At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Black,White,Red & Kraft. We have the fabulous QKR Stampede as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.
The answer to my riddle,of course,is my card!I’ve printed this delightful Zebra by QKR Stampede onto kraft card and coloured him with Polychromos pencils. No fancy skills here just wanted to make his non-black stripes white 🙂 A little blue pencil has been blended out around him to create a sky effect and the grass beneath picked out with brown.I’ve wanted to make one of these Polaroid style frames for a while. It totally takes me back to when I got one of these cameras for my tenth birthday 😀 Wanting it to be as close to the real thing as possible I rather sadly looked up the measurements then used a Nestie as close to the actual photo size as I could get.So simple and it worked!I decided to stamp the greeting directly onto it.I’ve taken a pennant die and used it as a button topped tab, curled around the frame. The card base has been cut from some printed kraft card.A small border, edged with one of my most favourite punches, wrapped with ribbon has been added to this before the frame was mounted using foam tape for dimension.Job done 🙂

So it’s the last week of the month long Love & Hearts challenge at Just Some Lines.Well, that’s another month over!To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3.
I’ve taken this sweet Butterfly Bear by Just Some Lines and coloured her with soft pastel pencils, blended out for a softer appearance.I remembered I had this heart paper buried in my stash and just had to dig it out to use with her 🙂 I drew on some faux stitching around the edges.I punched a border down one side of the vertical strip and used some dies to cut out the bear and stamped sentiment.A couple of adhesive gems cover the holes, where you would normally place a brad,on the sentiment piece to give a prettier look. The flower has been stamped onto more of the patterned paper and cut out.A heart shaped button has been adhered to the centre to cover the round one that’s on the image and a couple of wooden leaves have been placed either side as a finishing touch. This was a last minute decision but I like it 🙂

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Girly Girl.We have the fabulous Crafty Sentiments as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.
I’ve coloured up the gorgeous Harriet – In the Background by Crafty Sentiments with Copic Ciao Markers, including the Blender to make a hazy sky.I chose some pretty pink pearly card to go with her. This colour is also found in the background papers and as the floral one is particularly bright I thought it would make a nice contrast.Went to town a bit (well for me!) adding lots of punched and die cut elements as well as lots of embellishments. These include a piece of cheesecloth,a doily (cut in half then doubled up as the paper glared thru’),lots of different sized pearls and a couple of pearly buttons threaded with baker’s twine.I had planned to use and made up a pearl topped pin with a bow tied round it but by the time I’d put everything else in place there wasn’t really a suitable space left for it.Ah,well never mind at least I have something ready for another creation 🙂

So it’s now the third week of the Love & Hearts challenge at Just Some Lines. To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3!
Thought I’d take a meander off the usual love themed route.Hopefully this would put a smile on somebody who needs it’s face 🙂 Just to show how much you care.I’ve coloured the amusing Jessi Hugs a Cat by Just Some Lines with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.Must admit it looks as tho’ she’s enjoying it more than her feline friend is 😉 I dug out these magazine freebie Nitwit Collection papers to go with her and backed everything with kraft card. The tab on the side is cut using X-Cut dies and the scallop border on the bottom of the image has been created with a punch. The sentiment has been die cut and then had the right hand side trimmed off.I added a brad to the remaining hole.A few jute twine threaded wooden buttons have been scattered around the edge of the image to complete the card.

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is 200th Challenge Special – Pick any challenge from the past year.We have the fabulous 2 Cute Ink as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.
I just had to opt for this cute, cute Hula Hoop Hamster as they’re my favourite animals – just don’t tell my dog,OK?! He’s from 2 Cute Ink but I’m afraid he doesn’t seem to have made his way over into the new shop yet, maybe he’s having too much fun playing 😉 The owner is trying hard to transfer all her digital stamps and you can still check out her other adorable creations there 🙂 He’s been coloured with Graph’It Markers including the Blender to create a soft sky-ish effect around him.Yeah,sky-ish ‘cos it’s not a full blown sky!I kept the card fairly simple by adding this fab apple paper and a white punched border to contrast with both that and the kraft base.A little hand stitching in white to create a little interest plus my chosen theme was ‘Haberdashery Items’.I put a little ‘FUN’ into the card using the Whimsy Spell It Out Alphabet Set stamped onto self adhesive cork, then hand trimmed.Even tho’ this is self adhesive I still tend to dollop a little glue on the back,as with any product of this nature,to give it extra staying power!Three sweet little wooden heart buttons have been added higgledy piggledy (there’s a good old fashioned phrase for you!) style along the bottom.

Shame I’m not an elephant then.Ooops just realised I hadn’t posted this.
We’re into the second week of the Hearts & Love challenge at Just Some Lines .To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3!
A simple heart shaped easel card created with Go Kreate dies featuring this adorable Sweet Elephant by Just Some Lines coloured with Copic Ciaos.Went for a red & grey combo – not one I think I’ve ever worked with before? But certainly seems to suit love and elephants!I embossed the grey layers with a pretty floral folder. The hand stamped sentiments have been trimmed down and had Memento ink blended around the edges,as has the main image. The heart shaped stopper has been partly adhered flat, with a double layer of foam tape to lift it at the back.A couple of brads and some ribbon cut from those annoying hanging bits of a recently purchased top complete the card 🙂
Supplies :

Sentiment : Dovecraft Mini Alphabet Stamps (there are quite a few different sets but they don’t seem to have individual names)

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Love is in the Air ♥.We have the fabulous A Day For Daisies as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.
I went with having a try at something new using this fab A Day For Daisies image.I saw this super project for a Pop-Up Box Card at SplitCoast Stampers and thought this image would work well with it – besides I love these sweets!Always have to get myself a pack when I buy some for the kids.Takes me right back to my childhood 🙂 I coloured up Love Hearts with some soft pastel pencils as these sweets have quite a chalky texture.Plus it helped to keep the colours more muted.I chose card and papers in pastel shades to tone in with the image.I printed the sentiments on my ‘puter then die cut them. Two of the buttons were adhered to strips of acetate to give a little bounce and dimension along with an extra one added to the bottom sentiment. This was a lot of fun to make and dead simple too!Well,it had to be – it was me doing it after all 😉

It’s the first week of the month long challenge at Just Some Lines and the theme is Hearts & Love ♥Can’t believe we’re in to February already!!To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3!
This image is inspired by a photo taken by the lovely Chriss of her handsome boy Louie and his little puppy play date girlfriend Rue.Aren’t they just the sweetest!Drawn of course by the talented Jehanne .You can find Dog Love 1 at Just Some Lines. It comes with this very fitting sentiment too 🙂 I’ve coloured them with Polychromos Pencils blended out with a paper stump dipped in low odour oils thinners. The red dots of Liquid Pearls mark where the original drawn in ones are.I then added some extra white ones on a whim – ‘cos I’m like that 😉 The hearts have been given a coating of 3D Crystal Lacquer.I bought these fabulous papers at the beginning of last month but,in true style, have only just broken the pack open!Along with them I’ve added a heart from the coordinating Die-Cut Notelets and a couple of buttons from the Assorted Buttons pack. The metal disc is from the Charms pack and I just had to add this fantastic ribbon also from the same collection!
