**Please click on the pic for a clearer view. For some reason they always look a little blurry on the blog page¬† ūüė¶¬†¬†**

The challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week is the ever popular Anything Goes.Drop on by to join in the fun and be in with the chance of winning a super prize.Don’t forget to take a look at some fabulous inspiration by the talented DT while you’re there.

Isn’t this just the cutest Christmas Helper you could have? She can be found at Crafty Sentiments Designs. She’s been coloured with¬†Copic Ciao and¬†Sketch Markers with, altho’ it doesn’t show too well,a little snow scattered around her feet. The edges have also been ink distressed.I’m desperately trying use use up old Christmas stash rather than buy any more new.So the card is some I bought a few years ago.The back panel has been embossed with a folder. The ribbon, twine and jingle bells are also from my stash…O.K. I have to admit the embossing folder(part of a set)…and the sentiment stamps are new,but these were a half price bargain and there are loads of words.A girl’s gotta be allowed a little new stuff, isn’t she? ūüėČ

A peek at Summer

dscdt1stjuly

At Digi Sketch Challenge we have another new challenge and the theme this fortnight is Summertime. We have the super Bugaboo Stamps as our sponsor.

It’s the lovely Kelly’s turn to host and here’s her fabby sketch :

You can follow the sketch, theme or even both.Hope you stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT’s beautiful creations.A truly inspirational bunch.

For my card I’ve used Summertime Peekers Flower Pot by Bugaboo Stamps¬†¬†and coloured this cutie with Copic Ciao and Sketch Markers.Altho’ it doesn’t show too well I did colour the flowers with Copic Atyou Spica pens for a little sparkle.I chose a lovely bright paper from a past freebie in Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine and found some coordinating card in my stash. The square panels have been embossed with a recently purchased embossing folder.I love it.It embossed so deeply and it only cost me ¬£1.99 ūüôā Inked over it to bring the pattern out further.I die cut a flower and some leaves to add the sentiment to.I tied a bow and left the tails long so I could twirl them around.

Beauty of the Carousel

At Digi Doodle Shop Challenges this week we’d love to see you Make Your Own Flowers. To be in for the chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate for Digi Doodle Shop please visit the challenge site for full details. You don’t have to use¬†a Digi Doodle Shop image but if you do your entry will count twice!Don‚Äôt forget to take a peek at the DT‚Äôs wonderful work!

I’ve used the very beautiful Carousel from Digi Doodle Shop to create my card. The colouring has been done with Copic Sketch Markers.I tried something a little different to make the shaped card base.I took just the corner punch from my Martha Stewart Cherish Punch Around the Page set to scallop the bottom edge and shape the corners. I did the same on the patterned paper but just punched the corners on the image piece.I tried to replicate the¬†pelmet on the carousel by draping some grossgrain ribbon under the image.¬†I made the flowers by cutting out the shapes from some coordinating paper 6 times and doubled up the layers. To add dimension I first folded them in half horizontally and vertically pattern side in then quarter turned them and folded themin the same manner¬†pattern side out.I added a stamped sentiment in an ink as close a match as I could find to¬†one of the Copics I used .Some 2mm and 3mm gems have been used to embellish.

Apart from being beautiful I think this is just the most perfect Summertime image.

Supplies :

Bow Wow Wow!

Anything Goes this week at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges. To be in for the chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate for Digi Doodle Shop please visit the challenge site for full details.Don’t forget to take a peek at the DT’s wonderful work!

I’ve wanted to use the sweet little Bootsie from the Ragga Mutts Collectables by Digi Doodle Shop for a while and having recently got a¬†dog from a shelter¬†I thought what better time. He’s based on Judy’s (the owner of Digi Doodle Shop) very own dog and been coloured with ProMarkers. At first I was going to make a card using brown tones and the thought he deserved a much more cheery home.So I settled on these papers.I got the idea to add a shoping list and thought a piece of Papermania Kraft Basics would be just the job.It comes with the lines printed on it.The only downside,of course,is you can see my ‘orrible handwriting : ( This is probably a typical list of what I buy our pampered pooch every week. With the exception of the shampoo. She’d rather not have a bath as she’s scared of water! She’s such a baby but that makes her even more lovable.I finished up with a paperclip that I wouldn’t like to say how long I’ve had and a maxi brad with the greeting stamped on.I love stamping on brads!

Supplies :
Image : Bootsie from Digi Doodle Shop
Sentiment : Personal Impressions Mixed Sentiments
Mediums : ProMarkers,Jet Black Stazon
Papers & Card : DCWV The Mini Stack 3,Papermania 12 x 12 Kraft Basics Pack
Tools : X-Cut guillotine,Siesta Large Corner Rounder Punch,Nestabilities Classic Ovals and Clasic Scalloped Ovals Large,Big Shot

Although I haven’t matched the colouring on Bootsie to¬†Socks, our dog, here’s the inspiration:

Posing for the camera!
You did lay this out for me didn’t you?Hmmmn….no.
As you can see she’s NOT allowed on the beds.D’ya think someone should tell her?Oh yeah,we did!
Lazy hound!Mind you if I had a bed as cosy as this I think I would spend most of my day here too.

She was due to be put to sleep because her owners never claimed her and her time was up in the pound.A vet said she shouldn’t be and was she was sent to re-homing shelter. She’d been there a while too ūüė¶ My kids fell in love with her¬†as soon as they met her. She’s so gentle and loving. She absolutely soaks up all the attention and cuddles she gets ūüôā

Thanks for looking and putting up with all my doggy pics!

Doctors and Nurses

The challenge theme this week at AiFactory Challenges is Under the Weather. You don’t need a AIFactory image to join in but there are some freebies if you’d like one of their images. You have until Wednesday 30th March 11:59 EST to upload your project.Stop by the challenge site to check out full details.Don’t forget to take a look at the wonderful DT creations while you’re there!

Here I’ve used Little Doctor Medical Cliparts.I’ve devised a card incoporating a tissue holder.I took inspiration from Splitcoaststampers Treat Box Card¬†by Melanie Schulenberg .The meausurement for the box part wasn’t big enough for what I needed so I altered the sizing to suit. This was a major achievement for me.I¬†REALLY don’t do meausuring!I even have trouble when the instructions are clearly laid out in front of me.I also flipped it so the card opens like a normal one.As well as the Nurse I printed out a plaster and stamped the greeting on it.It’s layered onto a real piece of bandage!

Here’s the inside :

I made the insert in Word and changed the font in Word Art.I thought this one one went rather well with the cliparts as it has the same shadowing underneath.Mind you with the horrendous cold I’ve picked up I may need to keep this one for myself¬† ūüėČ

I had so much fun making this I didn’t stop there. This next project is far simpler.

I took a Christmas tin,one of many I have stashed in my cupboard, for this one :

I resized, printed and die cut the image and layered it onto another die cut piece.I edged them in Metallic Silver Promarker :

Because the rest of the lid and tin had no Christmas images and I quite liked the stripes I just added some grossgrain ribbon and some more cliparts resized to fit :

In case you hadn’t guessed it’s for keeping plasters in!

Supplies :
Images : Little Doctor Medical Cliparts from AiFactory
Sentiment : Personal Impressions Mixed Sentiments clear stamp set
Mediums : Jet Black Archival Ink Pad,Metallic Silver Promarker
Papers & Card : DP Making Memories, 12 x 12 white cardstock from stash

Beauty of Spring

The theme at¬†Digi Doodle Shop’s Best is Pearls this week.Play along for the chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate to spend at Digi Doodle Shop or join us as a GDT.Full details are on the challenge blog and don’t forget to check out the DT and GDT’s fabulous work while you’re there.

I’ve used the beautiful Spring Gathering for my card. She’s been printed onto watercolour paper and watercoloured with Distress Inks.I thought it would be in keeping with the gentleness of this figure.I’ve kept to quite a simple layout too to make sure she stays the focus of attention.I’ve added a couple of punched butterflies¬† to reflect those in the paper and used my newly acquired pearl embellishments. These may be better suited for flower centres but you know what it’s like when you get new stuff!!Anyway last time I used this punch I did a row of pearls down the middle so something different was called for.I stamped the sentiment in brown as I felt being solid black would’ve been overbearing.I used my new 1″ circle punch and it’s perfect for this set of sentiments as there are quite a few circle ones.I like the way it leaves a tiny border.Mind you I’ve wanted one for ages and you wouldn’t believe how difficult it was to find one!

Supplies :
Image : Spring Gathering from Digi Doodle Shop

I’ve used a couple of elements from the¬†‘Wuv you Ella’ set, including the delightful¬†Ella herself. She’s been coloured with Promarkers¬†and I hand stamped the message in her thought bubble.I’ve kept the layout quite simple because of the colour scheme and I didn’t want to lose Ella amongst too much fuss, did I?I wanted to mount her on the same paper as in the background so rather than cut into another piece of paper I figured out that I could cut it from the same piece as it would be covered with a scalloped oval.It worked! I cut her and the thought bubble out – just don’t look too closely at the small circle!Still,it’s lucky to have survived!Did think afterwards it would’ve been easier to punch it out – duh!I I just added some borders cut from a Sizzix¬†die and the heart with the swirls and flower from the set, also coloured with Promarkers. If you think Ella looks sweet you can find other sets and images featuring her at¬†AiFactory.
