S’now friends like good friends

I thought I’d dress Snowman and friends by Crafty Sentiments Designs up in some bright pastel shades using Copic Ciao Markers to break away from the traditional colours I usually go for.Some Frosted Lace Stickles has been added beneath him for a sparkly,snowy finish.The background strip has been stamped in Versamark and heat embossed using white detail powder.Pleased at how crisp it came out as they were magazine freebie stamps.The panel was then wrapped with some fluffy fibres I came across in my long lost stash whilst I was sorting out.The sentiment was part of the freebies stamps and the same technique applied.The bottom of the card has been dry embossed with another magazine freebie folder.Yet another card for next Christmas 😀

Blitz with present by Crafty Sentiments Designs could be used for any gift giving occasion.Here I’ve chosen Christmas.Her clothing and neatly wrapped parcel have been paper pieced and the rest has been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers.The papers and colours are both non traditional but I thought the pastel shades would add some pretty festive cheer 🙂 The background panel has been created using a patchwork style design onto kraft card.Some complimetary ric-rac,from the same collection,has been stretched across the bottom.The greeting is stamped directly onto the base.The wooden wreath was a little too golden yellow to coordinate with the kraft so a couple of ink pads were used to tone it down a bit.This shall be another Christmas card for 2017 – I’ve now made 4 in total for NEXT year!!

Pop Up Pup!

How cute is Patches Puppy – Surprize!Surprize! by Crafty Sentiments Designs?Decided to do a little texture colouring on this sweet pup with my Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.These lovely papers are Dovecraft  Garden Party which I must confess despite buying them,and some beautiful embellishments from the same collection,about two years ago I have only used once before – shocking 😮 Thought I’d go for a bit of a celebratory theme and hand cut a banner as part of the layering.Feeling the need to use part of the coordinating stash I cut a couple of short lengths of ribbon and looped them in to tabs.The sentiment,stamped onto card,has had the same treatment.I’ve doubled up the Blossoms and adhered a gem to the centre.All done 🙂

Here’s the utterly adorable Candy Elf A by A Day For Daisies.Thought I’d try a non-traditional Christmas colour palette along with a different colour combo rather than just grab my usual favourite pens.As a starting point to the card I wanted to try an idea with these recently received magazine freebie stamps.So out came the kraft card and some white embossimg powder plus my Versamark pad.Have to say I’m pretty impressed with the results,not only from the quality of the stamps but the embossing powder too.A die cut poinsettia topped with a jute twine threaded button and some pompom trim have been added as finishing touches.I did stamp and heat emboss a greeting at the bottom of the card and enhanced it with chalks,but the camera has failed to pick it up.Also it has failed to show the shine on the sweetie given by the 3D Crystal Lacquer I applied.It all looks so much better IRL…never mind as the little elf really deserves to be the star of the show 😉

This is actually a card for NEXT Christmas (2017) as I’ve already finished all those for this year 😀

A Patch of Winter

This is the adorable Jingle Bell by Crafty Sentiments Designs.She and her little friend have been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers.Polar White Flower Soft has been added to the trims on her clothing and the snow on the ground.The falling snowflakes have been dotted with Liquid Pearls.After embossing the greeting at the bottom of the card a patchwork panel of patterned paper and kraft with gingham ribbon wrapped around has been adhered.Stitched dies have been used to cut out the image and kraft card mat.A star button threaded with jute twine is the finishing touch.

Which basket is witch?

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

I decided to make a Halloween style Slatted Basket to go with the adorable Isobel – Broom and Lantern by Crafty Sentiments Designs.Such a sweet witch!She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers before being fussy cut and added to the front of the basket.These fun papers are glittered on the cute monsters side and you can just make out them twinkling on camera – for a change 😉 A couple of buttons threaded with some paper raffia (torn into narrower strips to fit through the buttonholes) have been adhered to either side where the handle is attached for a little decoration.I even raided the sweets we’d bought for all the Trick or Treaters who we are expecting to come knocking at our door for the purpose of these shots.They did all make it safely back into the bag 🙂

Primrose – Autumn Leaves by Crafty Sentiments Designs is a cutie,isn’t she 🙂 She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers.I chose to layer her up on these pretty papers,including a glittery one,and kraft for an Autumnal feel.Some lovely orange ribbon from my stash has been picked out to compliment her dress . A die cut bunch of leaves arranged behind a crochet flower to emulate those in her hand are the finishing touch.I just love this time of year so this little sweetheart is right up my street 😀

A Basket of Flowers – Easel-y!

**I’m late posting this as my internet is still not good 😦 Wish they’d sort it out!!**

I’ve coloured up the sweet Basket of Flowers by Crafty Sentiments Designs with watercolor pencils.I made a pretty shaped easel card to display her on.The stopper is made by die cutting the sentiment four times out of watercolour card and layering it all together,adhering with wet glue.The ribbon threaded border is a Martha Stewart punch.Some flowers were die cut with flat backed pearls added to the centres and the leaf sprays hand cut from a piece of coordinating paper.

**I’m late posting this as I had no internet yesterday – again!Big thumbs down to Talk Talk 😦 **

For my little friend Acorn Hugs by Sami Stamps I’ve used my Polychromos pencils to colour him up giving him a furry effect and texture to the acorn.Blending solution and a paper stump have been applied to give the cup and background a smoother appearance.White Soufflé pen has been added for the highlights and,although it doesn’t show in the pic,3D Crystal Lacquer coats his eyes,nose and acorn.Quite a simplistic design using dies,paper distresser,jute twine and wooden embellishments along with these fabulous papers in Autumnal hues.

Oh Mia,oh my

Here’s the very chic Mia by Sasayaki Glitter.I decided to ‘dress’ her by paper piecing her clothing including her bag,shoes and hairbow which have also been glittered.The spots on her top have been painted with gesso as I still ,rather annoyingly,can’t find my white gel pen anywhere!Her hair and skin have been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers.A little shading has been given to her clothing using these pens too.The background papers are glittery too 🙂 Some satin ribbon and pearl brads complete the card.
