Owl meet you under the tree

We have another fabby sketch for you at Willow Sketchie Challenge brought to you this week by Anne-Marie :

Feel free to place a sentiment wherever you choose.

I’ve used the adorable Under the Tree image from the Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD-rom from Willow Designs and water coloured with AquaMarkers onto smooth white card.I love the effect it gives,a little different to water colour card.I applied Glossy Accents to the baubles and string of lights on the tree. The papers are from the CD-rom as well. Some scraps from a few other cards I made ( the samples for the Create and Craft show).I toned down the red card with the same  AquaMarker I used on the baubles and their party hats.Finished with some gems and a matching greeting.

Oranges and…er…limes?

The colour combo challenge this week at Passion for ProMarkers  is Bright Green and Mango.I’m also entering this card for C.R.A.F.T.‘s ‘Citrus’ challenge,Ooh-la-la-Creations ‘Anything Goes’,Stamp,Scrap & Doodle Saturdays ‘Open Challenge’ and Stampavie and more ‘Use some Orange on your project’.

I’m not sure of the name of this little cutie as I acquired her in a swap but she has been coloured with Promarkers with some white gel pen highlights.I’ve used a Lip Pattern punch on the corners and on the layer behind her. These have been mounted onto a Nellie Snellen Multi-Frame Rectangles die.The K & Co patterned paper has been punched with a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Flower set from the recent QVC  TSV.The pieces behind this have just had the corners punched. The strip has been made with a Marianne Designs Ribbon Border Die 1 and has been threaded with grosgrain ribbon. The flower has been created using Marianne Designs Creatables Floral Dies 1 and the leaf is from a Ribbon Flower Die Set 3 by the same designer. All card is Core’dinations Gemstones and has been sanded lightly.

Behind again

distressedboycard002

I can’t believe how far behind with everything. There just seems to be so much going on familywise at the moment.

I actually made this card on Saturday to enter into the Willow Sketchie Challenge on the Let’s Get Stamping group at Craftbubble.

The sketch and twist,to use some distressing, were set by GDT Kathy.

This is the sketch:

I have to admit this card was made in rather a hurry for my son’s friend who was having a party that very morning!

Having already decided which stamp and the colour scheme I hurridly looked for a suitable free download backing paper which I found here.I chose a piece of this lovely zig zag card and some black card that has a ridged texture next.I coloured the image, from Personal Impressions Cute Character set 4,with Promarkers and highlighted the skull and crossbones on the shirt with white gel pen.The greeting is by CraziBoutStamps. All corners have had Lips Pattern corner punch used on them and all edges on the layers have been distressed with a Tim Holtz tool. The patterned paper, image and greeting have had Black Soot Distress ink sponged around the edges.I don’t think I did too good a job of this as time was of the essence but I suppose it adds to the grungey feel of the card.A giant red brad and a black ribbon from my stash provide the final elements.
