Quacky Birthday!

There’s a new challenge at Craft Your Passion. This week the theme is Water,Water Everywhere. We have the fabulous Robyn’s Fetish Digital Stamps And More as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

For my card I’ve used the delightful Just Ducky by Robyn’s Fetish Digital Stamps And More printed onto watercolour card and then coloured with Whispers Brush Markers.I made a card base of kraft punched with a Martha Stewart PATP set plus a matching mat for the topper.I’ve layered some floral paper and green card onto the base then added some cotton twill topped with a baker’s twine tied button.I die cut a couple of clouds and tucked my Dymo Labelmaker created sentiment under the edge of the larger one. These cards are fun to make and although effective come together very easily 🙂

This week at Willow Sketchie Challenge we have  a fabby sketch by Anne-Marie :

I’ve used a rather sweet image from the Polly Pickleberry CD-rom from Willow Designs and watercoloured it using Whispers Brush Markers.Thes eimages are a joy to colour! The spotty paper is from the CD-rom as well.Keeping with the countrystyle feel I embossed the stripes and roughed all the edges up.To complete the look I added some wooden flower button with paper thread.

Daisies in distress!

It’s Anything Goes plus Distressing at Craft Your Passion this week.We also have some fabby multi sponsors too – Delicious Doodles,The Paper Shelter and Stitchy Bear Stamps.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at DT and GDT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job!

For my card I’ve used the utterly beautiful Sniffing Daisies from Delicious Doodles. She’s been coloured with FlexMarkers and Distress Ink blended around the edges.I’ve been looking for ways to use up my stash, scraps in particular, and I borrowed the idea of the patchwork background from a card I saw in this months Craft Stamper magazine. The papers are K & Co and  some faux stitching has been drawn in using the fine end of a Whispers Brush Marker.I embossed and sanded a scrap of Core’dinations Whitewash card too.All edges have been roughed up with the Tim Holtz  Paper Distresser  Tool.I cut some hessian flowers with a die and ‘iced’ around the edges to stop them fraying. They’ve been topped with some die cut buttons from another scrap of Core’dinations card.I tied them with some paper thread ( I love this stuff!).I added some vintage seam binding that I swiped with the piece of Cut n Dry foam that I’d used on the image. So as you can see I’ve used quite a lot of distressing techniques!

As this is my first post of 2012 I’d like to wish everyone who stops by a very Happy New Year.

A very special Special!

This is a special you don’t want to miss. Not only will you get these 2 adorable Christmas stamps, but by participating in this month’s special you’ll be helping save animals. Every time a customer includes our special in their purchase, $2.00 will go to “Pet Pardons”We will keep you posted (on our store front) just how much money you and I can raise for our four legged friends.

All you have to do is spend $7.00 anywhere else in our store, and you’ll get this FREE gift.

It’s a sad fact that many animals find themselves in pounds and animal shelters through no fault of their own.It would be lovely if they ALL could find new homes but unfortunately it’s just not possible. Many beautiful creatures face death because of this.Even if you can’t rehome an animal please help in just a small way to give them a better quality of life.

As well as the Special the November Sale is taking place :

Pay Digi Doodle Shop a visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Here’s a card I made using one of the Special digi stamps :

This is the gorgeous Santa & Friends and it’s been watercoloured with Whispers Brush Tip Markers.I’ve had these for years and never really got on with them so I decided to revisit them using Crafter’s Companion Watercolour card and wow what a difference! I actually coloured straight onto the card and blended out with a water brush.I added some Polar White Flower Soft to make the perfect snow.Edges have been torn using a deckle edge ruler. The sentiment is Digi Doodle Shop Circular Word Art -a freebie!Along with many others! The papers are Basic Grey Jovial, edged with Vintage Photo and Black Soot Distress Ink.Other cardstock is from my stash. All edges have had the Tim Holtz Paper Distresser run along them. The Cheesecloth arrived in the post from Ebay (sorry can’t link to the seller, they’ve sold out!) and the Making Memories Primary Brads I’ve had a while.

Some challenges this card is for :

Clear It Out : Your Favourite Holiday
Papertake Weekly : Anything Goes
Card & Scrap : Christmas
Crafter’s Companion : Let It Snow,Let It Snow,Let It Snow
Creatalicous : Distress Your Edges

Socks’ Story :

“Somebody’s sleeping in my bed.” It sure ain’t Goldilocks!LOL

This is our gorgeous dog Socks. She was picked up as a stray and for whatever reason she was never claimed by her owners. She’d been at the pound too long and the vet was called to put her to sleep.Luckily the sensible decision was made not to.She found herself at a rehoming centre and we had the good fortune to come across her there. This sweet natured, loving girl has fitted in perfectly with our family and loves everyone equally. As you can probably tell she is thoroughly spoiled and gets all the attention she deserves!
