How cute is Patches Puppy – Surprize!Surprize! by Crafty Sentiments Designs?Decided to do a little texture colouring on this sweet pup with my Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.These lovely papers are Dovecraft  Garden Party which I must confess despite buying them,and some beautiful embellishments from the same collection,about two years ago I have only used once before – shocking 😮 Thought I’d go for a bit of a celebratory theme and hand cut a banner as part of the layering.Feeling the need to use part of the coordinating stash I cut a couple of short lengths of ribbon and looped them in to tabs.The sentiment,stamped onto card,has had the same treatment.I’ve doubled up the Blossoms and adhered a gem to the centre.All done 🙂

Show me the way to Amaryllis

Here I’ve taken the chance to make a Christmas card featuring a Bildmalarna stamp.Sadly these cute little beauties are no longer available but I’ve managed to seek a few out here and there 🙂 This is Mimosa – Amaryllis and she’s been coloured with Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils after being stamped onto Neenah Desert Storm card.Some Frantage has been scattered around the edges.She’s been layered up onto some Forever Friends Christmas Kraft Notes papers.The die cut chevron pieces have actually been snipped in half to make them stretch across the width of the card and as the gap is behind the image nobody will ever know…except I’ve just told you 😉 A stamped sentiment has been added along with a die cut poinsettia…well I don’t have an amaryllis but it’s in keeping with the flower theme!

Dies to Die For still have some of these stamps left in their Retirement Sale.Unfortunately not his one – I think I snapped the last one up!No connection to the company,just a happy customer 🙂

**I’m late posting this as I had no internet yesterday – again!Big thumbs down to Talk Talk 😦 **

For my little friend Acorn Hugs by Sami Stamps I’ve used my Polychromos pencils to colour him up giving him a furry effect and texture to the acorn.Blending solution and a paper stump have been applied to give the cup and background a smoother appearance.White Soufflé pen has been added for the highlights and,although it doesn’t show in the pic,3D Crystal Lacquer coats his eyes,nose and acorn.Quite a simplistic design using dies,paper distresser,jute twine and wooden embellishments along with these fabulous papers in Autumnal hues.

Sparkling Angel

This is the beautiful,if a little daring,Angel Nevaeh by KennyK Stamps.After printing her onto Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and changing her outline to brown in Microsoft Word she was coloured in a mix of Polychromos,for the skintones,and Spectrum Noir Pencils for the rest.A paper stump dipped in Spectrum Noir Blending Solution was used for smoother effect on her skin.I don’t actually dip the stumps directly into the bottle.I have a teeny jam pot with a piece of the sponge part of a kitchen scourer trimmed to fit inside.That way you don’t get too much on the stump nor does it suck up and waste the solution also.The rest was direct pencil blending.Disappointingly I couldn’t find my normal white Gelly Roll pen so had to opt for my Soufflé pen instead.Oh well, at least she is bright eyed and has a Hollywood smile 😉 You may just about be able to pick out the touches of glitter on her coronet of flowers,wings and dotted onto some of the berries on the wreath on the sentiment.It’s a shame the glittered areas on this pretty paper haven’t shown up…A die cut stitched holly strip adorned with sequins and a length of crochet lace have been used to decorate the card.

As You Like It Challenge : Favourite Papers – Well…so many to choose from…but these are my favourite Christmas papers altho’ I do love First Edition in general.They are more like a thin cardstock than paper so good quality,coordinate beautifully throughout each pad and you get a variety of speciality finishes as in glittered,foiled,UV spot and fabric textured depending on the pad.What more could I ask for? 🙂

Have a de-light-ful Father’s Day!

Sharing yet another Guest Designer project for Imagine That!Digis by Kris! at their Creative Playground Challenge.The theme this month is Tic-Tac-Toe and it runs from  June 4th – July 1st.Stop on by the blog to check out all the wonderful inspiration there!

 

I’ve followed the middle vertical line Sentiment,Patterned Paper and Twine to create my card.Lighthouse by Imagine That!Digis by Kris  is not only fantastic for Father’s Day but any occasion that calls for a male themed card.After printing out the black and white outline version of the image I coloured it using Koh-I-Noor Gioconda Soft Pastel Pencils for a soft ,hazy Summer day feel.Sprayed with fixative afterwards,of course!I chose Sweet Pastels digi papers to go with it as I thought the clouds and striped paper would continue the appearance of a warm,sunny day on the British coast…Yes,we do have them sometimes 😉 Scraps of the stripy paper were adhered to the epoxy button stickers to make good use of them.The sentiment is one of several included in the set.All finished with jute twine to tie in (unintentional pun!) with the kraft card base.

Shaking off the rain clouds

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Isobel – Thinking of Spring looks like she’s deep in a daydream here 🙂 She’s a beautiful New Release at Crafty Sentiments Designs.She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao & Sketch Markers then fussy cut.I decided to make a bit of a stylised scenic card and had the idea of adding a cloud shaker element.It was a bit fiddly as this die cuts a frame of the cloud and I had to line everything up!It was a process that needed thing about,that’s for sure – or maybe it’s just me 😉 But I did get there in the end 😀 I placed the die cut floral piece in the centre and added the ‘grassy’ hillocks (careful!) across the bottom.The carefully planned out sky strip was then added across the top.I chose the sequins partly because they tie in with the colours of the image and papers but also they reminded me of little raindrops waiting to fall from the clouds.As Isobel appears to be so deep in thought I added the sentiment to reflect that feeling 🙂

Having a Splashing Time on Hochanda ;)

     

I have had the honour of making a couple of samples for Suzette from Crafty Sentiments Designs for the Hochanda shows at 11 am and 3 pm on the 5th June.

For my first card I’ve coloured up Splashing with Polychromos Pencils on kraft card.The puddle and splashes have been painted over with Iridescent Medium,a few touches of white gel pen and 3D Crystal Lacquer have been added too!The pics show my Kick Stand Card folded flat,open and a close up of the stamp.

Splashing has been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers this time.Some more white gel pen to add a little shine to the pup’s nose along with some glittery ripples in the puddle.This time I’ve made a Shaped Tent Fold card by only die cutting up to the fold then embossing the rest using a stitch effect die.

I think by using different mediums and colours it shows the versatility of this darling,fun stamp 🙂

Shakin’ Owl Over!

Here’s my second Guest Designer card for Imagine That!Digis by Kris! at their Creative Playground Challenge for this month.The theme is Time for a Sketch and it runs from May 7th – June 3rd.Stop on by the blog to check out all the wonderful inspiration there!

This time I’ve followed the sketch as it is.As Birthday Bash KD Kit by Imagine That!Digis by Kris is so much fun I thought I’d carry on that flavour by adding a shaker element- not just any old shaker element,a bingo card one at that!Once I’d prepared it I filled it with lovely,shiny sequins 🙂 I printed the cute pre-coloured owl also from the set,fussy cut and added 3D Crystal Lacquer to eyes to make them even more googly!I layered the sentiment digitally onto the brad using Word and coated that with 3D Crystal Lacquer also (even if the camera has failed to pick it up).The chevron paper was selected from the kit to match my little owl friend.I hand cut three banner strips and added brads to them just for a little extra touch.The band across the top was embossed to create interest.It was a real joy working with this set 🙂

Way to go Farmer John!

Here’s another Guest Designer card for Imagine That!Digis by Kris! at their Creative Playground Challenge.The theme this month is Time for a Sketch and it runs from May 7th – June 3rd.Stop on by the blog to check out all the wonderful inspiration there!

I’ve based my card,featuring Farmer John by Imagine That!Digis by Kris,on the sketch giving it a ¼ turn anticlockwise.He’s been coloured up with Copic Ciao Markers and has been teamed with backing paper is from Birthday Bash KD Kit,also available from Imagine That!Digis by Kris.I ran a strip of hessian/burlap ribbon down the card and added three hand cut self adhesive wood sheet arrows.Finally I place a computer generated greeting behind a metal frame.So that’s one Father’s Day card already done in preparation 🙂

You’ve been (gift) tagged!

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Tag You’re It!Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

I’ve used the darling Bringing Gifts by Crafty Sentiments Designs and coloured her up with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.For the fur trim on her Santa Suit I’ve added texture with a white Soufflé pen.She’s been cut out with a tag die and some button ribbon from the same collection as the  papers has been looped through.The background paper and ric rac style strips have cut using stitched dies.A die cut sentiment has been placed in the top left hand corner at a jaunty angle with a flat backed pearl ‘dotting’ the ‘i’.To finish the wooden parcel has been coloured using the same ones on the package she is holding.Well,that’s another Christmas card ready for this year 🙂
