Little Miss (Em)Bossy Boots

At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Embossing – either wet or dry.We have the fabulous Cardmadfairy and Simon Says as our sponsors.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!

I’ve used Imogen from Cardmadfairy and coloured her with FlexMarkers.’Cos she’s quite a cute ‘n’ quirky image I thought I’d  colour her a little differently in greyscale and highlighting parts of the  image with colour.I also decided to make a bit of a quirky card to go with her too. After printing her I used an embossing folder to create a frame around her.I did put it in the ‘wrong’ way round to push the frame out instead of debossing it.I hand cut around it too taking off the swirly pattern that was part of the original design.I chose a few other folders and cut strips then glued them to a plain piece of card before trimming it size and adding the stitches.I took some silver metal corners, dabbed them onto a Versamark pad then coated them in black embossing powder.Whilst I had these supplies out I stamped and embossed the sentiment too.I also added a narrow ribbon.

Supplies :

Image : Imogen from Cardmadfairy

Dear Santa ‘owl’ be good!

It’s the lovely Claire’s turn to play hostess at Willow Sketchie Challenge this week and here’s her fabby sketch :

She has also set the theme Christmas in August.Don’t forget you can either use the sketch and/or theme. You could be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend at Willow Designs too! As well as a winner (chosen randomly) there will be a hand picked Top 3 and they will receive a super cute badge for their blog.Don’t forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.

I’m sorry to say this will be Claire’s last challenge with us 😦 Really gonna miss you and your beautiful Willow creations and sketches.

For my card I’ve used Dear Santa clear stamp  by Willow Designs and I’ve coloured him (or could be her in girly colours) with ProMarkers.Made some Liquid Pearls snow, dotted some snowflakes and added some more to the pom pom on his little hat for more interest and texture.I chose a simple colour scheme of red, white and kraft. The papers are from the Walter & Winnie does Christmas CD-Rom also by Willow Designs. After sticking the first layer of paper directly onto the base card I cut up another card blank to mat everything else onto.I dug out some buttons and grosgrain ribbon from an old Christmas embellishment kit to add as a few extras. As the image already had some text I didn’t feel the need for any more words so in effect I’ve mirrored the sketch.

Supplies :

Image : Dear Santa clear stamp from Willow Designs

Sitting fairy-ily comfortably

The Power of Three is the challenge at Craft Your Passion this week.So you must use 3 of something in your creation…3 papers, buttons, flowers etc.We have the fabulous Milk Coffee and Crafty Sentiments as our sponsors.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!

For my card I’ve used the beautiful Scilla Fairy from Crafty Sentiments and coloured her with ProMarkers. Her wings have been coloured with Copic Atyou Spica pens. It’s a shame it’s so hard to capture the sparkle of these on camera – they really do IRL.The papers were a freebie in the last issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine. As her dress has a leafy feel to it I thought they would compliment it perfectly. The ribbon she’s sitting on is also a previous freebie from the same magazine.A piece of cheesecloth has been placed behind her to soften and break up the backing paper without covering it up.A lacy punch and die cut have been used for a more delicate look and no fairy as lovely this would be complete without some flowers and a bit of bling. My 3’s for this card are 3 gems,3 leaves and 3 3-layered flowers.

Supplies :

Image : Scilla Fairy from Crafty Sentiments
Colouring mediums : ProMarkers,Copic Atyou Spica pens

Christmas krafting

It’s my turn to play host at Willow Sketchie Challenge this week and here’s  my sketch :

I’ve also chosen the theme of Get Krafty – use kraft paper/card in your project. You can either work with the sketch and/or theme.

For my card I’ve used Fast Asleep clear stamp by Willow Designs.I’ve stamped onto kraft card and coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers. The fluffy bits of the image have been coloured with a white gel pen and once it dried I shaded the edges with a pale grey Copic Ciao Marker. The two kraft squares were dry embossed.I stamped the sentiment and snowflake on the triangular piece. Some pearl brads have been added to embellish. As you can probably tell I rotated the sketch.

Supplies :

Gone Buggy is theme at Craft Your Passion this week.We have the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps as our sponsor.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!

I’ve used the adorable Lady Bug – butterfly from Bugaboo Stamps.I coloured with Polychromos and blended out with low odour oils thinners using paper stumps. As you can probably make out I’ve applied 3D Crystal Lacquer on the wing case, nose, eyes and antennae.I decided to go with monochrome papers and I wanted to leave some white space in the background.I added some red faux suede strips and pearls accents.I hand cut  a banner with the sentiment on and tucked one end under the die cut flower.I shaped it and lifted that part with some foam tape.

Owl shook up!

It’s Pauline’s turn to host this week at Willow Sketchie Challenge and here’s her fabby sketch :

There is also a theme of Warm Colours (Red,Orange,Yellow etc..).Don’t forget you can use the sketch along with the theme or choose either one to play along.

Sadly this will be Pauline’s last challenge with us 😦  Will miss you and your wonderful Willow creations (and sketches!),hun.

I’ve used Bit Chilly clear stamp from Willow Designs and coloured this cut little owl with ProMarkers.Woodware Fluffy Stuff has been added to the trim on his hat and to the drippy snow on the branch. The central panel has been edged using a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page set.An aperture has been cut and framed in the middle, then acetate placed behind. The red card for the frame was more of an orangey tone so I colour tinted it with an ink pad. Before adhering the image under this with foam tape I added some glittery tinsel stuff that was a magazine freebie last year.So there you have it I made a shaker card! To decorate the card I’ve added some wire edged ribbon tied in a bow, with a brad stuck into it and used the corner punch waste for some extra detail.

Supplies :

For my card I’ve used the adorable Kutie Kim Roller Girl from Sassy Studio Designs.I’ve coloured her with FlexMarkers.I thought she’d look great teamed with these Papermania Design Stax Happy Days papers.Just love the 1950’s kitsch feel to them.Keeping the layout simple I’ve layered them onto some kraft, added some baker’s twine and metal embellishments. The bottle cap is a real one, courtesy of my DH!After being fanned out a little with some craft pliers I punched out one on the centers from the bottle cap paper then adhered it to the cap and coated it using 3D Crystal Lacquer.
