Spotted checking out the garden

It’s Hazel’s turn to host the Willow Sketchie Challenge this week and here’s her fabby sketch :

There is also a theme of Lots of Layers. You can choose to follow the sketch or theme. You can also do both if you’d like. You could be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend at Willow Designs too!Don’t forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational  bunch.

For my card I’ve used a new digi stamp called Busy in the Garden by Willow Designs.Ain’t she sweet!I’ve coloured her with FlexMarkers and decoupaged her.She even has shiny wellies!

You can just make out the glimmer of light reflecting off the 3D Crystal Lacquer.

And here’s a closer view of the decoupaged effect.

The papers are from the Polly Pickleberry CD-rom by Willow Designs.I’m still ploughing my way through these. There are so many wonderful designs :)I’ve also used my new flower die that I picked up at my local craft warehouse for the bargainous £3.59.Been after these a while  so sometimes it obviously pays to wait!I added some teeny gems to the centres and layered some leaves behind them.

This is what my DH had in mind for me this Easter weekend (cheers mate!) but as our lovely weather has totally broken I may have just wriggled out of it – hopefully! Not that I don’t like gardening. It just plays havoc with my back I usually end up bent double looking like I’m trying to touch my toes for a week afterwards!Ouch!

As it’s the 1st of the month (December already?!) there is a new sale statring from today. There are some new digi stamps instore too!

A big thank you to those who helped with your generous donations to Pet Pardons.A total of $78.00 will be winging it’s way to aid these poor animals.

Now onto my card.I’ve used Christmas Globe by Digi Doodle Shop and coloured it with ProMarkers.I masked the rest of the image and applied a coating of Crafter’s Companion Spray & Sparkle after placing the image in my sophisticated ‘spray booth’…well…OK… it’s a tatty old shoe box lined with kitchen towel but it does the job. This gives the impression it has just been shaken without going to the trouble of making a shaker card.I also added a touch of glitter to the poinsettia. The glitter card I’ve used sheds by the bucket load so I applied some Crafter’s Companion Spray & Shine to seal it all in.Now it can’t get away from me!I used a Punch Around the Page set on the mat the globe is set on.The panel on the front of the image is blank so I stamped a greeting on there. The big jewel on the bow is actually a push pin.I messed up when I bought 2 packs of these thinking they were brads.I just trimmed down the back with wire cutters and set it in place with silicon glue.I die cut some  snowflakes and topped the middles with gems.Hope this is sparkly enough for you!

I’ve a-choired some owls

It’s Thursday so it’s Willow Sketchie Challenge day! This week we have a fabby sketch by Shell :

A £10 Gift Voucher to spend at Willow Designs is up for grabs for one lucky winner too.So head on over to see how to join the fun!

I’ve used Walter and the Choir decoupage and papers from the Walter and Winnie does Christmas CD-rom by Willow Designs.I shaped the layers with my fingers and built it up with Pinflair Glue Gel.Unfortunately it looks a little flat in the pic.I didn’t think to take another from a different angle and as this was one that I sent in to Sharon as a sample for her show on Create and Craft it’s no longer in my possession.Never mind.I’ve rotated the sketch and stretched it to fit a rectangular card base. The green card is Papermania Christmas cardstock. The sentiment is a strip cut from another backing paper.I’ve replaced the triangle with a punched holly leaf and the corners have been shaped with a Siesta Lip Pattern Corner Punch. Red flat back pearls have been used as holly berries and white ones to complete the layout.

Some challenges this is for :

Christmas Card Challenge : 2 Design Papers, Ribbon,Bird (recipe is optional)As you can see I didn’t quite make the recipe.

It’s sketchie time!Over at Willow Sketchie Challenge Kelly has provided us with a fabby sketch plus the twist of making either an easel or tent card. Here’s the sketch :

LOOK! This is the fantastic prize you could win :

I’ve made a tent card using the Home Sweet Home outlined image and coordinating papers from Walter and Winnies does Christmas CD-rom available as a pre-order ( to be shipped from 12th October)  from Willow Designs.I’ve coloured with ProMarkers ,sprinkled snow in the form of Polar White Flower Soft and popped it up using Pinflair Glue Gel.The edges have been distressed with the Tim Holtz tool and after cutting the aperture  I made a frame using Labels 3 Nestabilities. It has been backed with some acetate that has been embossed with a Papermania snowflake folder. The sentiment has been replaced with a snowflake cut from a Marianne Creatables Snowflakes 1 die. Some Papermania buttons and We R Memory Keepers Baker’s Twine has been use to  the card. The sketch has been mirrored in this instance.

Pretty as a Princess

Spots and Stripes is the challenge at AiFactory Challenges this week.Who doesn’t love ’em,eh?You have until 11:59EST on Wednesday July 20th to upload your project using the link below. You do not have to use an AIF image but we would love it if you did and you get an extra entry. You can find some great images in the store here. Don’t forget to take a look at the DT’s fabulous work while you’re there.

I’ve used Princess Digital Stamp  from AiFactory for my card.Isn’t she pretty? She’s been coloured with ProMarkers including the Gold Metallic on her crown.I layered her up on some My Minds Eye papers, the photo anchors were from an embelllishment sheet in the paper pack, and some coordinating card.I’ve embossed a strip of card and laid a punched row of flowers over the top. This is the first time I’ve used it and it was another bargain from my local craft warehouse.I thought £7.99 was a fabby price for an EK Success Slim Edger Punch.Do you see the cute little metal flowers in the bottom left corner?Another bargain from my local craft warehouse. They’re a little like staples and I think you’re supposed to set them with a machine but I just poked the arms through the paper and used my fingers to bend them over.Easy peasy.

This is for my son’s teacher who’s getting married this half term.
