Choc full of love :)

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Me and You is a fantastic New Release at Crafty Sentiments.Just perfect for Valentine’s or even any romantic occasion 🙂 It will be available from Saturday 6th February along with some other exciting  new stamps! All coloured up with Copic Ciao Markers.I created some white chocolate piping on the scrummy chocs and coated them in 3D Crystal Lacquer.Doesn’t show in the pic but I gave her shoes the patent leather look with it too.I made a hanging heart box to fill with my one of my DH’s fave chocolate bars (he only has two!Strange person!).Here’s a little glimpse of the cute heart brads I used to attach the ribbon :

The ribbon is recycled from some wrapped around a pair of PJ’s I gave my DD2 for Christmas last year.

All finished off with a,quite appropriate, sentiment I think and a few flat backed pearls.

It’s Day 2 of the sneak peeks of the June New Releases at Crafty Sentiments Designs. There are 5 new rubber stamps from the Ginger Snaps Collection available from the 23rd June!

Drop on by the Crafty Sentiments Designs Inspirations Blog to check out some amazing creations 🙂

This is Little Polly – I Love Cupcakes and isn’t she just the sweetest?!She’s been watercoloured with pencils for a softer look to go with the pastel colours on the card. The background piece is Whitewash card embossed with one of my favourite folders then sanded back to reveal some of the colour. The edges have been pierced too.A panel of cute cupcake paper which has had the top and bottom punched plus an aperture cut has been placed over Little Polly to frame her.The sentiments have been cut from another sheet of paper from the same collection and I ‘made’ the epoxy sticker buttons by placing them over yet another piece of paper with – yes, you’ve guessed it! – buttons printed on it and cutting them out, including pierced holes. The largest one has been threded with some Baker’s Twine – how apt 😀

Here’s a close up of the frosting on her cupcake decorated by applying Frosted Lace Stickles.See what I did there 😉

Madison ‘blings’ on the love

At Craft Your Passion the challenges are Always Anything Goes!We have the fabulous Oddball Art as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

Just look at the love going on between Madison N Toby by Oddball Art.They’ve been coloured up with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.I die cut an 8 x 8 card blank to create the shape then covered and layered with these pretty papers.I finally managed to find my bow die that I’d been disappointed to have mislaid for so long.So it’s been put in it’s rightful place in my overflowing DJ CD flight case 🙂 I cut and added the strip to the right of the image to give the impression that it’s wrapped and tied. The sentiment has been die cut and matted onto a piece of paper to match the paper ribbon and blinged up all the way around.A large gem from the same set has been placed atop of the bow.I have so many gems…well all manner of embellishments, really…that I really need to make more use of them.Anyway this shall be another card for my DD2’s birthday in October. She loves our dog so much and our girl loves her right back.Actually she loves everybody – even complete strangers! If she can’t accost people in the street for a cuddle she lurks in the window to greet them with a smile and a wag of her tail.Yes,she does actually smile 🙂 Altho’ people who don’t know her find her quite scary. There are some folks I don’t explain her actions to i.e. double glazing and other salespeople that turn up uninvited on my doorstep!!I let them think she’s a ferocious beast – even tho’ she’s the daftest, softest, friendliest, most beautiful girl 😀

Here she is relaxing in her favourite seat in the house. It’s also my DH’s so they have to jostle for pole position.I bet you can tell who wins! :

Reddy for Roses ;)

** Please click on the pic for a clearer view 🙂 **

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Include a Heart.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

So with Valentine’s Day looming closer I thought I’d pick (no pun intended – well, maybe a little) the delightful Roses Are Red by Crafty Sentiments Designs .Coloured up with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers. The young lady has been given a little more blush to her cheeks than I usually add as I felt she was a bit coy at this romantic gesture. Now if it were me I think I would pass out with sheer shock if my DH presented me with a red rose!I tried not to make this too girly as this will actually be for him.Altho’ I say that…a flowery patterned paper magically appeared along with a rose embossed border and some ribbon – but at least it’s navy blue 😛 As I’m just a teensy bit fussy I die cut the card base from a regular 8 x 8 card blank then overlaid it with a matching die cut piece of textured card so that I got the whole shape.Personally I just don’t like those missed/straight bits when doing it myself.Because I grabbed the sentiment from a set that was to hand and as I felt it was on the small side I added a heart shaped brad underneath.By my own admission this is a lazy way to add a design feature but it works 😉

Fairy Wishes

** Please click on the pic for a clearer view 🙂 **

At Craft Your Passion the challenges are Always Anything Goes!We have the fabulous Aurora Wings as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

Here’s the beautiful Fairy Sitting on a Toadstool  by Aurora Wings .But then all Mitzi’s images are beautiful 😉 So…I bought some Crafter’s Companion Spectrum Noir Pencils way before Christmas and in my usual style they’ve been sat in a box – until now that is!To be fair this is the first card I’ve made in a long while as my computer took a turn for the worse and crashed.Feeling quite pleased that with some help from my thirteen-year-old son we managed to set it back to factory settings and got it running again I really wasn’t prepared for it to go and die completely within a week 😦 So now I’m left with the headache of finding someone reputable to fix it…For now I’ve got loan of DH’s laptop.Wish he’d cleaned it before he let me borrow it tho’ !Urgh!

Anyway back to the card…I printed her out on Crafter’s Companion Neenah Desert Storm Card bought specifically for the purpose of trying out my new pencils.I did buy a ton of it (well maybe not quite) as my local craft warehouse had a whopping 30% off!The fairy and toadstools were coloured just using the pencils to merge the different colour tones together. For the grass, foliage and sky I was a bit more scribbly and blended it out with the Blending Soloution and a large paper stump.Have to say I was impressed at how the sky blended out as I was a bit worried the scratchy strokes would still show but, nah, they’re really not there! 😛 So I was quite pleased at my first proper go with these but,as always, there’s room for improvement!

If you or someone you know would love to be part of the DT at Craft Your Passion Challenges please take a look here  🙂

Christmas Kisses

I’m guesting for the Just Some Lines Facebook Challenge again 🙂 To enter the December Tag It! Challenge you need to create a tag.The other stipulation is that you must use a Just Some Lines image. But with so many beauties in the store it wouldn’t be difficult to choose! My card, along with other wonderful inspiration and extra details on how to enter, can be found on the Just Some Lines Blog too.

This is Sweet Amber – Mistletoe by Just Some Lines. She’s been printed onto kraft card and coloured with Polychromos Pencils. The tag and layers have been created with a Go Kreate die set as the tag dies I have weren’t really big enough but I think this shape works well. The patterned paper is a freebie,The sentiment was stamped and cut with one of my tag die sets.A strip of natural hessian ribbon has been placed behind Amber to give some texture. To keep with the rustic element some jute twine has been threaded through the top of the tag along with some ribbon that has been recycled from last years Christmas cake 🙂
