That’s the way the Cookie crumbles!

csdtnr6thapril16

This is my card I’ve made for Day 2 of the New Releases showcase at Crafty Sentiments Designs Inspirational Blog featuring Cookie – Let’s Eat and will be available at Crafty Sentiments Designs shop soon.

April New Release

Make sure you pay the inspirational blog a visit and check out all the wonderful creations the DT are sharing!

After stamping Cookie -Let’s Eat by Crafty Sentiments Designs onto kraft card I coloured this cutie up with Polychromos pencils to get a furry effect.Once the bowl had been coloured some 3D Crystal Lacquer has been applied for shine an dimension. His eyes and nose have been given the same treatment.I’ve teamed the image with some Authentique Celebrate papers. All corners on the layering have been punched. The sentiment has been stamped and each circle die cut.A trio of button topped die cut flowers decorate the bottom right hand corner and a length of ribbon stretched across the centre of the card. The little white ‘buckle’ to brighten the card is recycled from an old bra strap!Don’t worry it had been washed first 😛 LOL

As soon as I saw this adorable Birthday Pug by 2 Cute Ink I knew I had to play with him!My DD1 has a real thing for these little dogs since she saw then being dressed up in a series of ads on the TV a little while back so I thought I’d jump in and make a card for her birthday in October!!He’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers.Couldn’t resist glossing up his eyes and nose – and the camera has actually picked it up 🙂 The sentiment isn’t actually on the original image,it’s been stamped on.I chose a mix of colourful papers to go with him.An arch shaped die was used to cut and layer him up.I’ve  used my favourite corner rounder punch on all the backing pieces. The rosette/flower thing is made up of punched, folded circles adhered to another punched circle. Some baker’s twine and a button have been added to finish.

Gift of the Gab :)

jsldt5thapril

It’s the beginning of a another new challenge at Just Some Lines. This month we’re looking forward to seeing your Think Spring creations. To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3 🙂

Here’s the beautiful Gab – Just Gab by Just Some Lines .Doesn’t she look like she’s enjoying Spring?!  I thought I’d brush up (pun intended!) on my watercolouring skills – or lack of them 😉 The purpose of the exercise was supposed to be practising with Distress Inks but as I pulled the boxes out the cupboard I found my AquaMarkers. To think I’d actually forgotten I had them!So out they came to play. The beauty of these is when it came to the fine detail I just used the pens to fill it in.No worrying about going over the lines or bleeding into what’s already painted.I did actually blend out a little on her headband and ribbons with out having to change to a smaller brush 🙂 Not really sure how it turned out but Gab’s that pretty I’m sure it doesn’t matter 😉 For the card I just layered up these gorgeous papers that I try not use too much, cutting and embossing a frame  for her,and adding some piercing details to the papers. The sentiment on the stamped and die cut button seemed pretty apt 🙂 Some baker’s twine and buttons have been used to decorate.

Supplies :

Mediums : Letraset Aquamarkers,Memento Grape Jelly Dew Drop Ink (I did add some Diamond Stickles but it seem virtually invisible in the pic)

Krafty Love!

jsldt4thjan 001

*This has been posted late.I’ve had terrible internet connection probs.Sorry to Jenn and my Teamies.*

We’re into a new month,as well as a New Year,at Just Some Lines so that also means a new challenge! This month we are looking for your Favourite Colour Combo 🙂 To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3!

I’ve gone for a red, white & kraft combo using the beautiful Emo Romantic by Just Some Lines, coloured with Copic Ciao Markers.Love ♥ this combo – not just for Christmas!Teamed her with some magazine freebie papers layered onto white. The kraft matt for the image, which has a punched edge, and tag have been cut from another card blank to match the base perfectly.I wanted to punch some hearts into the image piece but found that all the shapes would have come out the wrong way round because of the way you had to insert the card 😦 After digging around I rediscovered a box of corner punches I purchased from a catalogue some years ago and I think this one works wonderfully!Simply added a glittery red button threaded with some jute twine -just adore this stuff 😀 – to finish.

Supplies :

Image : Emo Romantic by Just Some Lines

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Buttons Galore! We have the fabulous QKR Stampede and The Robin’s Nest as our sponsors too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

How cute is this little Stuffed Reindeer by QKR Stampede?!He’s been printed directly onto the kraft card blank and coloured with Copic Ciao Markers, trying to retain the tartan detail.Just love how the colours turn out on these card bases 🙂 I’ve added some real buttons, threaded with jute twine,to his eyes and trousers.I had hoped to find a tiny pom pom for his nose amongst the kids crafting supplies but the only ones there were far too big.Never mind.A couple of scrap strips have been trimmed with decorative edged scissors to create a kind of ric rac look.In the top corner I’ve used some Epiphany epoxy button stickers stuck onto more scrap papers.I found these half price in my local craft warehouse and figured that rather than buy the special punch to go with them it would be easy enough to trim around them once adhered to paper.I then used a pokey tool to pierce the holes ready for threading 😀 Worked a treat…Yay!A leftover holly die cut is just peeking out from beneath them. Finally I stamped a sentiment,a freebie from one of last year’s Christmas magazines,in the top right corner.Chosen because he makes me smile 🙂

Supplies :

Image :Stuffed Reindeer by QKR Stampede

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Heavy Metal. We have the fabulous Stamping Dragon and The Robin’s Nest as our sponsors too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

For my card I’ve used the sweet Penny’s Pudding by Stamping Dragon and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers.I then cut her out and added her to the holly embossed piece of kraft card, which has the bottom corners rounded, using foam tape for dimension.I then adhered this to a card blank which I also rounded the bottom corners of.I laid a couple of strips of washi tape across the top.I die cut some holly leaves and topped this with a button threaded with baker’s twine. The sentiment has been stamped in red ink then clear heat embossed. This way you don’t have to worry about stray flecks too much 🙂  A 1″ punch fits this greeting well,so no fiddling about to cut it out.I did ink the edges with the same ink pad to give a better finish as this card has a white core.

For my card I chose the wonderful Bears and Bees digi stamp by Eureka Stamps  and coloured them with Copic Ciao Markers, trying to get a little fuzziness into those bears.I thought this would be a great image to use as this card is for my DS1,who is well known for getting himself into sticky situations,to give to his dear old Dad 🙂 I made a border of hexagons, embossed, sanded then cut from a template and stapled together.I used some fab papers from my stash, more staples and a sentiment made by me on the ‘puter. The finishing touch is a trio of threaded buttons.

Ain’t nobody here but us chickens

jsldt8thjune 001

Just a reminder that the Anything Goes challenge at Just Some Lines  is still open. You could be in the running for a super prize. You need play along with a Just Some Lines image to enter and one random winner will get 4 digi stamps of their choice. It doesn’t stop there tho’ as the Top 3 will get one digi stamp each too! There is a freebie to get you started too or you can choose one from Just Some Lines here.

For my card I’ve used the  adorable Chicken Country by Just Some Lines – not just once but 3times!I opened the PNG image (you get the JPEG version too) in Word, yep you’ve guessed it,3 times and resized it to fit the size of panel I had in mind. It’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers in quite a simple fashion.I also added the sentiment in Word too.The bottom edges of both the image piece and the one it’s layered on to have been punched with my most favourite punch. Before sticking the image panel down I wrapped it with some paper twine and threaded a button on to it .I made a tab using another punch that I like using a lot as well : ) The backing papers and Core’dination card have been sanded and have had the edges roughed up with the Tim Holtz Paper Distresser.I managed to separate the top layer of the cardstock in the top left hand corner and rolled it down a little to add a little extra interest.

A chance to get krafty

cypdt 4thmarch 001

This week at Craft Your Passion the challenge is That is ODD!Add an ODD number of embellishments to your project. We have the fabulous Sweet Stamps as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

For my card I’ve used Find the Silver Lining by Saturated Canary.Just look at that doe-eyed cutie. How could you be cross with her?…And she’s giving you the chance to craft 😉 She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers with white gel pen highlights to add shine to her top lip and the spilt water on the floor.I’ve also whitened the spots on the heart sported on the pocket of her top.I was thinking  how that vase was going to get fixed so strips of washi tape have been added either side of her.Not really sure if you class this stuff as an embellishment, but I did use an odd number of pieces 🙂 This then led to thoughts of other fixing and fasteners hence the addition of the buttons, staples and stitching.I wasn’t too neat with any of those deliberately, trying to make them a little childlike. The sentiment, cut into a tab with one of my fave punches, comes with the image as part of a set.

Supplies :

Image & Sentiment : Find the Silver Lining by Saturated Canary
