Here’s the adorable Sleeping Puppy by The East Wind.She’s been coloured with pencils for a furry effect with the obligatory shine added to her nose with a spot of white gel pen 😉 The bed and blanket have been paper pieced with extra shading and details added with more pencil colouring.I’ve made a shaped tent card by only die cutting up to the fold then embossing the rest using some stitch effect dies.The papers and stitch effect dies were chosen for that cosy home feeling and very much in keeping with that sweet snuggly pup 🙂 The ric rac fits with the soft theme and the tag is (supposed) to emulate that found dangling from many a dog’s collar.The twine tied buttons tie in with the sewing undercurrent running through the card.

World’s Most Realistic Pyjama Case goes to…

Socks,my naughty,but sweet, Whiffie (my preferred name for my staffie x whippet!) had managed to sneak onto my bed again for a snooze on my pillows.Usually I fold my pyjamas and lay them there but as someone had already taken their place I decided to plonk them on top of her.She briefly opened a lazy eye then carried on snoring!Really,I ask you?!

I’ve coloured up the super BBKakes Cool Buddy’s from Stitchy Bear’s Digi Outlet with Copic Ciao Markers.You may be able to just make out the 3D Crystal Lacquer on the lenses of their shades 😉 Thought I’d go with a double layer of kraft topped off with a geometric black and white patterned paper for a masculine feel.A few red eyelets added to the corners to tie in with the image and for a splash,but not too much,of colour.The sentiment I made myself in Word 🙂 This is for my DS2’s Birthday in September…I do like to try and keep ahead!

As soon as I saw this owl image in the Teacher’s Pet set by Deedee’s Digis I just knew I had to make some kind of book style card.The idea for this one came from here at Card-Making-Magic.Of course,this pre-coloured image is one of a few images you get (in different formats),along with a couple of papers and several sentiments!Great value 🙂 I added a bookplate die cut containing one of the sentiments attached with eyelets,a baker’s twine tied paperclip and an extra large eyelet.This is for one of my DS2’s teachers and it’s his last year at Primary School before he starts ‘Big School’ in September.It’s also kind of an end of an era for us as he’s our youngest.He has 2 part time teachers and a teaching assistant.So I guess I will using the rest of this fab kit to make a couple more of these style cards 😉

Aren’t these just the most cute fun dinosaurs you could wish to meet?!They’re from the Tiny Dinos set by Doodle Pantry.As with all their sets you get so much in them 😀 Here I’ve printed the dinos onto some of the patterned papers included with them.I’d already printed them onto card as I wanted extra stability once they were fussy cut.Their eyes and the spots on the stegosaurus have been paper pieced.The spots have even been done so with spotty paper  😉 I die cut some hills for them to play on and the sentiment,which is also included,has been cut with a stitching edged die.A couple of eyelets have been used to embellish.The dinos and the sentiment have been popped up on foam tape for dimension.Yeah,I know I’ve backed the scene with white rather than a sky blue.That’s for more contrast against the kraft and the card the sentiment is mounted on 🙂

Here’s Charles Bear – Just Relax by Crafty Sentiments Designs all coloured up with Polychromos Pencils to add some texture to his fur and the wooden tub his bathing in.A few white gel pen highlights have been thrown into the mix along with some gloss to the bubbles and spilt water.I chose some First Edition papers that reminded me of wallpaper patterns along with a woodgrain one from another set.I was going to use an embossing folder of the same pattern but it seems to have gone AWOL!A Gromlet – or Wallace & Gromlet as I like to call them 😉 – and some hairy twine (always good for hairy men’s cards) have been added.Just love these alaphabet stamps 😀 Well,that’s another Father’s Day card ready.

As Father’s Day is looming here in the UK I thought I’d take the opportunity to make a little gift using Jellybean Prayer by Deedee’s Digis .These are my DH’s favourite jelly beans.He’s not big on sweets but he loves these plus the added bonus is they’re easily obtainable from my favourite discount store 😉 I adapted and remeasured a Test Tube Holder idea.Boy,it wasn’t easy for someone who’s mathematically challenged but I got there in the end.I had to add an extra piece for the back panel as with having to enlarge it to accommodate the tube the card just wasn’t long enough.The rest is pretty simple.Just a couple of papers from the set (there’s LOADS in this kit),a pre-coloured image and the sentiment is one I made up.There is a similar one,along with a lovely prayer,in the set but it didn’t quite match this occasion.A pair of eyelets to attach said sentiment and we’re good to go 😀

Christmas Kisses

I’m guesting for the Just Some Lines Facebook Challenge again 🙂 To enter the December Tag It! Challenge you need to create a tag.The other stipulation is that you must use a Just Some Lines image.But with so many beauties in the store it wouldn’t be difficult to choose!My card,along with other wonderful inspiration and extra details on how to enter,can be found on the Just Some Lines Blog too.

This is Sweet Amber – Mistletoe by Just Some Lines.She’s been printed onto kraft card and coloured with Polychromos Pencils.The tag and layers have been created with a Go Kreate die set as the tag dies I have weren’t really big enough but I think this shape works well.The patterned paper is a freebie,The sentiment was stamped and cut with one of my tag die sets.A strip of natural hessian ribbon has been placed behind Amber to give some texture.To keep with the rustic element some jute twine has been threaded through the top of the tag along with some ribbon that has been recycled from last years Christmas cake 🙂

Here’s the sweet and adorable Candy Corn Fairy with Hat and Wand by Aurora Wings.She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers and of course,as she’s a fairy,the obligatory glitter in the form of Stickles this time.After seeing a hexagonal box made on a Candy Punch Box Board,which I don’t have,I wondered if there would be a way round that?!With much fiddling with dimensions to get the size I wanted and a long reach heart punch I managed it.I stuffed it with some yummy Halloween sweets 🙂 Even tho’ we give away goodies to the Trick or Treater’s that come to our door I usually make a little something extra for my own kids.Altho’ given the angle the photo has been taken at the tag with the fairy on looks very much larger IRL it isn’t!But I don’t mind as it showcases this lil’ beauty off a treat – or shouild that be Trick or Treat! 😀

Here we have the fantastic Rocket Dog -Digi Stamp by  QKR Stampede  reaching for the stars.He’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers with dots of silver gel pen on the rivets on both the rocket and his collar.The stars have been coated with Frosted Lace Stickles for some subtle sparkle rather than all out girly glitz. Of course,apart from loving dogs (especially my girl ♥) they are my favourite make of boots so for me he was the ultimate choice 🙂 Also this will be for my DS2’s Birthday in September.Gotta stay ahead!!Plus he’s pretty enamoured with dogs too – don’t know where he’s got that from 😉 Glad I found these papers.They’re just great for masculine projects and I like the colour palette too.There’s a nifty woodgrain pattern and a couple of florals thrown in as well 🙂 Some die cut stars wound with silver cord and some eyelets to go with the rivet theme have been added to embellish.
