Fairy-ly stitched up

Here’s peek at the Bingo board :

This is the dreamy Rose Fairy  by Crafty Sentiments Designs.What a beauty 🙂 She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.I’ve followed the left hand vertical column (Stitching,Embossing,Buttons).The background squares and the ovals,with the stitching detail,have been cut with my new Crealies dies.

After looking at many (far too many) of this style of die I decided on these.They seemed very good value and doubts about things being too good to be true started creeping into my head.Oh my gosh!I’m impressed!On the first pass to cut them on my Big Shot the stitched detail showed straight away.I then went on to emboss them and got the beautiful raised part like you do with other dies with embossing capabilities.Altho’ I could have used them by just cutting them I liked the added dimension 🙂 They are quite sizeable too.I’ve never bought this brand before and I’m so happy with them 😀 Only thing I wasn’t sure about was the ovals being longer and skinnier than my Nestie sets but as you can see this pretty gal fits in nicely.I’ve also made a – dare I say it…yeah I’m gonna – Christmas card with them and the image fitted fine in there too.

Anyways…back to this card… For the embossing I chose a rose folder to go with my fairy friend.And the buttons are added to the flower centres.Finished with a freebie stamp 🙂

Here’s the adorable KIDZ – dad boy by Bugaboo Stamps coloured up with Copic Ciao Markers.The wording has been paper pieced with some woodgrain effect paper.Of course he’s perfect for Father’s Day or if your kids just want to tell their Dad how great he is!I layered up the rest of the card and cut some banners from more of the papers from the same pad.As they are quite contrasting I didn’t feel the need for additional cardstock.A line of piercing and faux stitching has added across the top of the banners to give the impression they have been sewn on.Real sewing?Not me!Well,not very often 😉 A row of brads,chosen as they stood out best against the paper,decorate the top right corner.

This is Little Polly – I Love Cupcakes and isn’t she just the sweetest?!She’s been watercoloured with pencils for a softer look to go with the pastel colours on the card.The background piece is Whitewash card embossed with one of my favourite folders then sanded back to reveal some of the colour.The edges have been pierced too.A panel of cute cupcake paper which has had the top and bottom punched plus an aperture cut has been placed over Little Polly to frame her.The sentiments have been cut from another sheet of paper from the same collection and I ‘made’ the epoxy sticker buttons by placing them over yet another piece of paper with – yes,you’ve guessed it! – buttons printed on it and cutting them out,including pierced holes.The largest one has been threded with some Baker’s Twine – how apt 😀

Here’s a close up of the frosting on her cupcake decorated by applying Frosted Lace Stickles.See what I did there 😉

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is For a Man.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

After toying with a few football and circular themed ideas the decision was made to go with a round easel card plus a paper pieced football.Perfect for this great little guy – Let’s Play Ball by Crafty Sentiments Designs.He’s been coloured up with Copic Ciao Markers.As this is for my DH (it’s OK he won’t see it – he doesn’t show any interest in my blog :P) and being he’s an avid Man Utd fan I tried to colour this as closely as I could to their home kit.The trophy is a bought die cut piece I’ve had an my stash for many years,dragged out especially for this occasion 😉 The ‘1’ is removable so it got a coating of black Copic ink before being put back into place.A stamped tag has been tied to the handle with some cord from a clothing price tag.I found the chipboard button from the same collection as the paper and threaded some more cord through that.Spot and stripes make a good combination for manly cards,don’t you think?A computer generated greeting added as a banner shaped stopper completes the card .

Isn’t Spring Melody by The East Wind just so pretty?After my recent rediscovery of shaker cards I thought I’d go down a more girly route…filled with sequins,beads ,gems and prettiness 🙂 She’s been coloured with Spectrum Noir Pencils for a soft look,fussy cut and popped up on foam tape.No blending solution here,just layers of pencil to merge and shade.Some lovely,glittery paper for the top piece.A stamped greeting  and that’s it 🙂 I felt with all the glitz I didn’t really need to add anything else.Nor did I want to cover the sparkly paper too much 😉

This is going in my collection of cards for my DD2’s birthday – in October!She loves listening to music so this is perfect for her 😀

(I did see a card that inspired this one.Sorry,I always give credit where it’s due but I’m not able to this time as I cleared my History and no longer have the link 😦 )
