Moss and Poppy part 2

poppies007

Here is a second card for the Moss and Poppy challenge at Passion for ProMarkers.

This was actually going to be my first and prepared the images already as they have colours for future challenges in their sidebar. But my plans were scuppered as when I went back there was  an added twist.I didn’t think I’d get away with just saying I love poppy seed bread and crackers!!I don’t seem to have much in the way of stamps that include food or drink either so was rather pleased to find this one in a little used set.

What better than poppies to use with a pen of the same name.I also took inspiration from the wild poppies growing in our garden and the moss under the trampoline.Following on from that the wine image seemed to fit in with enjoying a nice glass of something whilst sitting in the garden.

I tried something different too by stamping and colouring onto some distressed backing papers from the Cupcake and Archiac ranges by Basic Grey.It may seem a bit greedy using two images but these Elusive Images stamps are so lovely I find it hard to seperate them.

These are the pens I used:

poppies 010 (Small)

The centers of the flowerheads were coloured with Lemon, the darker areas shaded with Burnt Umber followed by Poppy.I used Lemon,Moss and Burnt Umber to add graduated colour to the leaves and seed cases.

The same colours were used on the seed cases on the top image with a little Poppy  added as well.To create highlights on both the cases and the wine glass and bottle I lay down the Lemon first applied a small amount of Moss then used the Lemon again to remove and blend some of darker ink. A dot of Burnt Umber was placed on each of the grapes before Poppy was blended  over the top.

The background vellum is printed from Damask Delights CD-Rom also by Elusive Images.

TFL  and I really appreciate your comments,

Craftybunny x.
