Shell is hosting the Willow Sketchie Challenge this week and here’s her fabby sketch :

The theme is Make Your Own Backing Papers. You can choose the sketch or theme.Or even both! You could be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend at Willow Designs too!Don’t forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.
I started with the background on my card.I used an old stamp I”ve had for a few years that I bought in a set when I first discovered Willow Designs.Unfortunately they’ve been discontinued.I stamped directly onto the card blank and coloured them with Polychromos pencils blended with oils thinners.I chose warm oranges and yellows to go with all the lovely sunny weather we’re getting at the moment.I then decided to colour a Winnie image from the Winnie Owl digital stamp collection from Willow Designs by using the same method. The strip of Whitewash card has been embossed and sanded. The sentiment is from the the same set as the background flower and the button centres on the words have been stamped again, coloured with the pencils, blended, cut out and layered. It doesn’t show in the pic but they’ve been coated in 3D Lacquer. These cute little die cut flower swirls have been added for some extra detail.I have moved one of these slightly on the sketch as it didn’t look right in the original place 😉

At Craft Your Passion this week the theme of the challenge is For Baby with optional stitching. We have two fab sponsors – Patties Creations and Scrapbook Unique.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
For my card I’ve used the sweet Little Boy Sailor Suit from Patties Creations and coloured with ProMarkers.I’ve traced over the hanger using a silver gel pen.Now I’m not the World’s greatest stitcher but I thought I’d give it a whirl!I punched the edges of two papers with an EK Success punch that created a row of holes along the wavy edge and carefully back stitched.I pricked holes around the edge of the oval and again used back stitch.I pleated the paper along the bottom and made a pleated rosette too.To the centre of this I added a giant brad stamped with the sentiment.I finished the card with a die cut corner.

You could be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend at Willow Designs too!Don’t forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.
For my card I’ve used Garden Weekly Digital Stamp from Willow Designs and coloured Walter with ProMarkers. The hearts on the wallpaper have been coloured green for a leafy feel.I chose some muted papers that I thought would go with the gardening theme and the reverse of some Papermania Kraft card. The face is quite dark whereas this side has a more natural fibrous texture. To keep in with this I distressed all the edges. To finish the card I added some buttons threaded with paper twine. This is now the fourth Father’s Day card I’ve made.Yippee!I’m on a roll.

We have a colour challenge at Craft Your Passion this week :

So we want to see shades of green and purple on your cards/projects.We have the fab Some Odd Girl as our sponsor too!Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
For my card I’ve used the adorable Patches ‘n Braids,a Belle’s ‘n Whistles stamp by the talented Elisabeth Bell.I got her on Sale at Bunny Zoe’s Crafts. She’s been coloured with a mix of Copic Sketch and Ciao Markers.I’ve created a halo of blue around the image to give the impression of sky and softened the line where I finished colouring the grass with Distress Inks.I’m not confident on colouring skies and after I’ve spent the time getting the image more or less how I like it I don’t wanna mess the whole thing up!I chose this selection of pretty papers only to find I have run very short on purple card!Eeek! What do I do!So after panicking like crazy it finally hit me – Distress Ink!I’d found some very pale lilac card colour tinted it with 2 purple shades.I really like the effect as it was textured card I used. Although I had green card to match I took some very pale green card and inked that as well to give consistency.I got to play with my new banner die too 😀 I even made my own two tone twine (try saying that 3 times fast!) to thread through them but boy that was a fiddle.Often I struggle to make detailed/layered cards without covering everything up so I’m quite pleased ho this turned out. I know a lot of people associate pastel colours with Spring but I just think these lush greens and purples sum it up for me.The fresh grass growing, the buds on the trees sprouting and my favourite blue and purple pansies bursting into bloom!
Supplies :

For my card I’ve used Vintage Auto from Doodle Pantry. You get so much in this amazing set.As well as 2 versions of the car, with and without suitcases in front, you get loads of sentiments,2 suitcase images plus 3 black and white outline papers.I coloured the car (without suitcases) and suitcases with Polychromos pencils and blended with low odour oils thinners using a paper stump.I applied Distress Inks around the edges.I printed one of the papers from the set onto kraft, the panel behind the car.I also applied Distress Inks to the sentiment that’s tucked behind the image.I just had to use another piece of these scrummy Papermania Capsule Collection papers. All layers have been roughed up using a distressing tool and Distress Inks blended around the edges .To finish some matching Capsule Polka Mini Buttons that have been threaded and a length of hairy string (love this stuff!) recycled from a clothing price tag have been added.Well that’s a third Father’s Day card completed! This time it’s for my FIL.Haven’t quite made up my mind whether the words apply to him or the car – think I’ll let him decide 😉
