At Digi Doodle Shop’s Best the challenge is Anything Goes.Play along to be in for the chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate to spend at Digi Doodle Shop! You could even be in the running to join us as GDT for a month.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT’s gorgeous work while you’re there.
Why not take advantage of the last few days of this months offers. There are lots of beautiful digi stamps to choose from.
I’ve used The End from Digi Doodle Shop for my card. There are so many uses for this but thought it would make a great leaving card.I’ve printed the image directly onto a kraft card base. The sentiment is one I computer generated and I made the template for this on MyVerse Editor Plus so I could print it all in one. This is something I’m exploring more and really getting into.I’ve coloured with Gioconda Soft Pastel Pencils,my new favourite toys. This is what I had in mind when I bought these but this is the first time I used them like this. After blending a little of the colour over the grass and bunny I went back and used them to create more texture. While I was waiting for the fixative to dry I punched out a border and added some natural raffia, for a rustic feel, and topped this with a Prima flower with a button centre.I tied a very fine piece of raffia, which I managed to peel away, through this.

It’s all about Glitter and Glitz at Digi Doodle Shop’s Best this week.Check out the challenge blog for full details on how to play and be in for the chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate for Digi Doodle Shop.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT’s fabulous creations. With the special offers this month in store now would be a great time to stock up on some beautiful images. There are quite a few new releases too.
I’ve used the gorgeous Fairy & Daisy from Digi Doodle Shop. She’s been coloured with Gioconda Soft Pastel Pencils blended using cotton buds for a softer finish.I only applied colour to the inner parts of her wings before blending out to give a more delicate feel to them. After allowing the fixative to dry I sprinkled Crystal Glamour Dust over her wings, the edges of the flower and underside of the leaves.I cut her out using decoupage scissors, curled the edges slightly to give dimension, then popped her on using Pinflair Glue Gel.I wanted it to look as if the daisy had sprouted there as part of the paper. The paper and chipboard piece are from this months Cardmaking and Papercraft Country Diary freebie. They both had a good coating of Crafter’s Companion Gold Spray and Sparkle as have the red brads.I think I went a little OTT with it but if you can’t go mad with the glitter on a fairy card when can you?!!I finshed with some gorgeous, shimmery organza ribbon and some sparkly gems.

Flowers in Bloom is the challenge at AiFactory Challenges this week. You have until Wednesday 27 th April 11.59 to upload your project.Stop by the challenge site to check out full details on how to play and what you could win.Don’t forget to take a look at the wonderful DT creations while you’re there!

For my card I’ve used several images from the Cute little baby in lady bug clothes clipart graphics from AiFactory. On the ladybird, the dotty ‘shell’ and eyes on the baby I’ve used Glossy Accents to give the appearance of real ladybirds. Here’s a closer view :

The floral spray is printed directly onto the base card using My Verse Editor Plus CD-Rom from Crafty Ideas by Kaz.This is really made for creating inserts but as I’m totally useless at making templates I’ve started using this when I’ve wanted to print something straight onto the base.I was going to add a small piece of DP or embossed card but once I’d cut and laid everything out I decided it looked better without. I’ve used 2 sizes of flat backed pearls to add to the centres of the flower trio.
I remember as a young child getting my parents to recite the rhyme over and over again and then repeating it everytime I saw a ladybird in the garden. Now we have loads of ladybirds enjoying the sunshine in our garden my kids have started saying it too!

… and other colours.
I love Spring!It’s a great reminder that Summer’s on it’s way.Yay!
The papers and images are all from Funky Hand. The tree is a digi image from the Dreams Come True CD-Rom.The blossoms on the tree are actually a flower image that I cut away from the stems.I did glitter the centres but it doesn’t show in the pic and did my usual and forgot to take a close up (duh). They have both been coloured with my new ‘toys’ – a set of Gioconda Pastel Pencils.Having used most colouring mediums on images over the years I just had an overwhelming desire to try something new!And guess what I love ’em.This is actually the third time I’ve used them since they arrived on Monday but I can’t show the other two yet.I applied quite vibrant shades and gently blended them with some cheapy cotton buds – the kind you wouldn’t want near any part of your body.I didn’t smudge them too much on the tree trunk as I wanted to keep some of the texture.I also grounded the tree by using the cotton bud I’d used on the leaves and lightly smudged in the sky.I like the way the fixative I sprayed them with enhanced the colours further. The swirly floral paper is from the CD and the piece with the larger flowers is a freebie.I’ve used some of my fave embellishments too.A lovely strip of lilac raffia lace layered with some knotted grossgrain ribbon and buttons threaded with some ribbon cut from those really annoying pieces they sew in tops to keep them on the hanger.Still I suppose if they didn’t I wouldn’t be able to save them for my crafty projects.Mind you can you believe I bought a top this colour? – I can!

We’d like to see your projects with Stripes this week at Digi Doodle Shop’s Best. It’s also a special week as our new DT members will be sharing their fabulous first creations too.Pop along to the challenge blog for all the info on how to play along and be in for the chance of winning a $10 Gift Certificate to spend at Digi Doodle Shop. With the specials going on this month now would be a great time to stock up on some beautiful images.
For my card I’ve used T Bird.A great image for those difficult men(young and old) in our lives! Now,I was originally going to colour this with ProMarkers so had printed it onto smooth white card. Then just like that I changed my mind and used Distress Inks.Normally I would print on watercolour paper for this technique but I thought I’d give it a go anyway.Well I was lucky ‘cos they worked like a dream and there wasn’t any pilling like you sometimes get when you add water into the equation.Phew!I got away with it!I wouldn’t recommend it though as cardstock can be so unpredictable.I added dimension and shine with some Glossy Accents on the windscreen and headlights. Here’s a closer view :

The background paper is so fitting as it has a map printed onto it.As well as my patterned paper stripes I added a panel with some embossed ones too.I cut the car out the front to give the appearance of it zooming out of the piece of card.
This card is for my Nephew who has been very poorly lately. He was admitted to hospital after collapsing at home a few weeks ago. They decided he had internal bleeding but didn’t have the right equipment to find where it was and the staff had to admit they’d never had to scan someone so young. So after a week of being pumped full of blood and made very comfortable they managed to move him to the John Radcliffe Hospital. He had to be admitted to the ward and was booked in to have a camera take a look.He had to wait 3 days to have this done.If he had been an Out Patient he would’ve had to wait 2-3 weeks!!And they want to make more cuts to the NHS?!!Anyway they found an ulcer was the cause of all the problems.Still he is now on medication and is on the road to recovery.Thankfully.
Supplies :

We are looking for Party Animals at AiFactory Challenges this week!So any Birthday projects featuring animals are acceptable. You have until Wednesday 20th April 11.59 to upload your project.Stop by the challenge site to check out full details on how to play anwhat you could win.Don’t forget to take a look at the wonderful DT creations while you’re there!
N.B. The store has recently had an overhaul and it takes time to put all the images back up.Please be patient the owner is doing all she can.
For my card I’ve used 2 inch Circle Cupcakes from AiFactory along with one of the owls that were featured here.I resized the cupcake set by 50% and cropped one of the owls from the set and resized that.As there are 12 cakes in the set I decided to set them around the owl like a clock face.I then added it to an easel card.I found these gorgeous pink papers amongst my hoard of paper pads to match the owl.I also went girly so I can give this to my daughter for her birthday later in the year.I printed the sentiment out myself.I just love using these cliparts the colours are so vibrant and really pack a punch! They’re versatile too as they could be used as cupcake topers, labels for party bags or even to decorate party favours.

I was so lucky to get to play with this adorable pair. They’re Marley & Charlie Cheese available from Ellephantastic.I’ve coloured the little cuties with Promarkers.I decided to make my first double twisted easel card as I thought it would be quite fitting for the challenge. It was suprisingly easy too.Of course once I’d made the stand up elements I made to make something to prop them up with.Because I’d used yellow in keeping with the cheese and gave it a Spring feel what better than daisies!Plus I used two layers of ribbon. So as you can see there are quite a few twos on my card!!
