We have a sketch for you at Craft Your Passion.Plus we the fabulous Delicious Doodles and The Charm Barn as our sponsor. So head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
Here’s the sketch :

For my card I’ve used the beautiful Steampunk Fairy from Delicious Doodles and coloured her with ProMarkers and her jewellery with a glitter pen.I used some Ultra Fine Nibs for the more detailed areas.I’ve made her a fIame-haired beauty to lift the brown.I distressed around her with ink leaving a glow of white around her.The backing paper I chose from my coveted Old World Stack as I thought it would go well with her. She’s honored – I don’t give this away freely!!I dry embossed a panel with cogs. Then die cut some more cogs and a bookplate and heat embossed these using a couple of thin layers of powder, sprinkling a lighter shade as I went to give a pitted, old metal feel rather than the glossy, smooth finish you usually get. A plain cog has been added behind her. Some ‘hardware’ has been added in the form of screw top brads (love these!),chain and a couple of charms, darkened with ProMarker.
*This is my first attempt at this style and my own interpretation of it.I had a lot of fun and creative time making this.Any die-hard Steampunkers out there please be kind if I haven’t captured the whole essence of it!*

I’ve used the cute and fun Who’s Bad? from Digi Doodle Shop. They’ve been printed onto watercolour card and painted with AquaMarkers. This is my very first attempt.Even though I’ve bought a lot of pens recently I couldn’t resist buying these at a whopping 60% off.Think I’m gonna like my new toys! The inverted scallop border was created using the same punch used on the corners but without the guide. The bow is actually faux. After wrapping the ribbon around the brown card I bound a section with some thread then took a loop of some more and also wound some thread round the centre.I’ve topped it with a kind of flower made using the scraps where I punched the inverted corners.I folded them in half and wet glued them to a small circle of brown card, another scrap.I was then able to position them as I liked. A Chocolate Pearl was adhered in the centre.
Supplies :

Here’s the inside to show the rest of the words :

It’s kinda plain to add a greeting but I used the same colours/papers and placed the other part of the sentiment in the same place too.

Now I’m actually in South Devon and I’m hoping that my scheduling has worked.Anyway on to my project.I’ve made a Box in a Bag using Neh Neh Neh from The Pixie Cottage. The image has been coloured with ProMarkers and the background with the new FlexMarkers that I managed to secure in a special preview show on Create and Craft.I’ve had a little dabble and love ’em.(You’ll see another project featuring them soon)Altho’ the ones I got are very pretty I’m a bit limited with the colours and I feel a new addiction collection coming on!Back to the bag…I’ve made it from some double sided paper that I bought ‘cos I liked it then decided once I got it home I wasn’t sure how I was going to use it!I think it works great here tho’.The dark red card I chose are scraps left over from a card I made. The sun shaped eyelet I’ve had for years and the ribbon is from a scaps bag I bought at a local sewing shop.I chose this image as our dog really ‘loves’ all the neighbours cats and they know she’s on her lead and can’t get them so they taunt her something terrible.I just knew my family would be amused by this. And they were!

Don’t forget the special offer this month at the store. The more you buy the more you save!Great way to stock up on your fave digi stamps,eh?
I’ve used the pensive Fairy & Mushrooms from Digi Doodle Shop and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers. Now I have to admit I coloured the fairy and musrooms first then decided to put the sky in afterwards.I was nervous about messing the whole thing up so I practiced on a piece of scrap and was pretty pleased how it turned out.So what was the first thing I did on the real thing?Picked the wrong pen!!Not only that but it kind of made any other colour I used with it split rather than blend 😦 So out came the trusty Blender pen to save the day.Not on this occasion it didn’t.I even tried softening it with white pastel pencil to no avail.I was happy with everything in the foreground and really didn’t want to start over again so hopefully what’s going on there will detract from my botch job.Mind you the sky was actually looking like that at the time.Any way onto a happier note I love this Nestie I used and am pleased how the card in general turned out.I decided to fold the base in half rather than layer everything one on top of the other and like the look.I even got to play with my new flower punch and leaf die.Yay!

At Willow Sketchie Challenge this week it’s Kate’s turn to present us with a fabby sketch. And here it is :

Pop along to the challenge blog to join the fun!You don’t need to use a Willow Designs image but we’d love it if you did!
This week the DT got to play with the rather scrummy I Love Chocolate from Willow Designs .You get a pre-coloured image and an outline one for you to colour to your heart’s content.Speaking of which I whipped out my trusty ProMarkers for this one and added some clear glaze pen to the chocolate and her boots.
And for an extra touch I iced the top of the chocolate with some Liquid Pearls.Very much like the delicious ‘posh’ chocolates you get. Mind you I haven’t met a choccy I didn’t like !
Here’ a close up :

Shiny shoes or kinky boots?!
I’ve wanted to use the lovely chipboard shapes for a while and grabbed my chance along with some free matching papers from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.I used the last tiny scrap of this gingham ribbon that I couldn’t bear to throw out to adorn the tag sentiment. Not sure if the words apply to the recipient or the chocolate!lol.

The challenge this week at Craft Your Passion is Under the Sea/Your Favorite Season. We have the fabulous Simply Betty Stamps as our sponsor.Hop on over to the challenge blog for full details on how to play along.Don’t forget to take a look at DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
The DT were very lucky indeed to be give some new release images to play with. Here I’ve used the cute Frosty Merkid on my card. He’s one of several adorable Merkids from Simply Betty Stamps.I wanted to try something different so I coloured with Copics (recently won on eBay) on kraft card.I really like how it turned out. Then it hit me!There are quite a lot of areas that should be white!I found my white gel pen handy for the smaller areas but as it’s on it’s last legs I didn’t think it could handle the snowman. So out came the Liquid Pearls. As well as looking pretty it added some texture too.I finished the whole thing off with some Baker’s Twine and die cut snowflakes with some more Liquid Pearls added to the centre.
Now as I’m trying desperately NOT to leave it to the last postal date to hurridly finish my Christmas cards (oh yes,2 years running!) and just ‘cos these images are just sooo sweet I couldn’t help but make another card :

This time I’ve used some Polar White Flower Soft on the trims on her hat and clothing plus a ribbon I ruffled.I’ve added a die cut swirl and button flower threaded with Baker’s Twine. She’s called Tiki Merkid.
Supplies :
Images : Frosty Merkid & Tiki Merkid from Simply Betty Stamps
