The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is everyone’s favourite Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

It seems funny making Christmas cards in the throes of Summer but when you find an image as beautiful as My Gift by Crafty Sentiments Designs it makes you feel the need.Plus the fact it takes time to create each one you really should be prepared!!She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao & Sketch Markers along with a few white gel pen highlights.For the fur on her trims Fluffy Stuff has been used and Polar White Flower Soft,for a different texture,added for snow.I do tend to stick to a basic layout and just mix it up a bit with different papers,card,images and embellishments.It does help with ploughing through with batch making.Designs are also kept simpler these days with the cost of postage!Baker’s Twine and a charm complete the card – I also know these will pass the 5mm mark and not have incur the Large Letter Stamp fee 🙂

How’d you like to be greeted on your birthday by this happy chappy?!Cartoon Happy Hippo Holding a Sign by Ken Benner Designs has been coloured with Spectrum Noir Pencils onto Desert Storm card along with some Soufflé pen highlights.The pencil has also been softened with the Blending  Solution and paper stumps.The sign comes plain on the original digi stamp so I added in a greeting of my own using Word 😉 The image was printed out again onto white cardstock so that it could be paper pieced to allow the wording to be more noticeable.Decided to make the base card from some more of the same cardstock and for matting the papers onto for a coordinated look.Tied some twine between the two sections,threading with a button first.A few dew drops have been scattered across the bubble-like circles on the top piece as I felt it just needed a little extra something 🙂

What a cute couple A Fun Christmas by Crafty Sentiments Designs make 🙂 They’ve been coloured up with Copic Ciao Markers and some lovely texture has been provided with Fluffy Stuff.It makes excellent snow but it’s also great for those furry festive trimmings too.Quite a simple designed card with the embossed panel but a touch of luxury has been added with some sumptuous velvet ribbon.Just love using jingle bells too – no good for posting tho’ 😦 Reserved for hand delivered cards only.These are attached with Baker’s Twine here.Thought the lovely wording was the perfect accompaniment to this darling pair.Think I might give this to my DH but will have to wait and see what he’s getting me for Christmas first…LOL – just kidding 😉

A frogtastic new home!

I just had to play with the most amusing Funny Frog by Sami Stamps 😀 He’s been coloured up with Copic Ciao Markers,including the Blender to create some texture to his frog skin,and to add to the fun he had to have a coating of 3D Crystal Lacquer on his glasses along with a furry moustache,to make it more tactile.I did have to wrack my brains on how to bring the idea to reality.In my stash I had some Polar White Flower Soft but that wasn’t the colour I wanted his ‘tache to be…So I pulled out some Terracotta Posh Impressions Rainbow Ink that I’ve had for ages and added a couple of drops,stirred with a cocktail stick in a medicine measuring cup!Once it was dry it was stuck into place with some dries clear PVA.Cut a shaped easel for the base and added these papers that I bought quite a few Summer’s ago in a sale.I fussy cut him and plonked him on top of an embossed and die cut piece.The sentiment has been computer generated and cut into a banner shape with some paper twine wrapped around one end.I added some Shimmer Dots that were originally silver to decorate but out came a coordinating Copic Ciao to transform them!This is for my DD1 who has recently move into a new home with a couple of her friends whilst she’s at uni.
