Here I’ve used the beautiful Ella in the Clouds from AiFactory.Unfortunately the store is closed at the moment for some maintenence.I’m sure it won’t too long before it’s back…but there is a cute freebie on the challenge blog to get you started.I’ve coloured her using Promarkers to match the papers. These came to mind straight away as the perfect choice.I’ve also tried something new here.Colourful hair!I’m usually boring and opt for normal colours.I was lucky to have just enough of this rainbow organza ribbon left to tie the bow.I’ve used my new EK Success Hawaiian Flower Large Edger Punch for the first time and I love it!The brads I’ve placed in the centres of the flowers were orginally more of a lilac pink but I changed them using Magenta Promarker.

The challenge at Craft Your Passion this week is Grin and Bear It.We have the fabulous the fabulous Purple Panda Designs as our sponsor.Stop by for the full details and don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT’s wonderful work.
The DT were lucky to choose from a selection of bear images from Purple Panda Designs.I chose the cute Bearey Springy to work with. He’s been coloured with Promarkers. This is my first attempt at making a swing card.It was actually surprisingly easy.I managed to follow a tutorial I found on You Tube while balancing my paper trimmer on my lap whilst measuring and cutting !! The card I used has a lovely pearlescent finish as well as being textured.I mounted a frame, stamped with a greeting, from the same paper pack on the reverse side of the image.

These cards are a lot of fun to make.

Ribbons and Bows is the theme at Digi Doodle Shop’s Best this week. For full details on how you could win a $10 Gift Certificate to spend at Digi Doodle Shop head on over to the challenge site. You could also be in the running to join us as a GDT.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT’s work while you’re there!
Here I’ve used Fascination from Digi Doodle Shop as the focal point of my card.So adorable! He’s been coloured with Promarkers and Copic Atyou Spicas to add some sparkle to the butterfly.Glossy Accents have been applied to his eye and nose. The base card is a twisted easel cut from Grand Nestabilities Labels 1 and covered in patterned cardstock cut from the same die.The edges have been inked with Distress Ink to cover any white – it looked better that way!As the purple is quite a dusky one I livened it up with some bright pink card. The wide ribbon is actually recycled from my old pyjamas and was originally pale pink.I used Magenta Promarker to colour it to match. The only thing with this is that the ribbon can go a little stiff. It was actually a bonus here as satin ribbon can be a slippery little so and so.So no danger of the bows slipping undone here! I die cut a couple of double layered daisies to emulate the ones in the image and made the tab the sentiment is mounted on by cutting down another Labels 1 die.I finished with two different sizes of brad for the flower centres on the stamped and die cut ones.
This reminds me of the daisies I planted in my tubs a few years ago.Even though they eventually died off several have sprung up through my front lawn.I love this time of year when they start appearing again.Trouble is DH keeps threatening to get the mower out.Off with their heads!!
Supplies :

The challenge theme this week at AiFactory Challenges is Under the Weather. You don’t need a AIFactory image to join in but there are some freebies if you’d like one of their images. You have until Wednesday 30th March 11:59 EST to upload your project.Stop by the challenge site to check out full details.Don’t forget to take a look at the wonderful DT creations while you’re there!

Here I’ve used Little Doctor Medical Cliparts.I’ve devised a card incoporating a tissue holder.I took inspiration from Splitcoaststampers Treat Box Card by Melanie Schulenberg .The meausurement for the box part wasn’t big enough for what I needed so I altered the sizing to suit. This was a major achievement for me.I REALLY don’t do meausuring!I even have trouble when the instructions are clearly laid out in front of me.I also flipped it so the card opens like a normal one.As well as the Nurse I printed out a plaster and stamped the greeting on it.It’s layered onto a real piece of bandage!
Here’s the inside :

I made the insert in Word and changed the font in Word Art.I thought this one one went rather well with the cliparts as it has the same shadowing underneath.Mind you with the horrendous cold I’ve picked up I may need to keep this one for myself 😉
I had so much fun making this I didn’t stop there. This next project is far simpler.
I took a Christmas tin,one of many I have stashed in my cupboard, for this one :

I resized, printed and die cut the image and layered it onto another die cut piece.I edged them in Metallic Silver Promarker :

Because the rest of the lid and tin had no Christmas images and I quite liked the stripes I just added some grossgrain ribbon and some more cliparts resized to fit :

In case you hadn’t guessed it’s for keeping plasters in!
Supplies :
Images : Little Doctor Medical Cliparts from AiFactory
Sentiment : Personal Impressions Mixed Sentiments clear stamp set
Mediums : Jet Black Archival Ink Pad,Metallic Silver Promarker
Papers & Card : DP Making Memories, 12 x 12 white cardstock from stash

The DT were lucky enough to work with some images from Meljen’s Designs. For my card I’ve used Swirly Daisy Pot printed out onto kraft card and coloured with Polychromos pencils, blended out using a paper stump dipped in low odour oils thinners. This is such a versatile image. There are lots occasions this could be used for.And with all the sunnier, more Springlike weather we’ve been experiencing the real daisies have been springing up like…er…well…daisies!I’ve cut it out and layered it onto an embossed piece of card that has been cut with a Nestie.I’ve kept my cardstock to more earthy tones but picked out the turquoise in the paper with some waxed thread.I even got to play with my new buttons dies by Joy!Crafts. When I first saw these I didn’t know which set to go for so I sort of ended up buying both!

We’d love to see your Things with Wings at AiFactory Challenges this week..You don’t need a AIFactory image to join in but there are some freebies if you’d like one of their images. You have until Wednesday 23rd March 11:59 EST to upload your project.Stop by the challenge site to check out full details.Don’t forget to take a look at the wonderful DT creations while you’re there!
I’ve used 2 inch Cute Owls Circle Tags – Cupcake Toppers – Favor Bag Tags.As soon as I saw this sheet of adorable little owls the idea to make this card sprung into my head. I shrunk the panel down to fit it onto my card whole.I then printed a second sheet in the same size and punched the cheeky little chappie using a 1″ circle punch.I wanted to make him stand out and as I have issues with printer ink running when using Glossy Accents I decided to clear emboss him instead. It was a bit fiddly but to stop him being blown away I gently held him in place with a pokey tool.I used 3 layers of powder to get a nice, smooth, even coating.Once cooled I mounted him onto some foam tape before putting him in place.I also added emphasis by doodling a frame around him.

Here’s a closer view.I tilted the lamp to catch the shine.
I wanted to create the card base with the wording printed directly on it.I’m pretty useless at creating my own templates and trying to position things correctly so I used My Verse Editor Plus from Crafty Ideas by Kaz.Although it seems to have been superceded by the Ultimate Insert Designer. Both of these have been made for the purpose of inserts but they make great templates for card bases too – why didn’t I think of it before! I just doodled a frame onto to it too.I layered up the image onto some cardstock adding a scalloped border for interest.I finished it off with a raffia bow.Perfect to give a rustic edge.
Supplies :

It’s time for a sketch at Craft Your Passion this week.We also have Digi’s By Phooka as our sponsor. If ultra cute’s your thing then you really need to check them out!!Please go to our challenge blog fro details on how to play and take a look at the fabulous DT and GDT creations while your there.
Here’s the sketch :

I’ve used the extremely cute Strawberry Cake from the Cakes set by Digi’s By Phooka. What could be better than a cake with yummy strawberries? One with a smiley face!I’ve used Promarkers to colour and topped it off with some Frosted Lace Stickles icing. It’s not as sparkly as other Stickles but gives a nice shimmer which my camera has decided to pick up for once.Apart from making good icing I’m pretty sure it’s going to come in handy for snow too.As soon as I saw this image I just knew which paper I was going to use.Originally I was going to use red card and embellishments but came across this lime coloured card in my collection and found the square brads that I’d forgotten I’d bought, whilst rummaging.I’m so glad I did as it gives a great contrast.I was a little stuck as to what to replace the butterflies with on the sketch.I had hoped to find some strawberry buttons but had no luck. Then it hit me….why not use the strawberries from the cake!It only cost me a little card and ink too. That’s what I like!Plus it had the added bonus of embellishments to match perfectly.I gave the stawbs some ‘shine’ with a white gel pen because I wasn’t patient enough to wait for Glossy Accents to dry and nor did I want to drag my stamping stuff out to clear emboss – I’d made enough mess as it was!!I think this turned out pretty cute and I hope you do too.
Supplies :

The theme at Digi Doodle Shop’s Best is Pearls this week.Play along for the chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate to spend at Digi Doodle Shop or join us as a GDT.Full details are on the challenge blog and don’t forget to check out the DT and GDT’s fabulous work while you’re there.
I’ve used the beautiful Spring Gathering for my card. She’s been printed onto watercolour paper and watercoloured with Distress Inks.I thought it would be in keeping with the gentleness of this figure.I’ve kept to quite a simple layout too to make sure she stays the focus of attention.I’ve added a couple of punched butterflies to reflect those in the paper and used my newly acquired pearl embellishments. These may be better suited for flower centres but you know what it’s like when you get new stuff!!Anyway last time I used this punch I did a row of pearls down the middle so something different was called for.I stamped the sentiment in brown as I felt being solid black would’ve been overbearing.I used my new 1″ circle punch and it’s perfect for this set of sentiments as there are quite a few circle ones.I like the way it leaves a tiny border.Mind you I’ve wanted one for ages and you wouldn’t believe how difficult it was to find one!
