had the idea of securing the flap into place a button so being butted up to the far right edge seemed the better option.

Here is a pic to show how it works opened up :

cypdt 002

All edges of card and paper have been Distress inked and the sentiment stamped.Sadly the lovely lady who made it is no longer trading 😦 To complete the look some ribbon,a button, jute twine and a couple of sprigs cut from my new Cheery Lynn Die.Have to admit this is the first one I’ve bought (yeah,I know) but will definitely be tempted to buy some more 🙂

For my card I’ve used Dino Lunch by Digi Darla and coloured him with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.I dug out these Basic Grey papers that not only go well with dinosaurs they make great boys cards too.I stamped the greeting straight onto the image piece and framed it with a sticker from the paper set.A button, border and arrow have also been added. To finish off I’ve embellished with a few brads.

Krafty Baby Rudolf!

dscdt17thjune 001

At Digi Sketch Challenge we have another new challenge and the theme this fortnight is Christmas in June.We have the super Delicious Doodles as our sponsor.

It’s the lovely Margreet’s turn to host and here’s her fabby sketch :

You can follow the sketch, theme or even both.Hope you stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.

For my card I’ve used the adorable Baby Rudolf by Delicious Doodles and coloured him with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers. And he wouldn’t be Rudolf without his shiny nose would he?So 3D Crystal Lacquer has been applied to that!Because I’ve cut him out from another card blank so that he I was able to colour him on matching kraft card I’ve used a white gel pen on his eyes, nose and the underneath of his tail. His spots have been given more pop with a white Souffle pen. I’ve simply added a couple of strips of paper to a kraft card base. They have been cut using some decorative scissors.A length of ric rac  has been added over the reindeer paper and a cute red bell has been tied to that. The sentiment has been stamped onto the card base.I’m pleased how well the pens worked on this particular kraft and as the blanks are reasonably priced I will definitely be making more of these. The added bonus is I don’t have to use too much paper (more for me to stroke!) altho’ for posting purposes I would choose a flatter embellishment.Plus how could I not with this sweet little guy?! 🙂

1 Christmas card down.Many more to go.LOL 😀

Supplies :

Some-tin sew pretty

cypdt24thdec 003

At Craft Your Passion this week we want you to Alter It (you need to alter an item using any medium and crafty tools you have in your craft room). We have the fabulous The Robin’s Nest as our sponsor too. Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!

A while ago I bought some lovely Coffee and Cream Woodware buttons but as they came in cellophane bag they kept escaping into the bottom of my craft tote making it difficult to find them.So this seemed the ideal opportunity to make something specia lto keep them in – after all they deserve it!I took a Christmas tin that one of my kids had a small gift of sweets in a few years ago (yes I’m a hoarder!) :

cypdt24thdec 001

I used some gorgeous papers and beautiful stamps that came free with the January issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine (as a subscriber I get my issue early). First I stamped a piece of spotty paper with the measuring tape stamp and wrapped it around the tin, leaving a gap at the top as the lid does fit very tightly!Next I covered the side and top of the lid with some light coloured kraft card edged with Coffee Archival Ink.Then I die cut a lacy circle from the flip side of the spotty paper, this rather pretty floral design, again edged with Archival ink.A length of this natural looking ric rac that I found at my local craft warehouse was adhered around the edge of the lid. As soon as I saw it I had to have it as it brought back fond memories from my childhood.I remember my Mum making summer dresses and edging them with this stuff 🙂 Unfortunately I never inherited her needlework skills and altho’ she tried I was given up on as a hopeless case..lol.After stamping the thread card I wound some embroidery floss around it.I found this fab pink topped pin in my stash and added a needle that drives me crazy as the eye is far too small to thread anything through it!I filed the ends down so they are blunt tho’ 😉 I’m clumsy enough! The flowers were cut up from some daisy chain lace that has been lurking for far too long and topped with some pearls to match the pin.The two plastic buttons are the Woodware ones and the wooden heart one was another escapee taking refuge in the bottom of my tote so I decided to throw that in for good measure too.All have been threaded with the same floss as before. Here are some more pics :

cypdt24thdec 004

cypdt24thdec 005

Being put to good use 😀 Luckily the tin was pale blue so it doesn’t look too bad with the lid off 😉 As I don’t have a craft room I wanted to create something that wouldn’t look out of place sat on the dresser in my bedroom.I hope I’ve achieved that.

Supplies :

Papers & Stamps : Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine freebie
Card : Light coloured kraft from my stash
Medium : Coffee Archival Ink
Adhesives : Ultra sticky DST for sticking papers and card to tin,Cosmic Shimmer Acrylic Glue for adhering embellishment
Tools : X-Cut guillotine,Nellie Snellen Multi Frame Dies Flower Circles,Big Shot,Decoupage scissors,Basic Grey Precision File Set
To embellish : Woodware Coffee and Cream Buttons,We R Memory Keepers Brown Floss,Wooden Heart button,Flat backed Pearls,Daisy chain lace,Ric rac all from stash,Needle and Pin from my sewing drawer

Sentimental Christmas

Sentiment Only is the challenge theme for Craft Your Passion this week.So the focus must be on the sentiment and no other images are allowed. We have the fab Simon Says Stamp! as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!

As we’re well in to March and I haven’t made one Christmas card yet I thought this would give me the ideal opportunity to do so.The sentiment is from Crazibout Stamps but sadly they don’t seem to exist anymore. 😦 I decided on framing the stamped words with a holly wreath and used my new Punch Around the Page Set for the first time.I have to admit I found it fiddly at first to lay the leaves down but soon got the hang of it and can see more of these being made with different papers and ribbons. The berries are Liquid Pearls.I had a lot of fun making this!

‘Owl’ love you forever!

After seeing Winnie come out to play Walter has decided he needed to make an appearance too!

The delightful and charming Be my Valentine Walter is from Willow Designs. He’s  been coloured with ProMarkers and to give him a doe eyed look I’ve used Glossy Accents. They’ve also been added to his welly boots and heart.I’ve not made a shaped card in a while so I thought I’d add him to one.I also bought a paper ribbler a while back, put it away, then forgot where I put it and finally made the effort to search for it as I thought these little hand cut banners would be a quirky little touch. They’ve been wrapped with  some baker’s twine and the bottom one has some heart brads that I’ve had foreveeeer attached to it.

Supplies :
