Isn’t Isobel – Flower Fairy by Crafty Sentiments Designs just the sweetest and most gorgeous of creatures.I coloured her on kraft with Polychromos Pencils, adding a little white gel pen and Glamour Dust then fussy cutting her.I recently treated myself to these lovely papers, flowers and stamps (after wanting them for soooo long).Cut the border with Spellbinders Classic Postage Stamp Edgeabilities using this insert with them for the first time even tho’ I’ve had them for about 3 years!!Deffo gonna use ’em more often, but then I say that about everything 😉 Buttons and twine from stash complete the look.

Fairy-ly Blue (and Silver!)

jslgdtnov 001

**Please click on the pic for a clearer view. For some reason they always look a little blurry on the blog page  😦  **

I’m super excited to be sharing a card that I’ve made as a Guest Designer for the Just Some Lines Facebook Challenge. To enter the November Colour Scheme Challenge you need to use any combination of red, green, silver and blue. You may choose just one or two with other colours as long as the listed ones are the main. The other stipulation is that you must use a Just Some Lines image. But with so many beauties in the store it wouldn’t be difficult to choose! My card, along with other wonderful inspiration and extra details on how to enter, can be found on the Just Some Lines Blog too.

You can find the stunning Christmas Fairy at Just Some Lines.I decided to go with a blue/silver combo but as you can see there is a teeny amount of red and green on the image. Her dress has been paper pieced and the rest coloured with Copic Ciao Markers.Being a fairy her wings had to have the obligatory glitter 😀 I coloured them in cool greys first to keep in with the silver part of the theme then coated them in Glamour Dust. The dots on her hair and wings have been defined with a silver pearl pen and the berries on the garland the robin is nestling in with Liquid Pearls. Here’s a closer view :

jslgdtnov 001closeup

The papers and cardstock I’ve had for more years than I care to remember but were just perfect for this project. It’s a good job I’m such a crafty hoarder 😉 Maybe one day I will get through my entire stash – well,in my dreams perhaps! After stamping and punching the sentiment out I thought it was lacking something so I hit upon the idea of framing it with the punched out snowflakes from the border. Not only does this keep everything coordinated it also doesn’t cover up too much else.A length of silver cord with a snowflake charm tied to seemed to finish the whole thing off nicely 🙂

Tip : By paper piecing your image you can coordinate it to the rest of your project and it’s a good way of covering a large area if you are unsure about colouring it.

Supplies :

All that glitters…

cypdt18thfeb 001

… is difficult to photograph…LOL

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is All That Glitters. So a good excuse to get sprinkling 😉 We have the fabulous Stamp Fairy as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!

For my card I’ve used Molly Fairy by Stamp Fairy and coloured her with Polychromos pencils and blended with low odour oils thinners using paper stumps.I then glittered up her wings, hairband, star on her wand and boots. After fussy cutting her I mounted her on foam pads onto this fab die cut (a new set I bought). The papers are all beautifully glittered too but the camera has failed to capture it.I hand cut the hexagon border from another sheet in the pad.The corner is cut from the same set of dies and fitted perfectly with the punched corners –  love it when a plan comes together 🙂 I stamped a sentiment onto yet another piece of card cut with this set.I layered up a grosgrain ribbon bow and a glittered button (that unfortunately doesn’t show either) tied with some paper twine to embellish.

Supplies :

Image : Molly Fairy by Stamp Fairy
Mediums : Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils,Low Odour Oils Thinners,Memento Rhubarb Stalk Dew Drop Ink Pad,Crystal Glamour Dust

Oh ‘snow’ pretty!

jsldt8thdec 001

Just a reminder that the Winter Wonderland challenge at Just Some Lines  is still running until 11:59 pm EST on Thursday 13th December.Plenty of time to join us then! You could be in the running for a super prize. You need play along with a Just Some Lines image  to enter and one random winner will get a $12 Gift Certificate to spend in the shop. It doesn’t stop there tho’ as the Top 3 will get one digi stamp each too! There is a freebie to get you started too or you can choose one from Just Some Lines here.

For my card I’ve used the very pretty Emo Snowflake by Just Some Lines and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers and added some Glamour Dust festive sparkle.I’ve used some Dovecraft papers left over from last year along with some lovely pearlecent cardstock, also scraps from last Christmas’s makes. Now, normally I’d go for green holly with red berries but to go with the cool flavour of the card I cut them all out in white.I did think to coat the berries in red Liquid Pearls but decided it might take the ateention away from the image.Besides I quite like the shimmery halo effect around her.The sentiment,a freebie, was stamped directly onto the background paper and glitzed up with more glitter.

Supplies :

Tagging along fairy-ly

It’s my turn to host at Willow Sketchie Challenge this week and here’s my sketch :

I’ve also set the theme of ‘Tag You’re It !’.Add a tag to your card, make a tag,or even a matching set.Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and/or theme. You could be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend at Willow Designs too! As well as a winner (chosen randomly) there will be a hand picked Top 3 and they will receive a super cute badge for their blog.Don’t forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.

Well I’ve pushed the boat out and created a card with a matching tag,had to really as it was all my big idea, featuring Fairy Dance digital stamp from Willow Designs. She’s been coloured with Copic Sketch and Ciao Markers and been given Glamour Dust wings.I made both bases for the card and tag with kraft card and layered up some Polly Pickleberry CD-rom papers onto some coordinating card.I stamped a couple of sentiments and added one to tag to tie onto my card. The other is the focal point of the tag, embellished with some teeny star gems and more Glamour Dust.I picked out the aqua colour highlights from the bird backing paper and twisted two shades of floss together. The ribbon is from atop I bought. It’s the pieces that hold clothes on the hanger. Not sure how I manage it but no matter how much ribbon I buy it’s always these that match a project perfectly 😀

Life is like a box of chocolates…

The challenge at Just Some Lines is Reduce,Reuse,Recycle this time. There are some changes to the challenge too. From now on only projects made with Just Some Lines images can be entered. But the good news is there will be a freebie image posted on the blog for the duration of the challenge for you to use!Just pop on over to Just Some Lines to find out all the details. While you’re  there don’t forget to get inspired by the DT’s creations.

For my card I’ve used Fairy Kyra Watching n Waiting from Just Some Lines. She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers, using paler colours on her wings to give them a see-through appearance ,before coating them in Glamour Dust. All the coloured and patterned card is from a chocolate box, including the tag that I fashioned from the menu and some other pieces of card from the box.I placed a flower punched from the border, just turned over to show the flip side. Here’s the box in all it’s original glory :

So after scoffing all the scrummy chocs I was left with this delicious delight! The ribbon was wrapped around a recently purchased towel bale and the hairy string (one of my all time faves!) is from a clothing price tag.The flat backed pearls and eyelet I’ve had in my stash for quite some time so I got to use up some surplus stock too!!I have too much stuff kicking around, mostly ‘junk’ I’ve collected so it was great to put some of this into good use.One thing that amazed me was how I’ve stored this eclectic and totally mixed bag of  items and yet it’s all come together perfectly colour coordinated! How many times do we buy things we think will go with what we already have and they really don’t?!

‘Owl’ sparkle festively

The lovely Kelly is hosting the Willow Sketchie Challenge this week.We have a sketch that our former DT Coordinator Hazel has kindly allowed us to use :

The theme is Festive Sparkle and Shine.Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and/or theme.

For my card I’ve used an image and paper from the Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD-rom from Willow Designs.Perfect Present has been coloured with ProMarkers but not just any old ProMarkers. The colours are from across all 4 packs of the Limited Edition ones. The backing paper has been given a coating of Spray & Sparkle. On the image I’ve added Liquid Pearls to the furry trims on his hat and sprinkled with Glamour Dust. The spots on his hat and present have been enhanced with a Souffle pen.The glint in his eyes has been created with some 3D Crystal Lacquer and some Glamour Dust has been applied to the bow on his pressie. For extra sparkle and shine some gems have been added to the corners of the image panel.I think you might be able to tell I had a little fun with this one 😀

Now for some more fun…of the Halloween kind…

With the kids dressing up for Trick or Treat our dear doggy Socks thought if it’s good enough for them it’s certainly good enough for her!She gets so excited when she gets to join in too.I added the effects in PicMonkey.Mind you I’m not sure if she really is that scary…you can still see the kindness and affection in her eyes. She’s such a sweetie…

And one last pic of something else I made for Halloween :

Can’t take credit for the design tho’.That’s courtesy of Pumpkin Masters.

Dressed to frill!

And a ‘frilling’ time it is!This is an exciting post for me as I was recently chosen to join the Just Some Lines DT!

A little while back I won some of their fabulous images from a challenge I entered, then was completely taken by surprise at being asked to do a GDT tutorial spot for them and now I’m a fully fledged DT member!Maybe it was meant to be!!

So on to the challenge which is Use 2 or More Mediums. There’s the chance to win a brilliant prize or picked as part of the Top 3.If you use a Just Some Lines image you choose to make an anything goes project or play along using the theme.Just pop on over to Just Some Lines to find out all the details. While you’re  there don’t forget to get inspired by the DT’s creations. You’ll get to see the other new girls too. There will also be a mid challenge reminder where there be more of the DT’s work on show.

For my card I’ve used the gorgeous Jenny Dress up  from Just Some Lines.I kinda went to town on this one.I’ve spent so much time and money collecting stuff and mostly I just colour with one medium.Maybe if I remember I might add a touch of sparkle, gloss or gel pen highlights.Well now I’m going to list everything I used to dress this girl up…Jenny is coloured with ProMarkers, white gel pen highlights, silver gel pen on her jewellery, her shoes were originally coloured with a Copic Atyou Spica pen but there just wasn’t enough sparkle so I smothered them in Glamour Dust, background coloured with pastel pencils…and finally…placed some tiny dots of Stickles around her.Not really sure if glitter and Stickles count as mediums, especially the former, but I wanted to bling her up.It’s no wonder she’s showing those shoes off!

Here’s a close up :

Papers are a freebie, the message is from a stamp set I won.Perhaps the ink I stamped with could be counted as another medium ;).I added some die cut swirls.Yet another seldom used craft item – oooh I’m bad.Just had to embellish with some Web Ribbon and of course some glamorous gems.

Supplies :

Endear-Wryn little fairy

Flips and Folds is the theme at Craft Your Passion this week So we want to see your cards with more than one flip/fold.We have the fab Tiddly Inks and Robin’s Nest as our sponsors too!.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!

For my card I’ve used the totally adorable Wryn Fairy Friends  from Tiddly Inks. Not only do you get Wryn herself but you get some super extras. She’s been coloured on kraft using pastel pencils with white souffle pen on the spots of the toadstool. Her wings were coloured with the same pen and sprinkled with Glamour Dust. The snail and butterflies were coloured and cut out then added with teeny foam squares to add dimension.I decided to try a Side Spring card as I never made one before and found a great tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers.I did actually make mine from a piece of cardstock 1″ bigger all round (6 1/2″ x 9 1/2″) and adjust where I scored accordingly.I used white frames to add some pop plus some of these beautiful free papers.

Globe-al Sparkle

Lots of Sparkle is the challenge this week at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges. What you waitin’ for get shakin’ with the glitter?!Please take a look at the challenge blog for details on how to play along and be in the chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate to spend at Digi Doodle Shop.Don’t forget to check out the beautiful DT work while you’re there.

You also have the chance of winning a $5 Gift Certificate!Until 12/1/2012, for every 50 new followers, DDS will pick a follower to win a gift certificate to our shop. We’ll have our first draw upon reaching 600.At this moment in time we’re up to 539.So why not pop over to Digi Doodle Shop Challenges and become a follower!

As it’s the 1st of the month (December already?!) there is a new sale statring from today. There are some new digi stamps instore too!

A big thank you to those who helped with your generous donations to Pet Pardons.A total of $78.00 will be winging it’s way to aid these poor animals.

Now onto my card.I’ve used Christmas Globe by Digi Doodle Shop and coloured it with ProMarkers.I masked the rest of the image and applied a coating of Crafter’s Companion Spray & Sparkle after placing the image in my sophisticated ‘spray booth’…well…OK… it’s a tatty old shoe box lined with kitchen towel but it does the job. This gives the impression it has just been shaken without going to the trouble of making a shaker card.I also added a touch of glitter to the poinsettia. The glitter card I’ve used sheds by the bucket load so I applied some Crafter’s Companion Spray & Shine to seal it all in.Now it can’t get away from me!I used a Punch Around the Page set on the mat the globe is set on.The panel on the front of the image is blank so I stamped a greeting on there. The big jewel on the bow is actually a push pin.I messed up when I bought 2 packs of these thinking they were brads.I just trimmed down the back with wire cutters and set it in place with silicon glue.I die cut some  snowflakes and topped the middles with gems.Hope this is sparkly enough for you!
