At Just Some Lines the challenge is Anything Goes this fortnight.Only projects made with Just Some Lines images can be entered. But the good news is there will be a freebie image posted on the blog for the duration of the challenge for you to use!Just pop on over to Just Some Lines to find out all the details. While you’re there don’t forget to get inspired by the DT’s creations.
This will be the last challenge until 7th September as the Design Team are taking a Summer break.
So for my card I was wondering whether or not to follow my recent trend of merging Just Some Lines digi stamps and well,as you can see I couldn’t resist!I’ve taken the Cherry Branch Springtime from Emo Amber Springtime Value Set and hung Bird house -tulips from it.They’ve been coloured with Copic Ciao And Sketch Markers with Liquid Pearls added to the dots.As I wanted the image to remain the focal point I’ve kept the rest of the card quite simple with distressed edges and pearls to match in with the Liquid Pearls.Paper twine has been wrapped around the bottom panel and more has been used to hand stitch the sentiment tab onto the image piece.Ruby Red Liquid Pearls have been used to coat the heart on the sentiment which was a freebie from a past issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.

For my card I’ve used Pure Innocence 012 by Heather Ellis and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers. Her dress has been paper pieced.I built up a little scene using a Crafts Too die. Some of the butterflies have been placed as the y would according to the die, others I’ve used artistic licence 🙂 I die cut the frame and added some wooden embellishments. The toadstool top has had a piece of spotty adhered to the top to make it look like a Fly Argaric Mushroom. The stalk has been coloured with Copics as has the leafy frond.I stamped the sentiment onto one of the clouds to finish.

After having so much fun last week I decided to create another scene in Word, just on a smaller scale this time. After merging together Emo Gardener along with the watering can and heart plants from Emo Layla Gardener 2 by Just Some Lines I coloured them with Copic Sketch and Ciao Markers.I dug out these papers,a past magazine freebie,as I thought they’d go with her perfectly 🙂 I also managed to find some coordinating Bazzill Basics card. The border and sentiment are die cuts from the same set. There were button printed already on it but I covered them with some cute heart buttons I’d saved from an old top I’d thrown out.A little thread has been tied through them.I’ve added an adorable wooden ladybird to finish because I think they look so sweet 😀

At Digi Sketch Challenge we have another new challenge and the theme this fortnight is Christmas in June.We have the super Delicious Doodles as our sponsor.
It’s the lovely Margreet’s turn to host and here’s her fabby sketch :

You can follow the sketch, theme or even both.Hope you stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.
For my card I’ve used the adorable Baby Rudolf by Delicious Doodles and coloured him with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers. And he wouldn’t be Rudolf without his shiny nose would he?So 3D Crystal Lacquer has been applied to that!Because I’ve cut him out from another card blank so that he I was able to colour him on matching kraft card I’ve used a white gel pen on his eyes, nose and the underneath of his tail. His spots have been given more pop with a white Souffle pen. I’ve simply added a couple of strips of paper to a kraft card base. They have been cut using some decorative scissors.A length of ric rac has been added over the reindeer paper and a cute red bell has been tied to that. The sentiment has been stamped onto the card base.I’m pleased how well the pens worked on this particular kraft and as the blanks are reasonably priced I will definitely be making more of these. The added bonus is I don’t have to use too much paper (more for me to stroke!) altho’ for posting purposes I would choose a flatter embellishment.Plus how could I not with this sweet little guy?! 🙂
1 Christmas card down.Many more to go.LOL 😀
Supplies :

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Let’s Play Dress Up.We have the fabulous Stamp Fairy as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.
For my card I’ve used the super cute Toby SpringFairy by Stamp Fairy and coloured him with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers. For an extra special touch I’ve paper pieced his dress and,of course, added some Glamour Dust.Ain’t he pretty?!I decided to create a card with a little white space for a change.I dug out these papers from my stash as I thought the colours would give a fresh,Springlike feel.I used one of my favourite but seldom used punches on the purple layer of card and decorated the centre of each flower with a gem.I layered up 3 different types of ribbon and topped then with a bow.The sentiment has been stamped directly on to the card base and more Glamour Dust has been applied to the stars at either end of the words.

For my card I created this scene,in Word,by mixing and matching various images from Just Some Lines. The sweet little girl is Layla – sitting and she’s perched on Log Not only would this suit some of the other sitting characters it would make a great background piece too.The Tulips and Butterfly are from the Emo Amber Springtime Value Set.Useful as a set on it’s own but great to work with your other Just Some Lines images as well. That’s the beauty of receiving the images in both JPG and PNG files. But the best thing of all is you don’t have to be a computer whiz to do this 🙂 If I can do it anybody can – believe me!LOL You just play until you are happy with everything plus it’s so much fun 😀

For my card I chose the wonderful Bears and Bees digi stamp by Eureka Stamps and coloured them with Copic Ciao Markers, trying to get a little fuzziness into those bears.I thought this would be a great image to use as this card is for my DS1,who is well known for getting himself into sticky situations,to give to his dear old Dad 🙂 I made a border of hexagons, embossed, sanded then cut from a template and stapled together.I used some fab papers from my stash, more staples and a sentiment made by me on the ‘puter. The finishing touch is a trio of threaded buttons.

For my card I’ve used the adorable Chicken Country by Just Some Lines – not just once but 3times!I opened the PNG image (you get the JPEG version too) in Word, yep you’ve guessed it,3 times and resized it to fit the size of panel I had in mind. It’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers in quite a simple fashion.I also added the sentiment in Word too.The bottom edges of both the image piece and the one it’s layered on to have been punched with my most favourite punch. Before sticking the image panel down I wrapped it with some paper twine and threaded a button on to it .I made a tab using another punch that I like using a lot as well : ) The backing papers and Core’dination card have been sanded and have had the edges roughed up with the Tim Holtz Paper Distresser.I managed to separate the top layer of the cardstock in the top left hand corner and rolled it down a little to add a little extra interest.

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Haberdashery Items. We have the fabulous Crafty Sentiments and Wild Rose Studio as our sponsors too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.
For my card I’ve used the adorable Kaye – Thinking of You by Crafty Sentiments and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers.I’ve used a kraft card blank as the base and another for the die cut elements. This has teamed with some very pretty Papermania Vintage Notes papers. These have a lovely linen texture so thought they would be good to go with the theme 🙂 Apart from using various die cuts and punches I’ve layered up a few bits and pieces from the Vintage Notes collection (they came in the Goody Bag when they were first released). The little calendar and pink ticket were cut from a sheet of the paper.I went a teency bit crazy when it came to the sewing related items.I wonder if you can spot them all?!More to point I wonder if I can remember them all? 😉 Well…. there’s stitching(all hand done!),ribbons, lace, buttons, pins, snap fasteners, hook and eye fasteners, the felt for the flowers (yes,I’m counting that) and anything else you may have spotted that I’ve left off my list. Now the safety pin is a bit of a fraud as it’s a plastic embellishment my S-I-L gave me,along with some other stuff for my card making.I added it at the last moment but it does still tie in with the theme 😉

I decided to go with a Father’s Day card. For this I’ve used the delightful Emo Aleks Shepherd by Just Some Lines and coloured him using Copic Ciao Markers.I’ve teamed him with some Forever Friends papers.I’ve added some buttons and faux suede strips.I also threaded some of the strip material through the buttons. That was some mean feat,I can tell you!!So after realising a pokey tool would be useful and choosing some carefully selected words the deed was done! The sentiment was devised by me and printed from the ‘puter. The idea behind this card is that my youngest son loves sheep/lambs ever since discovering that was his sign in the Chinese zodiac. It’s also quite funny that when he was a baby his most favourite bedtime snuggle was a lamb.He loved his little ‘lamby’ so much he used to cuddle it then roll over with it.In the morning we would find this rather squashed and flattened but so well loved object. It never failed to raise a smile 🙂 The other thought, and hence the wording,is to do with thanking his Dad for all the help and support he has given him to shape him into the lovely little boy he is today. My son looks a little like Aleks too 😉
