The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Autumn Colours.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super surprise prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.
Here’s my interpretation featuring the delightful Primrose – Butterfly Girl by Crafty Sentiments all coloured up with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers. Her wings have also be given a sparkly covering of Glamour Dust 🙂 A few touches of white gel pen have given her eyes and teeth, along with the spots on the fly agaric style mushroom, some extra pop.A couple of dots also create a little shine to her shoes. The lovely papers are First Edition with top one being glittered. They’ve been teamed with some kraft card, wooden embellishments and one of my faves, jute twine, for a rustic feel.I chose some Prima Flowers following the Autumnal colours theme and just had to sneak in a hedgehog 😀 He’s so cute.I bought him a while ago on sale, which adds even more appeal 😉 Being a die I can make as many of these little guys as I like too 😀

This little beauty is Fairy Huntress by Just Some Lines and she’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers. The details on her wings and the bees wings have been picked out with Stickles. For the background I die cut a load of flowers and adhered them in a random fashion, them trimmed around the edges of the card. The sentiment I created on the computer and made into a tab to tuck behind the image. As the flower wasn’t quite the right shade of green that was also coloured with Copics for a more coordinated look.A few gems have been added for some extra sparkle.

I thought I’d go for Red,White & Blue this week. Not just for patriotic cards – I love the crispness of it 🙂 I’ve coloured the main part of the adorable Girl Holding a heart shape balloon by Just Some Lines with Copic Ciao & Sketch Markers. For her balloon I’ve paper pieced it using a beautiful gem effect design from the First Edition Neroli paper pad.I think it gives the effect of a foil balloon 🙂 This pad really caught my eye at my local craft warehouse and it had the added bonus of having a whopping 30% off 😀 I also found these cute ‘n’ quirky alphabet stamps for £1.99 so I just had to use them alongside this gal.I’ve added a length of ribbon,a layered up Prima flower with a pearl center and a couple of pearly heart topped pins to tie it all in.

This month’s challenge at Just Some Lines is 3 or More Embellishments. To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a fantastic digi stamp if you’re picked as part of the Top 3!
For my card I’ve used the delightful Em – Thank you sign by Just Some Lines. You get two versions – 0ne with Thank You in the sign and the other is left blank for your own message.I chose the plain one and stamped a Birthday greeting.I’ve coloured her in with Polychromos pencils and paper pieced her dress from a leftover piece of the background paper,to coordinate her perfectly. The beautiful papers are Teresa Collins Fabrications and I’ve created some bunting with some coordinating chipboard pennants that came with a freebie 6 x 6 version of the papers. I just had to ‘hang’ it using some Jute Twine – love this stuff 🙂 A die cut border and a flower with a brad added to the centre finish everything off nicely.

This is the last week of the Fall/Autumn or Back to School challenge at Just Some Lines.Wow!Can’t believe that’s another month over!To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a fantastic digi stamp if you’re picked as part of the Top 3!
After last week’s cheeky little fairy I thought you might like to see one from a different angle 🙂 This time I’ve used Baby Fairy – Peek-a-boo by Just Some LInes and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers, defining the mushroom spots with white gel pen then coating her wings and the spots with Stickles.I chose these beautiful papers to go with this adorable image. The colours,I think, are more Autumn/Halloween but she’s definitely too cute to spook!!The layout is one modified from an old sketch of mine when I was on Willow Sketchie DT.A few gems ,Prima leaves and a button add the finishing touches. The button is quite glittery IRL but it’s a shame the camera just hasn’t picked this up 😦

For my card I’ve used the totally sweet Cherry Fairy by A Day For Daisies and coloured her with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers, adding some gloss to the cherries. The pretty papers were a freebie from Papercraft Inspirations magazine. After adhering them to the kraft base I hand stitched along the seams and wrapped some lace around both the top and bottom edges. The sentiment was stamped onto some self adhesive fabric paper.I love the translucency it gives allowing a glimpse of the papers beneath.I layered up a paper flower,a jute twine threaded chipboard button and a couple of pearl topped pins to create the embellishment in the corner.

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Happy Birthday. We have the fabulous Birdie Brown as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.
For my card I’ve used a totally adorable image from Birthday Bear set by Birdie Brown, the sentiment is part of it too,and coloured them with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers. To create the kind of ‘fuzzy’ effect on the bear I went over it several times with my pens and covered quite a large area with the lightest colour first. This way when you apply the darker shade, then overlay the light colour when blending it bleaches it out a little and you get a mottled appearance. You have to be aware that when you layer up the ink this way it does deepen the colours despite having heard the contrary! The pretty papers are freebies from the centre pages of a past copy of Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.I’ve got a ton of back copies with these in and I’m trying to make it a mission to use them up.I’ve teamed them up with some coordinating cardstock.I’ve created some fancy borders and corners with a punch and a die.A couple of layered Prima Flowers and a handful of gems have been added to embellish.
Supplies :
Image and sentiment : Birthday Bear set from Birdie Brown
Papers & Card : Freebies form Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine,Core’dinations Roy G. Biv 12 x 12 Cardstock Pad

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Hip to be SQUARE (square cards). We have the fabulous Pattie’s Creations as our sponsor.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
For my card I’ve used Pumpkin Watering Can & Mums from Pattie’s Creations.Such a beautiful image and perfect for this time of year. The colouring is done with Copic Ciao Markers.I wanted to give this a torn straight from the sketchbook feel so I used my Spellbinders die.I inked the edges while the image was still in the die.I did the same with the sentiment. This was part of a magazine freebie stamp set.Originally it did have a sun to the right of the word You but I masked that off so it would fit in the die cut better. The papers are also a freebie. The ribbon was from my DS2’s Birthday cake from last week 🙂 I’m sure he doesn’t mind me stealing borrowing it 😉 He loves his Mummy 😀 I dug out a Prima flower and leaves from my stash along with the wooden flower button which I stained with Distress Ink before threading.
