At¬†Craft Your¬†Passion¬†the challenges are Always Anything Goes!We have the fabulous Sami Stamps¬†as our¬†sponsor too.Head on over to check how to play and win.Don‚Äôt forget to take a look at the DT inspiration, they’ve done a wonderful job.

I just had to play with the most amusing Funny Frog by Sami Stamps¬†ūüėĬ†He’s been coloured up with Copic Ciao Markers, including the Blender to create some texture to his frog skin, and to add to the fun he had to have a coating of 3D Crystal Lacquer on his glasses along with a furry moustache,to make it more tactile.I did have to wrack my brains on how to bring the idea to reality. In my stash I had some Polar White Flower Soft but that wasn’t the colour I wanted his ‘tache to be…So I pulled out some Terracotta Posh Impressions Rainbow Ink that I’ve had for ages and added a couple of drops, stirred with a cocktail stick in a medicine measuring cup!Once it was dry it was stuck into place with some dries clear PVA.Cut a shaped easel for the base and added these papers that I bought quite a few Summer’s ago in a sale.I fussy cut him and plonked him on top of an embossed and die cut piece. The sentiment has been computer generated and cut into a banner shape with some paper twine wrapped around one end.I added some Shimmer Dots that were originally silver to decorate¬†but out came a coordinating Copic Ciao to transform them! This is for my DD1 who has recently move into a new home with a couple of her friends whilst she’s at uni.

Coffin’ Candy

jsl12th oct 001

Just a reminder that the month long Halloween challenge at Just Some Lines is still open.To play along you need to use a Just Some Lines image and you could win a digi if you’re picked as part of the Top 3!

I’ve used Happy Boo by Just Some Lines, who just happens to be this month’s challenge freebie, and coloured him with Copic Ciao Markers. After fussy cutting him I mounted him onto some purple card and cut him out again leaving just a fine border for definition.I made a coffin box without the lid so that it could used openly, more like a tray.I found the template here. The box itself is made from a piece of wood grain paper (altho’ it’s more like thin cardstock) and I lined it with some purple patterned paper. The edges have been inked. To cover up my dodgy cutting out?Surely not ūüėČ I have to confess I haven’t bought my Halloween sweets yet so I grabbed some scrummy Peppermint Aero Bubbles out of the cupboard.I thought with those colours they’d do the job ūüôā The reason I didn’t add the whole bag is so you could see the beautiful paper and not ‘cos I’d scoffed them – honest ūüėõ

Supplies :

The best kind of gardening

This week at Willow Sketchie Challenge we have a fabby sketch by Claire :

The theme is Use Three Different Papers. You¬†can¬†choose either the sketch or theme. If you’re feeling up for the¬†challenge¬†you can¬†combine¬†the two!¬†You could be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend at¬†Willow Designs¬†too!Don‚Äôt forget to stop by the challenge site and check out my fellow DT‚Äôs beautiful creations.A truly¬†inspirational bunch.

For my card I’ve used Garden Weekly Digital Stamp¬†from Willow Designs and coloured Walter with ProMarkers. The hearts on the wallpaper have been coloured green for a leafy feel.I chose some muted papers that I thought would go with the¬†gardening¬†theme and the reverse of some Papermania Kraft card. The face is quite dark whereas this side has a more natural¬†fibrous texture. To keep in with this I distressed all the edges. To finish the card I added some buttons threaded with paper twine. This is now the fourth Father’s Day card I’ve made.Yippee!I’m on a roll.

Supplies :

I’ve used the cute and fun Who’s Bad? from Digi Doodle Shop. They’ve been printed onto watercolour card and painted with AquaMarkers. This is my very first attempt.Even though I’ve bought a lot of pens recently I¬†couldn’t resist buying these at a whopping 60% off.Think I’m gonna like my new toys! The inverted scallop border was created using the same punch used on the corners but without the guide. The bow is actually faux. After wrapping the ribbon around the brown card I¬†bound a section with some thread then took a loop of¬†some more and also¬†wound some thread round the centre.I’ve topped it with a kind of flower made using the scraps where I punched the inverted corners.I folded them in half¬†and wet glued them to a small circle of brown card, another scrap.I was then able to position them as I liked. A Chocolate Pearl ¬†was adhered in the centre.

Supplies :

I’ve used Ruby Tidbits – Attitude from Bugaboo Stamps¬†and coloured her with ProMarkers.I decided with this much attitude she deserved some bright,bold,in-your-face papers and colours.I’ve added some delicious lime green brads and rolled roses ‘cos I haven’t made them in ages and I thought they’d go a treat¬†with the swirly ¬†backing paper.

Here’s the inside to show the rest of the words :

It’s kinda plain to add a greeting but I used the same colours/papers and placed the other part of the sentiment in the same place too.

Fluttering Round

Butterflies is the challenge at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges this week.To be in for the chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate for Digi Doodle Shop please visit the challenge site for full details.Don’t forget to take a peek at the DT’s wonderful work!

I’ve used the beautiful ¬† Butterfly and Thistle from Digi Doodle Shop¬†and coloured it with Gioconda Soft Pastel Pencils and the spots on the wings were whitened using a gel pen. This image is pretty apt at the moment as when I’m walking the dog I keep getting stabbed in the leg by the ginormous thistles growing along the sides of the fields.OUCH!I’ve used my newly accquired Marianne’s Design Circle Frame Set to create the shaped easel base.I added some definition around the edges with aProMarker. The bottom half has been layered up with some bargain papers at got at my local craft warehouse.I hope you can see the teeny gems and this rather delightful embellishment. It’s called a Craft Stapler by Creative Expressions.I got these in a bargain bin also at my local craft warehouse.I took a risk as I don’t have the tool to set them. All I did was work out where to make the holes either end¬†of the staple, push the legs through and bend the ends over with my fingers.Very¬†luckily!I added some gems to fill the gaps around the image to finish it off.

Supplies :
Image : Butterfly and Thistle from Digi Doodle Shop
Mediums : Koh-I-Noor Gioconda Soft Pastel Pencils,Winsor & Newton Artist’s Fixative,Inkssentials Opaque White Gel Pen,ProMarker in Orchid

Simply peaceful Ella

This week at AiFactory Challenges it’s Double Time. We’d love to see two of something on your projects. You have until 11:59EST on Wednesday July 13th to upload your project using the link below. You do not have to use an AIF image but we would love it if you did and you get an extra entry. You can find some great images in the store here. Don‚Äôt forget to take a look at the DT‚Äôs fabulous work while you‚Äôre there.

Here is Ella at Peace. She’s one of several little cuties in the Ella Collection. They can¬†all be found at AiFactory.I’ve kept the design of my card simple as I really wanted the image and colouring to be the main focus. She’s been coloured with ProMarkers.I also wanted a clean look to the card as the colours are so strong.Just love these papers! And they were a bargain.I half filled¬† a pizza box with 12 x 12 papers for just ¬£8.99 at Coleman’s Craft Warehouse. They estimated this would be about 75 but when I got home and counted them there were 85 papers and 10 of the most gorgeous printed vellums.¬†I wasn’t quite sure what to add as my 2 somethings and after pulling out every embellishment I own, plumped for these rather scrummy flower brads.

Supplies :
