Primrose – Autumn Leaves by Crafty Sentiments Designs is a cutie,isn’t she 🙂 She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers.I chose to layer her up on these pretty papers,including a glittery one,and kraft for an Autumnal feel.Some lovely orange ribbon from my stash has been picked out to compliment her dress . A die cut bunch of leaves arranged behind a crochet flower to emulate those in her hand are the finishing touch.I just love this time of year so this little sweetheart is right up my street 😀

A Basket of Flowers – Easel-y!

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

**I’m late posting this as my internet is still not good 😦 Wish they’d sort it out!!**

I’ve coloured up the sweet Basket of Flowers by Crafty Sentiments Designs with watercolor pencils.I made a pretty shaped easel card to display her on.The stopper is made by die cutting the sentiment four times out of watercolour card and layering it all together,adhering with wet glue.The ribbon threaded border is a Martha Stewart punch.Some flowers were die cut with flat backed pearls added to the centres and the leaf sprays hand cut from a piece of coordinating paper.

Oh Mia,oh my

Here’s the very chic Mia by Sasayaki Glitter.I decided to ‘dress’ her by paper piecing her clothing including her bag,shoes and hairbow which have also been glittered.The spots on her top have been painted with gesso as I still ,rather annoyingly,can’t find my white gel pen anywhere!Her hair and skin have been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers.A little shading has been given to her clothing using these pens too.The background papers are glittery too 🙂 Some satin ribbon and pearl brads complete the card.

Madison ‘blings’ on the love

Just look at the love going on between Madison N Toby by Oddball Art.They’ve been coloured up with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.I die cut an 8 x 8 card blank to create the shape then covered and layered with these pretty papers.I finally managed to find my bow die that I’d been disappointed to have mislaid for so long.So it’s been put in it’s rightful place in my overflowing DJ CD flight case 🙂 I cut and added the strip to the right of the image to give the impression that it’s wrapped and tied.The sentiment has been die cut and matted onto a piece of paper to match the paper ribbon and blinged up all the way around.A large gem from the same set has been placed atop of the bow.I have so many gems…well all manner of embellishments,really…that I really need to make more use of them.Anyway this shall be another card for my DD2’s birthday in October.She loves our dog so much and our girl loves her right back.Actually she loves everybody – even complete strangers!If she can’t accost people in the street for a cuddle she lurks in the window to greet them with a smile and a wag of her tail.Yes,she does actually smile 🙂 Altho’ people who don’t know her find her quite scary.There are some folks I don’t explain her actions to i.e. double glazing and other salespeople that turn up uninvited on my doorstep!!I let them think she’s a ferocious beast – even tho’ she’s the daftest,softest,friendliest,most beautiful girl 😀

Here she is relaxing in her favourite seat in the house.It’s also my DH’s so they have to jostle for pole position.I bet you can tell who wins! :

G(u)esso’s Having 20 Winks?

The gorgeous 20 Winks by Rick St. Dennis has been printed onto Desert Storm cardstock and,as I haven’t used them in a while,coloured with soft pastel pencils.Plus I’d never used them on this surface before.A few white gel pen highlights have been added to just the fairy and the caterpillar’s eyes to brighten them as the pastels were too faint.Altho’ they lay down quite chalky and dusty and also cover the lines a little,once they are set with the fixative spray they have more depth and vibrancy.I quite like how they’ve turned out on this cardstock too 🙂 Rest of the card is quiet simple…just a die cut base with freebie paper and a woodgrain embossed panel of sanded back Whitewash card,pInk ribbons and gems to match her dress and a sentiment.The gesso has been daubed and smeared about a bit.First time I’ve used it!So much fun but think I ended up covered in more than the card 😉 Drove the dog crazy too – she seemed to love the smell of it – weird?! It was pretty handy to edge the hessian/burlap die cut flowers as it held them together.Usually dab a little PVA dries clear glue around them.This way it ties everything in 🙂

Pretty Lazy in Spring

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Spring Colours.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Here’s the pretty Lazy Days by Crafty Sentiments Designs.She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers then fussy cut.I created a frame and gave her a ribbon covered border to perch on.It also allows the delightful paper to show through.The embossing at the bottom has been sanded to enhance the pattern and I hand pierced it to create a little more interest.The flowers and leaves are die cut from felt.A few gems have been scattered around to bling it up.

The power of flowers

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Flower Power.We have the fabulous A Day For Daisies as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration,they’ve done a wonderful job.

I chose to play with this little sweetie,Flowers in my Garden,by A Day For Daisies 🙂 She’s been water coloured with AquaMarkers and I stamped the sentiment to the top right corner.I die cut the scalloped square base.When making shaped cards I always cut and overlay an extra top piece to eliminate the straight edge.That works well especially in this case as I’ve used my Grand Nestabilities to layer everything up for a concentric look.Regular Nesties have been used to cut out the image and a scalloped version to create a pretty frame for her.The papers are Dovecraft Garden Party and the ribbon and flowers are from the same collection.I’ve been umming and ahhing about these for ages…so glad I took the plunge 🙂 The charm is a magazine freebie and the gems are Trimcraft The London Line.As you can see I’ve a bit crazy with the floral theme 😀

A prickly reception?Definitely not!

Oh my goodness!!I’m so excited!I got chosen to join Crafty Sentiments as a GDT!I put my name down in a moment of madness thinking they’d never pick me and here I am with my very first project for them 😀

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments is a nice easy one and everybody’s fave – Anything Goes!Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning the super prize below.Don’t forget to take at some fabulous DT inspiration while you’re there.

So meet the delightful Hedgehog – Hello! by Crafty Sentiments Designs.He’s available as a rubber stamp and here I’ve coloured him in Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.I decided I’d give him a setting and to be honest I can always do with a bit of practice on creating backgrounds 😉 Not sure if it’s the angle of the notebook or the lens,maybe both,but hedgie on the right looks as tho’ he’s been more slugs n’ snails.But rest assured they are definitely following the same diet.

I decided to make a card and notepad set just for something a little different…I chose these papers with a woodsy/countryside feel to them.Then teamed them with some kraft and lifted the reddy pink with coordinating card.There was already a sentiment on the woodgrain piece on the card so I thought I’d utilise that and cut the flowers out again from a second sheet and layered them up,slightly overlapping the bottom corner of the butterfly paper.The ric rac was a little too pale so I toned it in to match with a Copic Ciao Marker.This has been topped with a jute twine threaded button.The same papers were used on the notepad and I made new covers out of kraft.The butterfly paper was turned into a flower,ric rac for leaves and the button added to the centre.

Totally Enchanting

For my card I’ve chosen the beautiful Spring Enchantment  by The Paper Shelter.Personally I think she’s enchanting any time 😀 I’ve printed out the black and white outline version and coloured her using Copic Ciao Markers.You do get a pre-coloured image along with a background but this time I’ve teamed her with some papers I’ve recently bought cos’ I needed to use them.The flowers and swirls are die cuts and the embellishments I picked out from my stash are pearl brads,flat backed pearls and  ribbon.This is a new  purchase too and I’m so glad I got to add that too!

Pearls in Blossom

Isn’t this just the most adorable little thing!!She’s Whimsical Cherry Blossom Sprite  by Aurora Wings and I coloured her with Graph’It Markers.Little spots of Liquid Pearls were added to the stamens.Some freebie paper was used in the background and behind that I tucked a couple of lacy punched borders.Lengths of crochet lace cover the joins 🙂 I bought the fab cherry embossing folder a while back but this is the first time it’s been used and I love it!A chipboard greeting banner and flower that came with the paper pack have been added along with some real pearls – well,flat backed ones at least 😉

My computer still won’t connect to the internet and I’ve really missed being able to download,print and create.Unfortunately when I got my wireless printer a while back I just plugged it into my PC as that was where the printing was to be done.Now,I can only access the internet thru’ my DH’s laptop and whilst I can download I can’t print from it.Being ‘clever’ thought I could make my printer wireless and connect it to the laptop.Not so 😦 Appears that can only be done with my computer thru’ the internet….Grrrr!Yeah,I know I could probs set up the printer with the cable to the laptop BUT it sits on my dining table when in use and has to cleared away at meal times.If I wanted it on the computer desk I would have to pack up my PC and put it away – don’t want to do that!!Sooooo…then an idea hits me (doesn’t happen too often but it’s a goody when it does)…I bought myself a reasonably priced USB Flash Drive/Memory Stick (cheapest from Argos)…whatever you want to call them 😉 Now I can just transfer what I like to my PC and print – genius!It’s so easy even a computer simpleton like myself can use it – yay! And the moral of the story is if anyone else finds themselves in a predicament like this then this may be the solution 🙂
