At Craft Your Passion this week the challenge is Natural Materials. We have the fabulous DRS Designs and The Robin’s Nest as our sponsors too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.
For my card I’ve used the adorable Doggie Dilemma With Fence by DRS Designs and tried to get some texture going with some Soft Pastel Pencils.I’ve coloured the doggy to look like our own,Socks,as this is exactly the sort of thing she would do!Well, that is if she wasn’t afraid of sticks!!She is such a baby it’s hard to find anything she isn’t scared of!!!Seriously tho’ it does make me wonder what some of these poor little creatures have been through in their previous lives when they’ve come from animal shelters 😦 Luckily for my girl she’s now well cared for, extremely well loved and,of course, thoroughly spoilt! 😀 Anyways…back to the card…Following on from the theme and image I chose some leafy papers, some kraft card(the inner vertical pieces are embossed and flipped so the back side is showing) and roughed up the edges.I cut two triangles,in different sizes, from hessian.Whilst thinking of more natural stuff to add to my card I suddenly remembered a selection of dried, pressed flowers (and other flora) I bought a long time ago.The orangey/brown squished things are,I believe, kumquats – but don’t hold me to that…LOL.The greenery is definitely made up of herbs.I added a trio of wooden buttons threaded with Jute Twine, one of which being placed on the hand cut tag. This card is going to be for Father’s Day from my DS1.Now,I’m not sure if the sentiment applies to our sweet, crazy dog or my DH!

Just a reminder that the Anything Goes challenge at Just Some Lines is still open. You could be in the running for a super prize. You need play along with a Just Some Lines image to enter and one random winner will get 4 digi stamps of their choice. It doesn’t stop there tho’ as the Top 3 will get one digi stamp each too! There is a freebie to get you started too or you can choose one from Just Some Lines here.
For my card I’ve used Flying High by Just Some Lines and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers.I thought it would be interesting to make an easel card with an acetate back piece to make her zoom through the air 🙂 As it can be difficult to glue acetate without the adhesive showing through I adhered the cloud paper over the top. This also hid the white base card.I die cut a few clouds and added those as well.I chose some other papers from the same K & Co collection to make up the rest of the card along with a strip of coordinating card.I simply printed the wording on the computer and after cutting in to a banner shape I embellished it with a button threaded with paper twine.
Huge apologies to all at Just Some Lines DT.I’m late posting my card…I’ve gone down with a rather nasty virus and haven’t been able to venture out of bed much…sorry 😦

At Just Some Lines the challenge is Anything Goes this fortnight.Only projects made with Just Some Lines images can be entered. But the good news is there will be a freebie image posted on the blog for the duration of the challenge for you to use!Just pop on over to Just Some Lines to find out all the details. While you’re there don’t forget to get inspired by the DT’s creations.
For my card I’ve used the sweet Emo Tulip by Just Some Lines and coloured her with Copic Ciao Markers.I’ve teamed her with some pretty First Edition papers and some lovely shimmery cardstock I found to go with it in my stash.Everything has been layered onto a kraft card blank, using another for the die cut pieces. The centre has been cut from the doily type die with another from the same set.The tulips have been made by cutting up and reassembling a couple of flowers again from these dies.I added texture with an embossing folder on the mat the image is on.I just HAD to use my new Whimsy Stamps button stamps and die again for the sentiment which has been threaded with baker’s twine.I’ve embellished with some raffia lace ribbon. Not only does it go beautifully with the kraft I totally adore this stuff ♥ – nearly as much as my dog!
This is what happens when the dog gets on the bed just as you’re in the middle of making it and you think she will move…

Should’ve known better really,shouldn’t I?!

Just a reminder that the Mother’s Day challenge at Just Some Lines is still open.
For my card I’ve used the sweet Mother’s Day -For You by Just Some Lines and coloured it with Polychromos pencils and blended out the blue shaded bit around the image with some low odour oils thinners. The sentiment comes with the digi stamp.I cut a base card out using these fab Go Kreate dies.I actually bought them in the January Sales but have only used them now for the first time.Ooooopsie…I then cut another piece the same size in green card. This means that you have the whole shape on the front of your card rather than the folded edge showing.I also trim a tiny slither off the bottom of the back of the card base for stability. This also makes sure that the original shape isn’t spoiled.I die cut a mat of some pretty First Editions paper and layered a length of satin ribbon over the top before fixing the green piece to the card front. The daisy border has been cut with my new Crafts Too die in green and pink card then I trimmed the flowers to fit over the top.I snipped the border in half to extend it across the width of the card. The sentiment was mounted onto a stamp shape from a Spellbinders set.The rather pretty butterfly was cut from a freebie die that came with a past issue of Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine. Some flat backed pearls have been used to embellish.
