Stanley – Happy Days by Crafty Sentiments Designs certainly looks like he has plenty to celebrate! He’s a new release digi stamp too!!A double celebration then 😀 I’ve coloured him up with a number of mediums.Stanley, the bottle and cork have been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.Metallic ProMarkers in Gold and Silver give the label a foiled look.Stardust Pen give the hearts a glittery touch and some extra fizz has been given to the Champagne bubbles with a Graph’It Shake Marker.A few white gel pen highlights  and 3D Crystal Lacquer add shine to the bottle and Stanley’s nose. There…I think that’s it 😉 For the rest of the card I’ve used some patterned paper and wooden wording from paper of a Stampin’ Up prize I won in a draw at Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine’s website.Such a lovely surprise to have that drop through my door! The wooden star buttons and twine I already had in my stash.

I thought 60’s Fashion by Crafty Sentiments Designs would be perfect for this colour combo especially all coloured up in the style of an old photograph.I even shied away from normal skintones to add to the effect, tho’ I was tempted! She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers and a few white gel pen highlights have been added too.The paper rose started out white and the leaf green but I decided to give them a more dramatic look by changing them with the Black Copic Marker. The ribbon and buttons are from the same collection as the papers.

At Craft Your Passion the challenges are Always Anything Goes!We have the fabulous Deedee’s Digis as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

As soon as I saw this owl image in the Teacher’s Pet set by Deedee’s Digis I just knew I had to make some kind of book style card. The idea for this one came from here at Card-Making-Magic.Of course,this pre-coloured image is one of a few images you get (in different formats),along with a couple of papers and several sentiments!Great value 🙂 I added a bookplate die cut containing one of the sentiments attached with eyelets,a baker’s twine tied paperclip and an extra large eyelet. This is for one of my DS2’s teachers and it’s his last year at Primary School before he starts ‘Big School’ in September. It’s also kind of an end of an era for us as he’s our youngest. He has 2 part time teachers and a teaching assistant. So I guess I will using the rest of this fab kit to make a couple more of these style cards 😉

Supplies :

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything But a Card.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

I wanted to try something a bit different with the adorable Molly – Sunflowers by Crafty Sentiments Designs. After mulling over a few gardening related ideas I thought about making a flower pot and adding in some handmade sunflowers.I found a great video here to create a wood effect planter type. She does omit the measurements for the main body of the pot but I figured out it needed to be 11cm high and the length of an A4 piece of card. She also uses a wood panel stamp but not having one I embossed with a folder instead and rubbed ink over it.I would have preferred to use my woodgrain embossing folder but as it’s still AWOL I made do with this one :S I added in some greenery as a filler cut from an icicle die and made up my sunflowers from yellow card after inking them and folding the petals for more dimension. The stems are some re-purposed round lolly sticks coloured to match the grass and leaves. The sunflower centres are buttons threaded with jute button thread and I tied a thicker piece of the same type of twine around the outside for a rustic feel.Molly was coloured with Copic Ciao Markers then fussy cut before being popped up on foam tape for dimension. There all done and it was quite easy to construct too – a huge bonus in my book 😀

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Bright Colours.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Here’s the dynamic Tobey – Roller Skates by Crafty Sentiments Designs. He’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers with a few white gel pen highlights.I’m so glad I found these papers 🙂 They’re just perfect for this challenge and more impact has been given teaming them with this orange card. Now,glitter is usually the last thing I would go to for a male themed card but I thought I’d liven it up a bit with some touches of Glitter Shake Pen in gold for the centres of the stars and to draw around the shooting one on the sentiment. This was then heat embossed with clear powder for a cabouchon effect.A length of paper twine has been stretch across the border strip,a looped and tied bunch added then finally topped with a button threaded with more paper twine for a dimensional finish.

Here’s my 1st December creation for you.

As soon as I saw the beautiful New Winter Skates  by Crafty Sentiments Designs I knew exactly what I wanted to do with her 🙂 I found this photo glitter dome in a local bargain shop and as luck would have it my little stamped beauty fitted it perfectly 🙂 Love it when a plan falls in place!!She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers and to created some lovely dimension on the trimmings of her clothing I pulled out my Fluffy Stuff. This is an amazing product. To watch it as you heat is just pure magic – but then maybe I’m easily pleased or just need to get out more LOL.Also this is perfect for this project as once set it’s there.Needs to be with the rigorous shaking this will get! Here’s a pic of the back view with some patterned paper backing with a lovely Seasonal greeting :

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Birthday Bonanza! We have the fabulous Heather Ellis as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

I’ve decided to try and take a different approach with my card making recently.Rather than the usual patterned paper matted and layered onto coordinating card for the background etc…Soooo what’s the first thing I do here?Mat a piece of patterned paper onto the card blank :s Still at least I took the time to hand stitch with some baker’s twine. And then I did  do something unusual, well for me at least 😉 This lil’ cutie is Pure Innocence 013 by Heather Ellis and you can find her by scrolling down the page a little.Heather also has a bit of a sale going on and some of her delightful images are as little as 50p!Anyways she’s been coloured with Graph’It Markers and is wearing a paper pieced dress. This has also been given some depth with a Graph’It Marker. Now for the diverse part…I’ve created this frame piece by die cutting an oval to fit the image, embossing  some textured card with some loverly spots.Because my folder wasn’t long enough to cover it entirely I chose to lay it across the other way and centre it.Now what to do about those plain ends?Punch ’em!Now what to do about those pesky lines where the folder ended?Pierce ’em!Opted not to stitch them as well…gives a cleaner look. Then I positioned it over the top and adhered it using thin (1mm) foam tape. The little banners poking out the side were cut from another sheet of paper from the same pack.To finish I took an Epiphany Craft Epoxy Self-Adhesive Button and lay it over a yet another piece of paper from the same  collection. No prizes for guessing it had buttons printed all over it!As I’m too tight wise and frugal to part with 20 quid (!) for a matching punch I just made sure it stuck down well and trimmed round with some decoupage scissors, followed by a pokey tool to make the holes 🙂

Supplies :

cypdt10thmar 002

He’s  The Boy & The Dog 003.The colouring is with Graph’It Markers and altho’ it doesn’t show up the puddle has a coating of  3D Crystal Lacquer.I’ve also sponged a little ink around to take the witness off the background. This time I cut the card blank down them made the topper fit the length of the original size of the card. I kind of used the same principle  with the embossing folder and aperture ‘cept this folder covered the whole area.I added two handcut banners to the base.Once I’d inked the edges for  extra definition they were attached and I ran down the side with an EK Success Piercing Bug in a wobbly fashion then cross stitched to compliment the pattern in the paper.I die cut a couple of clouds and inked their bottoms….careful!…lol… XD A sentiment was cut from another piece of paper (as in the above card). Some of the edges were distressed and I added piercing to the scalloped edge 🙂

So it’s now the third week of the Love & Hearts challenge at Just Some Lines. To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3!

Thought I’d take a meander off the usual love themed route.Hopefully this would put a smile on somebody who needs it’s face 🙂 Just to show how much you care.I’ve coloured the amusing Jessi Hugs a Cat by Just Some Lines with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.Must admit it looks as tho’ she’s enjoying it more than her feline friend is 😉 I dug out these magazine freebie  Nitwit Collection papers to go with her and backed everything with kraft card. The tab on the side is cut using X-Cut dies and the scallop border on the bottom of the image has been created with a punch. The sentiment has been die cut and then had the right hand side trimmed off.I added a brad to the remaining hole.A few jute twine threaded wooden buttons have been scattered around the edge of the image to complete the card.
