The sunniest of days :)

At Craft Your Passion the challenges are Always Anything Goes!We have the fabulous Rick St. Dennis as our sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don’t forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

Isabella Sunny Days by Rick St.Dennis is such a sweetie 🙂 She’s coloured with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers then fussy cut.I decide to go for a rustic, country feel with some yellow gingham and pale kraft card. The ric rac and cord also follow that theme. The greeting has been cut out with individual alphabet dies. The intention was to leave them open but as I always add inserts to my cards I didn’t want the white to show through and spoil it.So instead I found this scrap of blue spotty paper and adhered it behind and inlaid the letters.I also think this colour gives a little lift. The butterfly was punched from some more kraft and a cute, threaded, flower button added to the centre. She’s just perfect for today….The sun has finally decided to shine here in the UK 😀

Don’t forget the current 99¢ Digi Deal stamps are only available until March 1st and then they will be gone forever! If see something you like grab it while you still have the chance!

I’ve used Daisy Girl from Digi Doodle Shop for my card and water coloured her with Distress Inks.I decide to make a kick stand card. Here’s how it works :

I used a Tonic Edgers 5 Punch I picked up for £2.99!I lined it up my Border Punch System to create the continuous pattern. The image is cut out with a Nestie. The papers are some more scrummy Ooh La La for Him by Mind’s Eye – LOVE ’em!I even used one of the labels from the die-cut sheet to stamp the sentiment on to :

The flower on the front was made using the instructions from this Paper Flower Tutorial on Whimsical World of Laura Bird’s blog.I did use a 1″ circle punch for the purpose of this card.It was a little fiddly and it probably didn’t help that this a thin cardstock rather than a paper but as long as you get your folds as accurate and sharp as you can then you shouldn’t have too many problems.Much the same for all paper folding really.I added a gem brad to the centre. This was another bargain. The pack was only £1.99!

Supplies :
Image : Daisy Girl from Digi Doodle Shop
Colouring medium : Distress Inks
Sentiment : From a 3 Birds box of clear stamps stamped in Coffee Archival Ink

Beauty of Spring

The theme at Digi Doodle Shop’s Best is Pearls this week.Play along for the chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate to spend at Digi Doodle Shop or join us as a GDT.Full details are on the challenge blog and don’t forget to check out the DT and GDT’s fabulous work while you’re there.

I’ve used the beautiful Spring Gathering for my card. She’s been printed onto watercolour paper and watercoloured with Distress Inks.I thought it would be in keeping with the gentleness of this figure.I’ve kept to quite a simple layout too to make sure she stays the focus of attention.I’ve added a couple of punched butterflies  to reflect those in the paper and used my newly acquired pearl embellishments. These may be better suited for flower centres but you know what it’s like when you get new stuff!!Anyway last time I used this punch I did a row of pearls down the middle so something different was called for.I stamped the sentiment in brown as I felt being solid black would’ve been overbearing.I used my new 1″ circle punch and it’s perfect for this set of sentiments as there are quite a few circle ones.I like the way it leaves a tiny border.Mind you I’ve wanted one for ages and you wouldn’t believe how difficult it was to find one!

Supplies :
