This week at Craft Your Passion it’s time for a photo inspiration challenge. We have the fabulous Some Odd Girl as our sponsor.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
Here’s a little peek at the pic :

For my card I’ve used A little lift from Just Some Lines. She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers and the sky created with Distress Ink using a template from Bev Rochester’s blog All the Things I Love.I applied it with an old Kabuki makeup brush (thoroughly cleaned and dried first,of course!!),kind of squeezing the bristles into a point. This way it adds more definition to the edged of the inking and enables you to get in close to the image. When I first saw this photo the papers and image just popped into my head and just seemed so perfect. All the blue card is a lovely pearlised and textured card but not sure if this comes across in the photo.I added some brads and acute metal tab from a pack I picked up in a bargain bucket at my local craft warehouse.
Supplies :
Image : A little lift from Just Some Lines
Mediums : Copic Ciao Markers,Tumbled Glass Distress Ink
Papers & Card : DP K & Co, Blue card from stash

Just a reminder that the Anything Halloween challenge at Just Some Lines is still running until 11:59pm EST on Thursday 1st November.Plenty of time to join us then! You could be in the running for a super prize and if you play along with a Just Some Lines image you can choose to create an Anything Goes project or follow the theme.
This is my first attempt at a wall hanging featuring the spook-tacular Halloween Little Ghost from Just Some Lines.I’m quite pleased that I managed to compose the background digitally using the Summertime Designs A Boo-tiful Night Papers,Elements and Alphabet in Microsoft Power Point.Once printed out I felt it looked a little flat and it was hard to pick out the wording and the pumpkins at the front.I didn’t want to print them out again and layer them as I had already set out a plan in my mind.So I covered the words in Crackle Accents. Not only did it intensify the colour it gave a great effect :

For the pumpkins I used 2 layers, allowing to dry in between,of glaze pen. This enhanced the colour and added a waxy appearance similar to the real thing.Next I printed out the Halloween Little Ghost out twice onto smooth cardstock and once onto linen effect card.I coloured the hair, the part of the face that shows through the holes, stripey socks and shoes with Copic Ciao Markers.I then cut out the sheet from the linen effect card and shaded that with Copic Cioas plus the Blender.Because I didn’t want linen effect hands and they would stick out from under the sheet in real life once coloured I also cut them out.I shaped the card with my fingers and layered it up using 3-D Collall Glue Gel.Here’s a closer look at those :

To finish the piece I added some jute ribbon that I didn’t store properly and so it ended up tatty, but I think it fits well with the theme.Punched a couple of holes and fixed some eyelets with my Crop-A-Dile.I used some black wire to hang it with and threaded some beads I recycled from a handbag embellishment onto the ends.

It’s the lovely Anne-Marie’s turn to host at Willow Sketchie Challenge this week and here’s her fabby sketch :

The theme is Christmas in October.Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and/or theme. You could be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend at Willow Designs too!As well as a winner (chosen randomly) there will be a hand picked Top 3 and they will receive a super cute badge for their blog.Don’t forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.
For my card I’ve used Keeping Warm clear stamp from Willow Designs. He’s been coloured with ProMarkers and whitened his bobble, the stocking trim and spots with a white Souffle pen.It does add a minimal amount of texture but the camera has failed to pick it up.I’ve teamed him with some quite funky papers and used my fave Punch Around the Page set. It’s kind of hard to describe how I made the corner pieces…I punched two corners of a piece of green cardstock then trimmed them down at right angles. No real technique nor clever measuring, just eye balled it.I added two sizes of flat backed pearls for the berries.
The reasoning behind my post title is because I’m making a desperate attempt to get my Christmas cards completed in plenty of time instead of my usual mad scramble to get them in the mail on the last day of posting!I’m sure you’ve never been in that position…right? 😉 I’ve not counted how many I’ve made as DT cards but I know I have 4 finished cards (yes that many LOL).I have 16 others in various stages of completion.I have to say I’ve had to keep them really simple in an effort to keep the postage costs down 😦 Not had them weighed or measured yet…so hoping they don’t fall in the large letter category.Curse you Royal Mail for quashing our creativity!
Supplies :
Image : Keeping Warm clear stamp from Willow Designs
Sentiment : Dovecraft stamp (I think?)

This week at Craft Your Passion the theme is Fairies & Fantasy. We have the fabulous Delicious Doodles as our sponsor.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
For my card I’ve used Mythical Pegasus from Delicious Doodles.PLEASE NOTE : I cannot take credit for the beautiful shading on this image. That must go to Teri the artist who created this incredible work of art – for that’s what it is!.The only contribution I made was a teeny bit of pencil shading under the hooves to ground the image.I simply printed it out and felt it really needed nothing else.I decided to try my hand at paper weaving a background and to keep a monochrome look to compliment the digi stamp.Being the mathematical genius I am (so totally not!) I’d cut the strips to 1/2″ and then tried to make it easier by lining the first horizontal piece in the middle. One big problem…I was then left with a 1/4″ to spare top and bottom, instead of being flush like the sides. So trying to make it look like it was really all part of the clever design plan I took my scissors and chopped the top and bottom pieces at angles.I punched a border and threaded it with some ribbon, carrying on the weaving theme, amd added some black gems to both the image and sentiment.
Supplies :

At Willow Sketchie Challenge this week it’s Sonia’s first time to host and here’s her fabby sketch :

The theme is Thinking of Your/Just for You cards.Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and or theme.
For my card I’ve used Busy in the Garden digital stamp from Willow Designs .Now there are some things I’ve always wanted to try my crafty hand at.One being creating my own Pyramage and another is the Spotlighting Technique. The years have gone by and have I managed to try either…er…no.So when I saw Sonia’s sketch the Pyramge idea leapt out at me straight away and then the cogs, albeit a little rusty, started whirring. Why not combine it with a kind of Spotlighting Technique by only colouring the top layer. And so Pyra-Lighting was born! Not sure if I’m really the first but it’s not something I’ve seen before. To be honest I wasn’t really sure how I was going to pull this one off.It did take a little brain power but I got there in the end 😀 The top layer is coloured with Copic Sketch Markers. The spotty paper is from the Polly Pickleberry CD-rom from Willow Designs and I die cut some matching flowers.I added some cord and buttons to the centres of the flowers. With a little patience and a LOT of fiddling around(wish it was the other way round!)I managed to poke the tiny off cuts from the bow through the holes in the buttons.I stamped and punched out a circular greeting as I thought it went with the flowers better. This was mounted on foam tape for extra dimension.

Which Witch is Which is the theme at Craft Your Passion this week.So you must have a witch image on your project…the question is…is she good or is she bad?!We have the fabulous A Day for Daisies as our sponsor.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!
For my card I’ve used the super cute Miss Star Witch from A Day for Daisies. She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers.Because she’s such a sweet looking gal I didn’t want to make a traditional Halloween card.So I opted to create a pretty card around her.I must confess I bought these gorgeous papers back at the beginning of Summer and have only used them on one card before 😮 I just can’t bring myself to cut them up!I love them too much!Do I need help?Gonna have to face the fact that they will go out of fashion (some have chevron patterns) and I’ve really got to use them.Anyway,I added some of this fabulous web ribbon, think spiderwebs here, and some black gems for a more Halloweeny feel.I kind of cheated with the ribbon as it doesn’t run the entire length of the strip. It seemed such a waste to obscure such a thing of beauty so I cut two short pieces and gave the illusion that it runs behind the image. This certainly seems a case of the more you read the worse it gets!LOL But there is method in my madness as it now means I have more to play with 🙂 I sometimes do this with favourite papers/cardstock too.Maybe there is just no hope for me!!
Supplies :

Just a reminder that the Too Cute to Spook challenge at Just Some Lines is still running until 11:59pm EST on Thursday 18th October.Plenty of time to join us then! You could be in the running for a super prize and if you play along with a Just Some Lines image you can choose to create an Anything Goes project or follow the theme.
For my card I’ve used the hellishly handsome Halloween Devil from Just Some Lines. He’s been coloured with Copic Sketch Markers and been given a silver gel pen coloured trident.I gave him a Johnny Test-esque fringe (anyone with boys + Cartoon Network may know what I mean!) Instead of true Halloween papers I chose these rather jazzy little numbers.I added a punched border and some twine. After finding I had no large red brads left in the pack I dug out some snazzy metallic Christmas ones. The sentiment came from the workings of my own mind (yeah, genius!I know…) and were printed in this fab font via my ‘puter.I hand cut the letters separately then stuck them on some red card and cut them out again.I’ve seen lots of wonky sentiments on peoples cards, think “I ought to try that”,then completely forget. No this time tho’!:D

It’s Margreet ‘s first time to host the Willow Sketchie Challenge this week. Here’s her fabby sketch :

The theme is Button It Up!Don’t forget you can follow the sketch and or theme.
For my card I’ve used Hanging Around clear stamp from Willow Designs.I’ve coloured with Copic CiaoMarkers.Add some interest I’ve punched the two bottom corners on the image, paper and card layers,as well as the base card. Some paper flowers, buttons and twine complete the look.I’ve rotated the sketch.
Some of you may’ve noticed that I’ve messed up following the sketch.I didn’t realise ’til afterwards that I cut my patterned paper layer too big 😦 My only excuse is we’ve been pretty poorly in our house this week so my minds not quite right….OK…maybe that’s just normal for me! :p
My DS1 decided to take his bedding downstairs to snuggle up on the sofa.

There’s always one isn’t there?Wanting to muscle in on the action.
“You can’t possibly be cross with me?I’m too cute aren’t I?Aren’t I?”
Doesn’t wash with me I’m afraid and she knows it only too well!Noticed how the lazy girl has only managed to open ONE eye!Bless,♥ her 😉
Today is also a special day for my DD2 as it’s her 13th Birthday.
We sadly say goodbye to Hazel this week, our trusty DT Coordinator. But we have another long standing member, the lovely Kelly,to step into her shoes. We will miss you at Willow Sketchie Challenge, hun x

For my card I’ve used Pumpkin Watering Can & Mums from Pattie’s Creations.Such a beautiful image and perfect for this time of year. The colouring is done with Copic Ciao Markers.I wanted to give this a torn straight from the sketchbook feel so I used my Spellbinders die.I inked the edges while the image was still in the die.I did the same with the sentiment. This was part of a magazine freebie stamp set.Originally it did have a sun to the right of the word You but I masked that off so it would fit in the die cut better. The papers are also a freebie. The ribbon was from my DS2’s Birthday cake from last week 🙂 I’m sure he doesn’t mind me stealing borrowing it 😉 He loves his Mummy 😀 I dug out a Prima flower and leaves from my stash along with the wooden flower button which I stained with Distress Ink before threading.
