Shaking it up for Christmas!

004

Over at the Crafty Sentiments Designs Inspirational Blog¬†there is a special Advent Calendar to help you count down to Christmas.Every day there will be some gorgeous DT creations to get you in the festive mood.I do hope you drop by to take a look ūüôā

Here’s my 1st December creation for you.

As soon as I saw the beautiful New Winter Skates¬†¬†by Crafty Sentiments Designs I knew exactly what I wanted to do with her ūüôā I found this photo glitter dome in a local bargain shop and as luck would have it my little stamped beauty fitted it perfectly ūüôā Love it when a plan falls in place!!She’s been coloured with Copic Ciao Markers and to created some lovely dimension on the trimmings of her clothing I pulled out my Fluffy Stuff. This is an amazing product. To watch it as you heat is just pure magic – but then maybe I’m easily pleased or just need to get out more LOL.Also this is perfect for this project as once set it’s there.Needs to be with the rigorous shaking this will get! Here’s a pic of the back view with some patterned paper backing with a lovely Seasonal greeting :

And finally one with her all shook up :

Hope I’ve managed to capture the magic for you!It was quite some feat juggling everything, being quick with the camera and not getting too much glare off the dome ūüėČ

Beary Snowy Christmas

004

At¬†Craft Your¬†Passion¬†this week the challenge is ¬†Let It Snow.We have the fabulous¬†Robyn’s Fetish and Crafty Sentiments¬†as our¬†sponsors too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don‚Äôt forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

For my card I’ve used the super cute Benson and Betty¬†by Crafty Sentiments. How sweet they are!Yet another simple card where the image has been printed onto the base directly and coloured with blended out Polychromos Pencils. This time I’ve added some Fluffy Stuff to their hat trims and bobbles. To create the snow I stamped some snowflakes and heat embossed them in white.A Versamark Watermark Pen was used to draw in the snow they are sitting in and that was also heat embossed. The sentiment was printed onto the base by using a template on an insert making CD-rom after printing out the image (I used this to position the image too) and running it through the printer a second time.Taking care to put it in the printer the right way round of course ūüėČ Don’t you just love learning from your mistakes…lol… A couple of washi tape strips were adhered down the lefthand side. I die cut a snowflake and attached it with a snowflake brad to complete the snowy look.

Owl shook up!

It’s Pauline’s turn to host this week at Willow Sketchie Challenge¬†and here’s her fabby sketch :

There is also a theme of Warm Colours (Red,Orange,Yellow etc..).Don’t forget you can use the sketch along with the¬†theme or choose either one to play along.¬†You could be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend at¬†Willow Designs¬†too! As well as a winner (chosen randomly) there will be a hand picked¬†Top 3 and they will¬†receive¬†a super cute badge for their blog.Don‚Äôt forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT‚Äôs beautiful creations.A truly¬†inspirational bunch.

Sadly this will be Pauline’s last challenge¬†with¬†us ūüė¶ ¬†Will miss you and your wonderful¬†Willow creations (and sketches!),hun.

I’ve used Bit Chilly clear stamp from Willow Designs¬†and coloured this cut little owl with ProMarkers.Woodware Fluffy Stuff has been added to the trim on his hat and to the drippy snow on the branch. The central panel has been edged using a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page set.An aperture has been cut and framed in the middle, then acetate placed behind. The red card for the frame was more of an orangey tone so I colour tinted it with an ink pad. Before adhering the image under this with foam tape I added some glittery tinsel stuff that was a magazine freebie last year.So there you have it I¬†made¬†a¬†shaker¬†card! To decorate the card I’ve added some wire edged ribbon tied in a bow, with a brad stuck into it and used the corner punch waste for some extra detail.

Supplies :

P-p-p-pick up a penguin!

We have a fabby sketch provided by Karen this week at Digi Doodle Challenges. Please take a look at the challenge blog for details on how to play along and be in the chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate to spend at Digi Doodle Shop.Don’t forget to check out the beautiful DT work while you’re there.

Don’t forget to check my sidebar for this months specials over at the store.

Now on to my card.I’ve used this adorable Christmas Penguin from Digi Doodle Shop. Not only do you get this one you’ll receive him with¬†a plain¬†bauble – you can add your own message if¬†you’d¬†like!I’ve coloured him with ProMarkers and created some texture to his hat trims using Woodware White Fluffy Stuff.Believe me this is am¬†amazing¬†product -you MUST try it!I’ve defined the capital¬†letters¬†on the¬†bauble¬†with a Sky Blue Copic Atyou Spica pen before coating it in Glossy¬†Accents.Black Soot and Broken China¬†Distress¬†Inks have¬†applied¬†to the edges. The backing piece of Core’dinations Gemstones card has been embossed with a Papermania A Silent Night folder. The edge of the vellum overlay has been punched with a Martha Stewart Aspen Edger. Some of the leftover snowflakes have been placed onto some punched from more¬†Gemstones card using the matching corner punch.Teeny¬†Crafts Too gems have been to the centres.More gems in the next size up have been used to cover up where I glued the vellum.Another piece of Gemstones card,in black, has been used to mount the whole image to¬†define¬†it from the background.¬†A freebie sentiment¬†stamp¬†from a set in this month’s Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine¬†inked¬†with Jet Black Archival ink completes the card.
