This week at Craft Your Passion the theme is Get Well Soon.We have the fabulous Stamp Fairy as our sponsor too. Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
For my card I’ve used the rather cute but poorly Lenny Get Well Soon by Stamp Fairy. He’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers and given a glossy nose (even tho’ the camera has failed to pick it up).I’ve used some Papermania Chelsea Green papers and some coordinating Daisy Chains (the dark green self adhesive borders).I die cut some stars to match the ones swirling around poor Lenny’s head, cutting two into frames and tying them with paper raffia.I stamped the sentiment on one of the patterned paper stars and lifted the small ones with foam tape. The image has been raised on this too.

At Craft Your Passion this week we want you to Alter It (you need to alter an item using any medium and crafty tools you have in your craft room). We have the fabulous The Robin’s Nest as our sponsor too. Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
A while ago I bought some lovely Coffee and Cream Woodware buttons but as they came in cellophane bag they kept escaping into the bottom of my craft tote making it difficult to find them.So this seemed the ideal opportunity to make something specia lto keep them in – after all they deserve it!I took a Christmas tin that one of my kids had a small gift of sweets in a few years ago (yes I’m a hoarder!) :

I used some gorgeous papers and beautiful stamps that came free with the January issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine (as a subscriber I get my issue early). First I stamped a piece of spotty paper with the measuring tape stamp and wrapped it around the tin, leaving a gap at the top as the lid does fit very tightly!Next I covered the side and top of the lid with some light coloured kraft card edged with Coffee Archival Ink.Then I die cut a lacy circle from the flip side of the spotty paper, this rather pretty floral design, again edged with Archival ink.A length of this natural looking ric rac that I found at my local craft warehouse was adhered around the edge of the lid.As soon as I saw it I had to have it as it brought back fond memories from my childhood.I remember my Mum making summer dresses and edging them with this stuff 🙂 Unfortunately I never inherited her needlework skills and altho’ she tried I was given up on as a hopeless case..lol.After stamping the thread card I wound some embroidery floss around it.I found this fab pink topped pin in my stash and added a needle that drives me crazy as the eye is far too small to thread anything through it!I filed the ends down so they are blunt tho’ 😉 I’m clumsy enough! The flowers were cut up from some daisy chain lace that has been lurking for far too long and topped with some pearls to match the pin.The two plastic buttons are the Woodware ones and the wooden heart one was another escapee taking refuge in the bottom of my tote so I decided to throw that in for good measure too.All have been threaded with the same floss as before. Here are some more pics :

Being put to good use 😀 Luckily the tin was pale blue so it doesn’t look too bad with the lid off 😉 As I don’t have a craft room I wanted to create something that wouldn’t look out of place sat on the dresser in my bedroom.I hope I’ve achieved that.
Supplies :
Papers & Stamps : Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine freebie
Card : Light coloured kraft from my stash
Medium : Coffee Archival Ink
Adhesives : Ultra sticky DST for sticking papers and card to tin,Cosmic Shimmer Acrylic Glue for adhering embellishment
Tools : X-Cut guillotine,Nellie Snellen Multi Frame Dies Flower Circles,Big Shot,Decoupage scissors,Basic Grey Precision File Set
To embellish : Woodware Coffee and Cream Buttons,We R Memory Keepers Brown Floss,Wooden Heart button,Flat backed Pearls,Daisy chain lace,Ric rac all from stash,Needle and Pin from my sewing drawer

I decided to create this Maria’s Treat Box after finding a great tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers. So easy to make and put together 🙂 I’ve used Emo in a Gift Box by Just Some Lines and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers, adding some white gel pen highlights.Isn’t she sweet peeping out of the box like that!

Instead of giving this away I’m going to sit it on my mantelpiece filled with sweet treats for my family.Hence using papers from the same set as my So Tweet for Christmas project.I’ve also added a kraft card and Distress Crackle Paint snowflake to match it too and a punched kraft border dabbed with more paint.I wrapped some lovely stitched ribbon around it too to pick up the dots on the paper along with the highlights on the image. The sentiment can be found in the Christmas Word Art section at Just Some Lines.I hope my family like this extra little treat I have in store for them!

For my card I’ve used Quick Card Panel 1 and a backing paper from the Polly Pickleberry CD-rom both by Willow Designs.I’ve teamed them with with some pretty pearlescent card.Rather than a punched border I decided to use a bunting die.Yet another seldom used ‘must have’.I found these cute ‘n’ quirky clear flower buttons at my local craft warehouse and just had to use ’em!I also added some Stickles to the flower centres on the panel.

Holiday Creations ABC (Anything But a Card ) is the theme at Just Some Lines this week. There are some changes to the challenge too. From now on only projects made with Just Some Lines images can be entered. But the good news is there will be a freebie image posted on the blog for the duration of the challenge for you to use!Just pop on over to Just Some Lines to find out all the details. While you’re there don’t forget to get inspired by the DT’s creations.
I’ve made a mini wreath decoration featuring the totally tweet Christmas Robin by Just Some Lines .This little fella,a fabulous freebie, has been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers.I started with a ring of red card made using two Nestabilities Circles dies,in the same way as making a frame.A piece of cord was stapled to the back of this.I die cut two different types of snowflakes and painted one set completely with Distress Crackle Paint and just dabbing it onto the ends of the other so the kraft card shows.I punched some flowers from some Christmas papers, spritzed them, then crumpled them up.They were layered up,added to wreath then topped with buttons.A couple of jingle bells were tied to the hanger using the same cord.I fussy cut the Robin then nestled him amongst the flowers and after cutting the sentiment into a banner style the card was curved before being glued into place. This was such a lovely project to make and apart form waiting for the paint to dry (keep reminding myself that patience is a virtue!) it came together quite easily 🙂
Supplies :

Mediums : Copic Ciao Markers,Picket Fence Distress Crackle Paint

At Willow Sketchie Challenge it’s the lovely Kelly’a turn to host and here is her fabby sketch :

The them is Quick and Easy Makes.Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and/or theme. You could be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend at Willow Designs too!As well as a winner (chosen randomly) there will be a hand picked Top 3 and they will receive a super cute badge for their blog.Don’t forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.
For my card I’ve chosen the theme only, even tho’ the sketch is brilliant,so I could incorporate this fab Quick Card Panel by Willow Designs into it.This one is Panel 3 and has been printed onto some lovely hammer card I found in my stash.I did add touches of a Copic Atyou Spica pen but it doesn’t want to show in the photo 😦 I notched the corners at the top and added some metallic brads to go with the fab jingle bells. Not only are they perfect for a Christmas theme they suit this cute kitty well too.I tied them to the ribbon with some thread type stuff I bought from the jewelry making section at my local craft warehouse. It actually has a plastic core so it holds it’s shape really well.I slotted another, off cut, folded piece of ribbon behind to give a holly like appearance.Ta-dah!There you have it one quick and easy make!
Supplies :

Medium : Clear Copic Atyou Spica pen (even tho’ it doesn’t show)

The challenge this week at Craft Your Passion is Stitching – Real or Faux.Plus you can use any medium you like and it doesn’t have to be paper. We have the fabulous Bunny Zoe’s Crafts and Sweet Stamps.com as our sponsors too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
This time I’ve gone way out of my comfort zone! Now,to say I’m really not known for my needlework skills is a putting it mildly…but once I saw this cute craft project in a UK based charity mag,Candis,I subscribe to I really wanted to push myself to the limit. This is a Cath Kidston design but I have put my own spin on it and thrown in some of my own ideas.I’ve changed the colours of the felt and added buttons for his eyes and nose (to make him more Rudolph like). The bow on the original was also made from felt but as I love gingham and it’s soooo Christmassy I just had to make him a ribbon one to match his red nose!I also stitched a jingly bell (yes,it really does jingle!) onto that as an extra detail. This makes it go perfectly with my red and gold themed tree too!I did enjoy making this and not having much experience or skill it was a great learning curve and made me think on how best to things.I’d definitely like to make more of these 😀

For my card I’ve used the very pretty Emo Snowflake by Just Some Lines and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers and added some Glamour Dust festive sparkle.I’ve used some Dovecraft papers left over from last year along with some lovely pearlecent cardstock, also scraps from last Christmas’s makes. Now, normally I’d go for green holly with red berries but to go with the cool flavour of the card I cut them all out in white.I did think to coat the berries in red Liquid Pearls but decided it might take the ateention away from the image.Besides I quite like the shimmery halo effect around her.The sentiment,a freebie, was stamped directly onto the background paper and glitzed up with more glitter.

It’s the lovely Anne-Marie’s turn to host at Willow Sketchie Challenge this week and here’s her fabby sketch :

The theme is Vintage.Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and/or theme.
For my card I’ve used one of the brilliant Quick Card Panels by Willow Designs .These are just great for those moments in our lives when we need to get a card finished in a flash. And so perfect for giving you a helping hand with your Christmas cards! The beauty of these, being digital,is that you can resize them to suit.Of course you can use them as they are, pretty them up or just have a good old play. For my card I’ve used Panel 2 and printed it onto kraft.I’ve also done the same with a backing paper from the Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD-rom.Keeping with the vintage theme I’ve applied Distress Inks to the edges and roughed them up with a Paper Distresser.Altho’ the panels have a contemporary feel it shows the versatility and how you can adapt them to fit a certain style depending on what you do with them!I spritzed my glass mat with some water and mopped up the inks left on there with some vintage seam binding berfore adding it to my card.I dug out a little used embossing folder for some texture, not sure why – it’s lovely 🙂 To finish I tied a button with some natural waxed thread which grunged up a little with some more ink.
Supplies :

Backing paper : From Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD-rom by Willow Designs
Card : Green Bazzill Basics,Papermania Kraftstax 8×8
