S’now friends like good friends

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

I thought I’d dress Snowman and friends by Crafty Sentiments Designs up in some bright pastel shades using Copic Ciao Markers to break away from the traditional colours I usually go for. Some Frosted Lace Stickles has been added beneath him for a sparkly, snowy finish. The background strip has been stamped in Versamark and heat embossed using white detail powder.Pleased at how crisp it came out as they were magazine freebie stamps. The panel was then wrapped with some fluffy fibres I came across in my long lost stash whilst I was sorting out.The sentiment was part of the freebies stamps and the same technique applied. The bottom of the card has been dry embossed with another magazine freebie folder.Yet another card for next Christmas 😀

As sweet as a cupcake :)

It’s Day 2 of the sneak peeks of the June New Releases at Crafty Sentiments Designs. There are 5 new rubber stamps from the Ginger Snaps Collection available from the 23rd June!

Drop on by the Crafty Sentiments Designs Inspirations Blog to check out some amazing creations 🙂

This is Little Polly – I Love Cupcakes and isn’t she just the sweetest?!She’s been watercoloured with pencils for a softer look to go with the pastel colours on the card. The background piece is Whitewash card embossed with one of my favourite folders then sanded back to reveal some of the colour. The edges have been pierced too.A panel of cute cupcake paper which has had the top and bottom punched plus an aperture cut has been placed over Little Polly to frame her.The sentiments have been cut from another sheet of paper from the same collection and I ‘made’ the epoxy sticker buttons by placing them over yet another piece of paper with – yes, you’ve guessed it! – buttons printed on it and cutting them out, including pierced holes. The largest one has been threded with some Baker’s Twine – how apt 😀

Here’s a close up of the frosting on her cupcake decorated by applying Frosted Lace Stickles.See what I did there 😉

A Fair-y Amount of Candy ;)

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Bingo!(check blog for board). We have the fabulous Aurora Wings as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

Here’s the sweet and adorable Candy Corn Fairy with Hat and Wand by Aurora Wings. She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers and of course,as she’s a fairy, the obligatory glitter in the form of Stickles this time. After seeing a hexagonal box made on a Candy Punch Box Board, which I don’t have,I wondered if there would be a way round that?!With much fiddling with dimensions to get the size I wanted and a long reach heart punch I managed it.I stuffed it with some yummy Halloween sweets 🙂 Even tho’ we give away goodies to the Trick or Treater’s that come to our door I usually make a little something extra for my own kids.Altho’ given the angle the photo has been taken at the tag with the fairy on looks very much larger IRL it isn’t!But I don’t mind as it showcases this lil’ beauty off a treat – or shouild that be Trick or Treat! 😀

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Where There’s Hope.We have the fabulous A Day For Daisies as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

I’ve coloured up the most gorgeous Wings by A Day For Daisies with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers. Some Diamond Stickles have been added to her eyelid and just a smattering over her wings as I didn’t want to coat them completely.I kept the rest of the card simple to allow the image to shine 🙂 The card base has been made from kraft and just one layer of torn and distressed paper covers that.I found these beautiful words on the internet and retyped them in Word then once trimmed edged in black to compliment the frame around the image.

Here’s a clearer view (think my face detector thingy is switched on on my camera) :

A length of vintage seam binding has been tied in a bow around still letting the image be seen through.A feather has been tucked in behind with a couple of pearl topped pins pushed through the bow.As the ends were exposed I adhered two clear beads to save any accidents – mostly for my own safety, methinks 😉

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is On the Move/Transport.We have the fabulous QKR Stampede and The Robin’s Nest as our sponsors too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

Here we have the fantastic Rocket Dog -Digi Stamp by  QKR Stampede  reaching for the stars. He’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers with dots of silver gel pen on the rivets on both the rocket and his collar. The stars have been coated with Frosted Lace Stickles for some subtle sparkle rather than all out girly glitz. Of course, apart from loving dogs (especially my girl ) they are my favourite make of boots so for me he was the ultimate choice 🙂 Also this will be for my DS2’s Birthday in September.Gotta stay ahead!!Plus he’s pretty enamoured with dogs too – don’t know where he’s got that from 😉 Glad I found these papers. They’re just great for masculine projects and I like the colour palette too. There’s a nifty woodgrain pattern and a couple of florals thrown in as well 🙂 Some die cut stars wound with silver cord and some eyelets to go with the rivet theme have been added to embellish.

Bee Lucky!

It’s the fourth week of the St.Patrick’s Day/Good Luck challenge at  Just Some Lines. To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3.As usual there is a freebie on the challenge site if you wish to use it :)

This little beauty is Fairy Huntress by Just Some Lines  and she’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers. The details on her wings and the bees wings have been picked out with Stickles. For the background I die cut a load of flowers and adhered them in a random fashion, them trimmed around the edges of the card. The sentiment I created on the computer and made into a tab to tuck behind the image. As the flower wasn’t quite the right shade of green that was also coloured with Copics for a more coordinated look.A few gems have been added for some extra sparkle.

Paper-peaced Angel

The Christmas/Winter month long challenge at Just Some Lines is still going on.To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3!

I’ve printed this beautiful, serene Christmas Angel by Just Some Lines   directly onto the kraft card base using a verse editor for inserts as the template. The top half of her dress, face, hands, wings and hair have been coloured with Graph’It Markers.I just love how they’ve turned out 🙂 So pleased with the results. For the skirt I’ve paper pieced with some pretty Christmas DP and overlayed the floaty part with vellum. The star after being coloured first with a Graph’It Maker was glitzed up with some Stickles as was her halo.I’ve added a couple of strips of glittery self adhesive film, one die cut, topped with some wooden star buttons. They’ve been coated with more Stickles and threaded with paper twine. The sentiment has been stamped in the bottom left corner.

Everything’s coming up (cabbage) roses

jsldt2ndnov 001

This month’s challenge at Just Some Lines is 3 or More Embellishments. To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a fantastic digi stamp if you’re picked as part of the Top 3!

For my card I’ve used the delightful Cabbage Rose Fairy by Just Some Lines .I’ve coloured her with my first attempt using my new Graph’It Markers.I also purchased some brush nibs for her hair.I quite enjoyed using these pens but think I need a little more practice.I like the bullet nibs as they are fine and fairly firm but the real bonus is you can remove the chisel end and add a brush nib if you want that extra bit of detail. It’s quite magical too watching the ink seep into them…LOL.There are some other fun accessories that go with them too – but I’ve yet to play further…They are great pens but I don’t think I would buy too many more as I already own a full set of Ciao’s and ProMarkers. If someone was thinking about starting using alcohol markers or only had a small collection of other makes I could recommend them.I know you can mix different brands but I prefer to stick to the same, whichever I choose to colour an image with…maybe I’m just strange?!  😉 …Back to the card…I picked some pretty papers to go with this gal and remembered I had just bought a new embossing folder that would suit her perfectly. Her wings have been coated with Frosted Lace Stickles for a more subtle shimmer.I dug out some ribbon and self adhesive pearls from my stash to complete the card.

Supplies :

Autumn Splendour

This is the last week of the  Fall/Autumn or Back to School challenge at Just Some Lines.Wow!Can’t  believe that’s another month over!To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image to enter and you could win a fantastic digi stamp if you’re picked as part of the Top 3!

After last week’s cheeky little fairy I thought you might like to see one from a different angle 🙂 This time I’ve used Baby Fairy – Peek-a-boo by Just Some LInes and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers, defining the mushroom spots with white gel pen then coating her wings and the spots with Stickles.I chose these beautiful papers to go with this adorable image. The colours,I think, are more Autumn/Halloween but she’s definitely too cute to spook!!The layout is one modified from an old sketch of mine when I was on Willow Sketchie DT.A few gems ,Prima leaves and a button add the finishing touches. The button is quite glittery IRL but it’s a shame the camera just hasn’t picked this up 😦

Hedgehog Love

dsc11thfeb 001

It’s an exciting day today! It’s the very first Digi Sketch Challenge and the theme this fortnight is ♥ Love is in the Air ♥.We have the super Scrapiness Designs as our sponsor.

Kelly is hosting this time and here is the fabby sketch :

You can follow the sketch, theme or even both.Hope you stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.

For my card I’ve used papers and elements from Mini Kit Oh,My Love! by Scrapiness Designs and layered them up in Word to create an all-in-one topper. All part of the design and not…er…because I was nearly out of ink in my printer and thought I stood a better chance of at least printing one thing you understand 😉 LOL…Anyway I added some Stickles to the heart and the hedgies to create texture, adhered some teeny buttons on top of the bows and went over the sentiment with a clear glaze pen to highlight it.So quick easy that’s me done!Beauty of these type of kits – you can craft any way you please!

I’ve rotated the sketch and followed the theme.
